Chapter 115

The next morning, Madelyn woke up groggily to see Andrew getting dressed. She blushed hard, seeing a few scratch marks on his clean toned back.

Andrew turned around and met her sleepy, evasive eyes with a smile. “Did you see the evidence you left behind?”

Madelyn immediately hid under the covers, but Andrew forcefully pulled her out. “Didn’t I tell you that hiding under the covers can be suffocating? It’s bad for your health.”

“But you’re making fun of me!” Madelyn muttered, struggling to hide again.

Andrew didn’t push her further, allowing her to wrap herself up like a cocoon. He ruffled her hair affectionately. “Stay home and behave. I’ll be back for lunch.”

“No, I have to go to the Garcia Manor for lunch today.”

“To visit Grandma?” Andrew asked.

“Yes, her!” Madelyn avoided saying the word “Grandma. As far as she knew, she had never called Victoria that. After all, she was already ten years old when she returned to the Gracia family.

Madelyn had always been straightforward in avoiding people who didn’t like her. Since Victoria had no good feelings about Madelyn, Madelyn didn’t like her back, either!

Andrew immediately understood and frowned. “What’s the point of going back? They’ll just upset you.” According to what Andrew saw, Madelyn had never had a good time with the Garcias. Every visit to the Garcia Manor ended with her feeling upset.

Still sleepy, Madelyn said, “They’ve called so many times. If I don’t go and see what’s up, who knows what trouble they might cause?”

“Just ignore them.” Andrew still didn’t agree with Madelyn going back. The Garcias only wanted to take advantage of her every time she returned.

Madelyn knew what he was thinking and reached out under the covers to grab his warm fingers. “I need to take back what they took from me, don’t I?”

Andrew was stunned. Suddenly, Madelyn got up and jumped on him.

Andrew helplessly sighed. “I really can’t handle you.”

He didn’t expect Madelyn to think of reclaiming the projects Garcia Group had taken from him. He thought it would be good enough if she didn’t blindly agree to their conditions, let alone take anything back.

But regardless of her changes, the Garcia family shouldn’t expect to get more benefits from him.

“Should I get Benson to come with you?” Andrew offered, clearly worried about her.

Madelyn shook her head. “No need. Trust me, I can take care of myself. I won’t give them the chance to bully me.”

Seeing her determination, Andrew relented, “Call me if anything happens.”

“Okay.” Madelyn obediently clung to his shoulder like a sleepy child.

Andrew gently placed her back under the covers and tucked her in. Madelyn, still drowsy, turned over and went back to sleep.

Chapter 115

He felt a deep sense of contentment watching her sleep so peacefully.

David immediately ordered the kitchen staff when he saw her come downstairs, “Bring Mrs. Miller’s breakfast. Are the pills ready?”

“Yes, right away!” The chef quickly turned to fetch it.

Madelyn waved. “I have to go to the hospital now for a blood test, so I need to be fasting. I won’t eat.”

David looked worried to hear that she was Mr. Miller?”

“Shall I arrange a driver for you?” David asked again.

Madelyn was already heading out. “No need. I have plans in the afternoon. Having a driver come along would be inconvenient.”
