Chapter 114

Amelia looked at Elena when she heard that. Her clenched fists tightened.

She thought about Madelyn’s recent changes. Not only had Madelyn managed to charm Andrew, but she had also changed the Millers‘ attitude toward her.

Amelia understood that they lost many benefits as a result of Madelyn’s transformation.

It was one thing for Madelyn to get the Miller family to go against them, but had Victoria also been bewitched?

Recalling Victoria’s recent attitude, Amelia’s chest heaved with anger. “After all she’s done to us, what else does she want to say?” 

Elena remained silent, watching Amelia, who felt uneasy under her gaze.

Amelia nervously asked, “You didn’t give away your fake pregnancy in front of her, did you?”

“No.” Elena shook her head.

Amelia patted her chest in relief. “Make sure she doesn’t find out. If you piss her off, and she starts to dislike you, we’re done for.”

A gloomy look flashed in Elena’s eyes. Victoria had always favored boys over girls and only valued two granddaughters among all in the Garcia family.

One of them was Krista, who had gained fame abroad. And the other was Elena, who Amelia had meticulously groomed into one of the best architects in the country.

But to Victoria, Elena could never compare to Krista.

Elena didn’t respond to Amelia’s statement. She changed the subject. “Is there any news from Mrs. Brown?” 

“Yes, there is. But as you know, the best companies in the country are the Miller Group and Phillips Group. Mrs. Brown has no say in the Phillips Group.”

The implication was that Elena had to join the Miller Group or Phillips Group if she wanted to make a name for herself in front of Krista.

Since Danielle Brown had no influence in the Phillips Group, the Miller Group was the only option.

“In that case, as for Maddie…” Elena hesitated, looking troubled.

Amelia knew something was off about Victoria’s attitude toward them.

Elena had once pinned all her hopes on Andrew, but since the Garcias‘ disapproval of them grew, she had to rely on her career to secure her place. That was the only plan for now as it was difficult to make progress with Andrew.

“Ignore her for now. Let’s first get into a subsidiary of the Miller Group without letting Andrew know,” Amelia blurted out.

It used to be easy for Elena to enter the Miller Group. But, with Madelyn’s current attitude and Andrew’s constant protection, things were much harder now.

Amelia continued, “I know joining a subsidiary might feel beneath you, but you must know that your grandpa’s health is failing. He might only have a year or two left.

“You know your grandma has always favored Krista over you.”

With the Garcia Group suffering such a huge blow, Elena understood that things could potentially be tough for them if they couldn’t secure a piece of their pie from the Gracia family.

“Good girl. If that ungrateful woman was half as sensible as you, the García family wouldn’t be in such a dire state.”

Amelia was furious thinking about Madelyn causing the co’s current predicament.

Elena comforted her, but her eyes flashed with a scheming glint.

Since Madelyn’s attitude toward her had changed, she found it increasingly difficult to meet Andrew.

She hadn’t thought much about it, but now she realized she had to approach Andrew. Otherwise, he might end up forgetting about her!

“You’re not in contact with Easton anymore, are you?” Amelia asked sternly.

Elena immediately shook her head. “No, don’t worry!”

“Although he’s part of the Miller family, his familial branch isn’t valued in the Miller family. Being kicked out of the Miller family proves he’s useless,” Amelia disdainfully commented at the mention of Easton. Although Elena reassured Amelia she had nothing to do with Easton, she had her own plans.
