Love or Die: CEO’ s Daily Dose of Swoon (Cordelia)

Chapter 219

Chapter 219

Everard was just polishing off his last bite of pizza when he suddenly mentioned, "Oh, my phone's dead."

After finishing his meal, he slowly raised his head and continued in a calm voice, showing her his phone that he had switched off upon entering the school to avoid any disturbances back in Ontoky City.

Cordelia didn't question him; she just frowned slightly and nodded, "Alright then."

She decided she would just get her phone back from Waldron later.

The rules at Autumn Gold Academic Bootcamp did state no phones during classes, but surely a quick call home after school was allowed, right? Everard wasn't in a hurry. Some matters, he preferred to handle personally once he got back in the evening.

Was there really a need to involve Mathster in this?

After dinner, they headed back to the classroom for evening study.

Cordelia went to the teacher's office, finding only Waldron there. Upon seeing her, he sighed in relief, "Cordelia, are you here to apologize to Lucille? He's already left..."

Before he could finish, Cordelia shook her head, "No, I'm here for my phone."

Waldron was momentarily speechless, "What?"

After Cordelia explained the situation, Waldron was at a loss for words, "You mean, Lucille confiscated your phone during lunch?"

Cordelia nodded.

Waldron felt this was absurd.

Although the school rules stated no phones, they couldn't possibly cut off communication with students' families, especially not at Autumn Gold Academic Bootcamp, which was far from just any summer camp.

This rule was nearly obsolete; it was the digital age, after all. How could phones be banned entirely?

He stood up, "Let me find it for you."

Heading to Lucille's desk, he intended to open the drawer but found it locked.

Waldron took a deep breath, grabbed a hammer nearby, and smashed the lock before handing Cordelia her phone, "You should call your family."

He couldn't stand Lucille's behavior.

But as an adult with a family to support, he couldn't jeopardize his career by confronting Lucille directly. All he could do was speak up for Cordelia and retrieve her phone.

Cordelia gave Waldron a deep look, bowed slightly, and thanked him before leaving with her phone.

Waldron sighed after she left. There was little he could do against Lucille, a minor authority within the school hierarchy.

Once outside, Cordelia messaged Mathster to explain the situation, ending with a request for help.

Mathster responded swiftly, ensuring Cordelia he would handle the matter and advised her to focus on her studies.

Ignoring Queenie's scoff, Cordelia

sat down as Keen approached her, promising to stand by her with his family's support if necessary. Cordelia assured him it was t needed; she could handle it herself.

As the evening study session began, everyone was on edge, but Cordelia, absorbed in her studies, paid no mind to Everard's gaze, which remained fixed on her throughout the night.

After class, as they prepared to leave, Cordelia inquired about Everard's exit plan, surprised to learn he had scaled the camp's 2.5-meter wall to getText property © Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org.

in.

Offering to accompany him to the wall, she watched as he effortlessly climbed over, bidding her a casual "See you tomorrow" before disappearing into the night.

As soon as Everard landed, his demeanor changed, and he immediately turned his phone back on to make an important call...

Hearing the silence from the corridor, Cordelia finally turned and made her way back to her dorm room.

No sooner had she stepped inside than the sound of a heated argument greeted her ears.

Daisy seemed particularly upset, "How could you guys do this?"

The other two roommates hesitated before speaking, "Daisy, it's not that we don't support Cordelia, but we're scared too."

One of them broke down crying, "I've

only ever been good at math, my overall grades aren't great. College was my one shot. If I get kicked out of the Autumn Gold Academic Bootcamp, I'm done for! I'm so sorry!"

With those words, they grabbed their backpacks and blankets, and as they walked out, they bumped into Cordelia. Seeing her, their faces turned beet red, "Th-The genius?"

Cordelia, with a calm demeanor, nodded and walked past them into the dorm.

Relieved, the two quickly left.

Daisy, however, was seething, "Genius, they're afraid of being dragged down by you, so they decided to crash at another dorm tonight."

Cordelia replied, "Oh."

Daisy was dumbfounded, "You're not mad?"

Cordelia responded, "To each their own."

After getting ready for bed, Cordelia lay down just as Queenie passed by their door, deliberately raising her voice, I'm so looking forward to tomorrow. Heard the verdict on Cordelia's punishment will be out!"
