Chapter 323 Are You Satisfied

Noah took Carla to the hospital.

Carla continuously gnashed her teeth in great pain. It took a while before the doctor could give her an

X-ray examination and help restore her injured leg.

After a series of tests, the doctor told Noah and Carla patiently, "Fortunately, the injury is not that

serious and you came here just in time. However, you must be careful not to use this injured leg that

much. Otherwise, complications are most likely to occur and the problem will become much more

complicated than it already is."

Carla looked down and responded, "Certainly, I will remember that, doctor. I'll be careful so that there

won't be another accident in the future."

When the doctor left, Noah focused his attention on Carla with immense guilt.

He sincerely said, "I'm so sorry, Carla. It's all my fault. I shouldn't have pulled you."

Because Carla had just undergone a series of treatment, she was still in great pain. She laid against

the wall and forced a tight smile before saying, "Noah, don't blame yourself. It was because of my

disobedience.

If I had been much more tolerant when Trina said those cruel words, then nothing would have

happened. I shouldn't have been so agitated and lost my temper at that time."

While listening to Carla, Noah frowned. He didn't say anything but his face darkened.

"Noah, to tell you the truth, I should be the one apologizing to you. The next time when I go out with

you, I promise you that I will control my temper and I will never lose control like that. And if anyone says

anything harsh to me, I'll just ignore it. I promise that I would never bring trouble to you," Carla stated

calmly.

A bitter smile showed up on her face. She sat up and reached out to pick up her cane.

To hide his emotions, Noah sealed his lips tightly. But still, he leaned down to scoop up Carla and take

her out of the surgery room.

Just then, Noah realized something.

He thought to himself, 'I should have smashed all of Trina's trophies. If I did, then Carla wouldn't feel so

upset anymore.

I should have stood firmly with Carla and protected her. Instead, I was so stupid and just kept on

defending Trina. I didn't consider that it might have hurt Carla very deeply.

Since Trina has been my friend for so many years I didn't mean to ruin my relationship with her but

then, what I didn't consider was how it would affect my relationship with Carla. There wasn't anything I

could do to make both of them happy at the same time. However, I should have immediately noticed

Carla's emotions when Trina started criticizing her.

And I should have walked away at the beginning and removed Carla from that situation without looking

back.

Carla has her own dignity and moral integrity which are to protect herself from being mistreated by

others. And with what happened today, I could only guess how much it affected her.

What a big mistake that I've made.'

On their way back home, they happened to pass by the exhibition. Both of them saw a big fire in the

clearing outside the exhibition.

It was only five minutes after they left the hospital when Noah's phone rang.

The caller ID showed "Trina".

From the other side of the phone, Trina's frigid voice shouted, "Noah, what the heck did you do?

Are you helping your fiancee take out her anger on me? Are you the one who bought all of my

paintings and then burned them in front of so many people? What have you done!

How could you be so heartless and disregard our friendship just like that? How could you put me in this

humiliating situation? How could I recover from this?"

Without giving Noah the time to explain or even respond, Trina hung up the phone immediately after

she finished talking.

Noah looked at the burning fire outside the exhibition. Instantly, it seemed like he paced out, lost in his

own thoughts. There was only fire in his brown eyes.

Suddenly, he seemed to notice something near the fire.

He saw a tall man who looked like Terence walking away from the scene. Before the man got on his

car, he turned to the direction of Noah's car with his beautiful yet profound eyes. An unnoticeable smile

crept on his lips while he got on the car.

Noah couldn't believe what he had seen. His brown eyes broadened, but soon enough, he closed his

eyes and nobody could decipher what he was thinking.

Carla, who was sitting behind Noah, couldn't help but clap her hands. She was feeling so much better

than moments ago. She exclaimed, "That's so great. Whoever did this was so kind. I really want to

thank him for seeking revenge for me. Thank you very much!"

From where she was sitting, there was no doubt that she couldn't see Terence.

However, in her heart, she clearly knew who would do something like that.

Terence was still in HA City that day.

It must be him who did all of this. Besides him, nobody would have any reason to burn all of Trina's

paintings.

While Carla was deep in her thoughts, her phone rang.

Just as she had guessed, it was Terence.

She answered the phone and Terence's voice came to her ears. "Are you feeling better now?"

Hearing Terence's gentle voice, Carla couldn't resist the impulse to laugh. She turned to look outside

the window and found a Bentley on the other side of the street. The window looking towards their car

was wide open.

Terence was leaning against the window holding his phone to his ears. He was looking at her

attentively.

"You must have paid a large amount of money to do this, right?" Carla asked. She remembered that

Trina's paintings were all quite expensive. Each painting cost millions of dollars.

It was not a small price to buy all of the paintings.

"The cost is nothing at all. What important is whether you're happy or not. How could she be so bold to

anger you? But still, this is just a small lesson for her. I will erase her name in the painting community

and she will never survive as an artist anymore.

As soon as I'm done with her, her paintings will be nothing but rubbish. Nobody will buy her works,"

Terence hissed.

Although his voice was full of disdain, he looked at Carla dotingly. There seemed to be stars in his

eyes. Terence thought quietly to himself, 'What a foolish person Trina is. Now that you have made my

girl unhappy, then you deserve all of the punishments that I will throw your way.'

Suddenly he seemed to think of something much more important. The smile on his face disappeared

instantly.

He seriously asked, "How is your leg? I saw that Noah carried you out of the exhibition. Did you get

hurt?"

While he said this, he thought, 'What a bastard. How could he treat Carla like this just to help an

outsider?

Did he forget that Carla is his fiancee?

This just shows that no man will ever care for Carla as much I do. She is mine.'

"We just left the hospital. The doctor said that it wasn't that serious. One of my joints just got dislocated

a little. I'm alright now," Carla responded.

She was so indulged in the phone call that she had forgotten that Noah was in front of her. When she

came to realize this, she noticed that Noah didn't look very well.

Terence was in the car across the street. Even if his eyesight wasn't that good, Noah could clearly see

him.

"What?" Terence exclaimed.

Hearing that Carla's joint moved a little, he immediately frowned and he was overwhelmed with great

anxiety. He looked at her with anger in his eyes and said, "Tell Noah that the next time he hurt you, I

will take you back immediately.

Wait, I'll just tell it to him myself."

Terence ended the phone call, opened the door and got off the car. He walked straight towards Carla's

car.

To say that Carla was quite shocked by his reaction would be an understatement.

She pondered, 'How could he be so brave?

From the rearview mirror, Noah saw Terence walking towards his car. All of a sudden, he stepped on

the gas and started the car.

stopped his tracks. Terence stood by the street and stared at the car driving away from him.

Carla saw that Terence took out his phone again.

Without a doubt, it was Terence.

He said, "Carla, stay at home this afternoon. I'm going to pick you up."

There was no clear emotion in his voice. Terence hung up and looked at the Land Rover that was

driving away.

Inside the Land Rover, there was a dead silence since the phone call with Terence ended.

She didn't know what to say so she just kept silent. It was so quiet that even the sound of their breaths

could be heard inside the car.

Noah didn't drive Carla to the Hua family's mansion. He stopped at the house he was living in.

When they arrived, Noah got out of the car and carried her to her room upstairs. When she had settled

for a while, he said in a soft voice, "Have a rest here. It's almost time for lunch. I'm going to tell them to

prepare something."

"Noah,"

Carla mumbled to stop him from leaving. She let out a sigh and lowered her head slowly.

She seemed to be quite guilty and said, "I'm so sorry. Trina is your friend and I shouldn't have fought

with her."

Noah stopped at the door of her room. However, he didn't turn towards Carla's direction so she couldn't

see his expression.

"Carla, what happened today was entirely my fault. I shouldn't have taken you to the exhibition," Noah

said.

"No, no. Don't say that. Noah, I know that you took me there so I could relax. I am well aware of your

kindness. It's all my fault. I shouldn't have offended your friend. I will try to control my temper from now

She didn't know what Noah was thinking at that time.
