Chapter 508 Looking to Get Married
Chapter 508 Looking to Get Married
“Where have you been, Clarissa?” Chanel asked.
“I was at a meeting at Eden Investment Corporation,” Clarissa replied.
The two didn’t have more to say.
After getting home, Clarissa messaged Mrs. Faber to ask about Neil.
Mrs. Faber: [Clarissa, Neil’s been asking about you. He wants you to come see him. Maybe you can
come over if you have the time?]
Clarissa: [Sure.]
After replying, she thought about taking a bus over early in the morning. It was already late tonight, so
all of the buses to Genovia had already stopped operating.
Coincidentally, Damien called.
Clarissa answered. “Hello.”
“Mrs. Faber said you’re coming back to Genovia. Come over to Grandpa’s and we can go together.”
“When?”
“Now.”
Clarissa lifted her wrist and checked the time. It was already four in the evening. By the time they
reached Genovia, it would be about eight or nine o’ clock. Getting a lift would be nice, so going home to
see Neil now was a good idea.
“Okay.”
Clarissa packed a simple overnight bag and went over to Grandpa Lawrence’s house. Damien was Content (C) Nôv/elDra/ma.Org.
already waiting for her downstairs.
After getting into the car, the two of them didn’t talk to each other. Eventually, Clarissa drifted off to
sleep.
When she opened her eyes again, they had already arrived at Hill Villa. Damien was busy getting the
things from the car.
A child was standing at the door, happily welcoming Damien home. “Daddy’s home! Where’s Mommy?
Mrs. Faber said you’d come home with Mommy!”
Clarissa didn’t bother with getting her things from the car and bent down to hug Neil instead. “Mommy’s
here. I heard you’ve been sick the past few days. Are you feeling better?”
Clarissa kissed Neil all over his face.
“I got better a long time ago! Mrs. Faber helped me get better. But I’m happy I could trick you into
coming home, Mommy!” Neil said happily.
Clarissa flicked a finger at Neil’s forehead and scolded, “Little rascal!”
“Mommy!” Neil hugged Clarissa’s legs with affection. “Mommy, I miss you so much!”
Getting bored of watching Clarissa and Neil, Damien went into the living room without another word.
Damien had just sat on the couch and started to ask Mrs. Faber what had been going on for the last
few days when his phone rang. Ray was calling.
“Damien, are you looking to get married? It’s become the headline of some dating website! Why didn’t
you tell me you wanted to get married? I would’ve introduced you to someone,” Ray said, half-joking
and half-curious.
“What? Which dating website?‘
“I’ll send you a link. Are you looking for a stepmother for Neil? Don’t you think you should ask him for
his opinion first?” Ray didn’t give up asking.
“Stop bothering me. Hurry up.” Damien was in a bad mood, so he was very rude to Ray.
Coincidentally, Clarissa came in from the outside, holding her bag in one hand and carrying Neil in the
other.
She was talking to Neil and ignored Damien all the way, walking straight to Neil’s room.
Damien’s gaze dropped from Clarissa to the table. He impatiently pulled at his necktie in frustration.
“I heard from the website that lots of people are searching for you. Now, their daily website traffic is the
total traffic they get in the year. You made a huge impact! Are you trying to advertise for them? If not, I’ll
get them to stop it right now,” Ray said.
Damien glared at Neil’s room door. When Clarissa had gone in, she had slammed the door with a loud
bang.
“No need. Keep it there,” Damien said through gritted teeth.
“Do you really mean it?”
Damien ignored Ray and hung up decisively.
