Chapter 507 A Woman’s Thoughts
Chapter 507 A Woman’s Thoughts
At Eden Investment Corporation, those who had come by were only those who were based in Florin.
After all, the New East headquarters were in Genovia. The other top executives wanted to come as
well, but it was too far to travel.
Charles was waiting there. There was a huge rendering hung on the wall.
Clarissa was struck dumb. On the very top of the rendering were the words, Ashland Neighborhood,
Ashland Phase 1, Ashland Phase 2, Ashland Phase 3, Ashland Hospital, Ashland Mall…
Her daughter’s name was in everything.
She suddenly realized what a huge project Damien was doing. The anger she felt in her heart for
Damien dissipated somewhat.
It seemed Charles was very moved as well. As he made his speech, his hands trembled.
“Ashland is Florin’s biggest neighborhood. I’ve attracted some businesses for the mall, too. With our
influence and New East’s capabilities, everyone will be fighting to buy a lot. If any of you would like to
buy a house here, we can provide a discount of up to 25 to 30 percent. However, you only have one
chance. After this, you won’t have the opportunity anymore. What’s more, they will all be Phase 1
properties. The houses and locations are exceptional. You get to choose first,” Charles explained. “Our
current price is 5600 dollars per square foot. You can do your own math for the price with the discount
included. It’s first come, first served.”
Clarissa had long been tempted. She had wanted to buy herself a house when the sales started, but
now, Charles was giving them the chance to buy at an internal discount.
Clarissa wanted to buy one, but she didn’t have the money.
She didn’t want to touch the 150 million Damien had given her. It was all in the bank, and she had
never thought of it as her money.
After thinking about it, the only person who could come up with that much money was Damien.
She turned her head to glance at him. Damien was currently looking at the rendering.
On the way home, Clarissa couldn’t speak up to borrow money. Instead, she kept looking out the
window.
Unexpectedly, Damien spoke up first. “Do you want to buy a house?”
“How did you know?”
Damien couldn’t help but laugh. It seemed he was mocking Clarissa’s inability to keep up. “I knew you
wanted to buy a house in Ashland, since you’re not buying one from your university.”
Clarissa was sure Damien probably knew that she wanted to buy a house in Ashland because of the
name of the neighborhood.
The fury she had harbored was now all gone. After all, she needed to borrow money. If Damien could
lend to Chanel, then he would lend some to her. Although she would be borrowing more, he knew she
earned an annual salary of nearly two million dollars. She could pay him back.
“Could you lend me some money for now? I’ll pay you the same interest rate as the bank.” Clarissa
finally made her bid.
“No.”
Clarissa wanted to say she would return him part of it once she got the money from Eden Investment.
She would also pay him back more once she got paid for her teaching for next year. But before she
could say anything, she was rejected.
Clarissa couldn’t take his hateful personality. Once they got to the university’s gates, she got Damien to
stop the car and ran off in the direction of Marble Garden.
Damien didn’t drive into the university.
As she cut through a path on her way to Marble Garden, Clarissa saw Chanel. Chanel seemed to be in
good spirits.
Seeing each other, each had her own thoughts.
Clarissa was thinking about how Damien treated Chanel’s son even better than their own. He had lent
Chanel money, but refused to do the same for her. This contrast upset her deeply. Besides, Chanel had Ccontent © exclusive by Nô/vel(D)ra/ma.Org.
been avoiding Clarissa. It had been happening since Clarissa had brought them dinner at the hospital.
This was how the two women started to have strange thoughts about each other.
