Living With My Lady Boss

Chapter 1469

Jayla scoffed. "What, am I wrong? Getting into a fight in a place like this and embarrassing yourself in a whole other country! God knows how classless people like you even got in here. I'm embarrassed on your behalf. I can't believe you're still here."

"Miss Loss, what right do you have to push the blame completely onto me before even asking why the fight broke out?" Wilbur retorted while holding back his anger.

Jayla was a classmate of Faye's and she had told Wilbur to help Jayla out. Otherwise, he would have slapped her silly already.

Yet Jayla eyed him mockingly. "I don't care why it happened. Physical violence is never the answer. I suppose only animals like you would stoop to such methods to solve the issues you run into. Get out of the way. I'm on my way to meet my fans. Oh, and thank you so much for making me wait for so long."

Upon saying so, Jayla turned away haughtily and headed to the photo station with her bodyguards and assistants in tow.

Realization dawned upon Wilbur at last. No wonder Jayla had been so angry with him. She was blaming him for wasting her time.

Of course, Wilbur could also tell from her tone that she was far from nice.

Well, there was no way he would helping her out now.

Shaking his head, he turned to Elise. "Let's go somewhere else. Who knows, you might just bump into some big star."

"Sure!" Elise wrapped her arm around Wilbur's. "I can't believe Jayla Loss would be so arrogant. That was so rude of her."

Wilbur smiled. "I'm going to tell you the truth... I didn't even know she was a celebrity. What movie did she star in?"

"She's a D-list film star at best. She's been in a few TV shows and one movie. She's not that famous, to be honest." It seemed like Elise knew a thing or two about this.

Wilbur shrugged. "How are D-listers allowed at film festivals of an international level, though?"

"You never know. This industry's crazy. No outsider truly knows what's going on in there," said Elise.

Wilbur nodded. Faye had mentioned that the entertainment industry was one that was rife with drama and corruption before as well.

At the same time, President Brandon and Dillon were on a plane to Morburn.

Dillon sat right across from Brandon. "Mister President, I think we should have the banquet tonight."

"So soon? Will it be ready in time?" Brandon frowned.

Dillon nodded. "Don't worry, I've already got a team in the middle of setting it up. It'll be held at the banquet hall in the stadium where the international film festival is hosted."

"Is he going to say yes, though? I'm a little worried," Brandon frowned.

"We'll be hosting the banquet under the guise of celebrating the opening of the film festival. We'll invite a few big directors and actors over to make it look good. Don't worry, I'll be the one to tell Charlie and say that the banquet's already prepared. All Mister Penn needs to do is to show up."

"That makes sense." As president, Brandon at least knew that he had that much going for him.

On top of that, throwing the banquet under the guise of celebrating the film festival would look much better. At most, he would just have to keep his head down in front of Wilbur, so that he would feel his sincerity.

As long as the banquet wrapped up successfully, those lurking enemies would get the hint and back off for good.

After all, Wilbur had defeated Atrus. Once Brandon has established a good relationship with him, anyone trying to come after Brandon would have to consider going against this elite cultivator, and that would be more than enough to deter them.

After a long pause, Brandon smacked the table before him. "Let's go with that, then. Get in touch with Wilbur Penn as soon as possible, and make sure this goes smoothly."noveldrama

"Of course." Dillon picked up his satellite phone to do as told at once.
