Chapter 1406
Wilbur furrowed his brows. "Don't piss me off, or you'll regret it."
Jaden burst out laughing. "Listen up, motherf*cker! I've never met anyone I couldn't afford to offend, so you can drop the big talk."
"What did I ever do to you?" Wilbur frowned.
Jaden eyed him coldly. "Nothing. I just don't like your face. Got a problem with that?"noveldrama
Wilbur's expression darkened. "Watch your tone before you get yourself into trouble."
Jaden was about to respond when Elise said, "C'mon, Jaden. Cut it out." Jaden sneered at Wilbur. "Don't let me run into you again, or you're f*cked." Wilbur shook his head, turning to leave.
Elise chased after him. "Please don't mind him, Mister Penn. He's always been like that, I hope you don't take it to heart."
"I won't stoop to his level." Wilbur left for good after that.
Elise sighed, coming up to the two men with a scowl. "We're on foreign grounds, Jaden. Could you tone it down?"
"He should count his lucky stars we aren't in Dasha, or I would've ripped him a new one already," Jaden sneered.
Elise shook her head.
Just then, Connor glanced at his watch with a frown. "It's ten. We should visit Earl Hans."
"Let's go, then."
The three of them left the hotel and had a luxury car drive them straight to Earl Hans' castle.
Earl Hans was an extremely powerful person in Morburn, and even in Westeria.
Hans Angora's family had been around since before Westeria had even come to be.
The Sunset Dynasty had discovered the land of Westeria back then and colonized it to house over a hundred thousand of their convicts. They announced the land to be a territory of the Sunset Dynasty, and the Angora clan had been one of the families in charge of managing these convicts.
Following that, a large amount of minerals was discovered in Westeria. A large portion of these minerals was gold, which brought about a surge in gold mining and saw a dramatic increase in the Caucasian population by hundreds of thousands.
As the Caucasian population began to grow, more and more disputes between them and the locals of Westeria came about, which resulted in a large number of massacres and killings.
This resulted in hardly any aboriginal locals left in Westeria now, with most of their population being migrants.
The Angora clan had always been in charge of managing the people in Morburn.
Eventually, Westeria formed its federal government, and it was announced that the colonization of the Sunset Dynasty, as well as the position of the Angora clan, was now null.
However, Westeria had compromised a great deal and was still under the leadership of the Sunset Dynasty by name.
The Angora clan had also retained many of their positions of privilege and power.
They had been given a great deal of farmland and mines, Earl titles, as well as being exempt from paying taxes and national service.
Even now in Hans' generation, the Angora clan still had an astounding amount of power in Morburn to the point where even the governor of Morburn could not do much about their family. In fact, the government would still have to rely on the help of Earl Hans when it came to some issues.
Anyone who wanted to make it big in Morburn would need the approval of Earl Hans, or they would be destined to fail. This was pretty much a known fact in all of Morburn.
Not long after, the car stopped in front of a sprawling manor.
Elise, Connor, and Jaden got out of the car. They took in the sight of the manor
and the massive castle ahead, unable to help but marvel.
"Watch your attitude when you're talking to Earl Hans, Jaden," Connor said.
Jade glanced at the briefcase he was holding with a smile. "Don't you worry. I know what to do."
Connor took a deep breath and began to head toward the manor.
What do you think?
