Let's Start All Over Again, Shall We (Maggie and Nathaniel)

Chapter 117 Ouch

Accompanying Nathael to buy clothes had become a challenging task that Maggie couldn’t get past in her mind, especially since it seemed like he was intentionally tormenting her by not mentioning a time.

Maggie continued her studies as usual. Although it was an exchange program, the actual courses weren’t many

Instead, there were several seminars and field trips, and even several banquets.

During this time, Maggie got to know quite a few designers and also caught up with some familiar designers from Yatria.

Meanwhile, the Camerons jewelry company, after reorganization, re–entered the scene as Luster Corporation. They opened seventeen new stores nationwide. They also set up high–end showcases in the capitals of various countries abroad.

One day, Ronald’s call came through.

“Maggie, how are you enjoying yourself?‘ he asked.

Maggie wondered why he called. However, her voice tinged with joy, and she said. “It’s good, Dad. How is everything at home? I saw that the jewelry company is already open for business.”

“I called you specifically to talk about that. Although the company has been established, you know that our family’s main business has never been jewelry. Competing with the Adams is not easy, and they are definitely not to be underestimated,” Ronald said in a gentle tone.

“I understand, Dad.”

“I know that you must be hurt by Joseph and Vanessa being together. But Vanessa has gained the trust of the Adams, so we must make use of this opportunity.”

Ronald appeared to gauge Maggie’s response before adding, “If using Vanessa bothers you, we can explore other options. But remember, avenging your mother and our family against the Adams has to be settled.”

Maggie’s gaze was cold. Ronald used his usual tactic of advancing by retreating. His words sound pleasant, but she had to admit he knew her well.

When presented with such an opportunity, who would pass it up? After all, holding a grudge was the least productive solution. True to her nature, she would always consider the bigger picture and choose the most advantageous approach.

“Dad, things have come to a point with Joseph; we shouldn’t let go of this opportunity. Since Vanessa is favoured by the Adams, let’s use this to our advantage, Maggie spoke calmly, showing an appearance of having thought it through.

Hearing her resolve, Ronald reassured her, “With those words from you, I can rest easy. Don’t worry; as long as I’m here, Vanessa will never marry into our family. No matter what happens between you and Joseph in the future, I’ll never agree with the two getting married.”

Ronald vowed to reassure her. Maggie felt she should be moved to tears at this point

Since Ronald wasn’t in front of her and she couldn’t really cry, she pretended to be choked up. “Dad, you

“Let’s put this issue aside. Vanessa has given us information that the Adams are short on supplies. There’s been an issue with the source from Treye, and they won’t be able to supply gemstones and diamonds for the next quarter.”

Maggie frowned. A hint of scheming flashed in her eyes. She asked, “Could it be a trick?”

“No, I’ve had it checked. The gemstone from Treye has been snapped up by some businessmen from Ecroabar, and the Adams lost out this time. As for the diamonds, there was a collapse at a mine in Stoajan, and it’s a major accident.”

Hearing this, Maggie smirked coldly.

The fish appeared to have accepted the bait.

With Ericko on the inside and her on the outside, Ronald would surely be hooked.

She had to admit that Ericko was adept at his tactics. Ronald was suspicious and cautious; he would not easily be convinced.

“So, we’re going to seize the Adams‘ sources?” Maggic asked softly.

Ronald couldn’t help but acknowledge Maggie’s intelligence. If Sierra had possessed even half of her wit, she would have been welcomed back into the family by now,

“You guessed it right. The Adams plan to obtain goods from someone named Shawn Lewis to make for

up their losses. If we can take what Shawn has, we get the best of both worlds, ensuring our supply for the next season and delivering a heavy blow to the Adams.”

Maggie was not surprised. Shawn was her chosen target, and it seemed like her brother had made contact with him, then he deliberately leaked the information to Vanessa.

Ronald thought he had everything under control, but unfortunately, he had stepped into a trap from the

“Is this man trustworthy? What’s his background? Maggie expressed her doubt.

Ronald briefly outlined the information they had gathered and then moved on to the main topic. He continued, “As it happens, Shawn is in Yatria these days. You should find an opportunity to meet him and sabotage the deal between the Adams and him. I need you to seize the goods.”

After a long conversation, Ronald finally got to the point.

Undeniably, Maggie was surprised by the coincidence that Shawn was also in Yatria.

But it was just nice; it saved her time since she was already abroad.

“Dad, don’t worry. I won’t let the Adams succeed. I’ll make sure they get what they deserve!” Maggie asserted confidently.

Pleased, Ronald showed some superficial concern for Maggie before ending the call.

Once the call ended, Maggie kent a message to Ericko. She wrote, ‘Everything is going well.”

Ericko seemed to be free as he quickly called back. He said, “You are right. The government has launched an investigation into Shawn. They have been waiting for Shawn to receive a big shipment.” NôvelDrama.Org owns this text.

Maggie grinned and started to look forward to the Camerons losing both the money and stocks.

“Let the Camerons play the good Samaritan; they have the money anyway.”

Ericko laughed softly and warmly advised, “Take care of yourself.”

“Hmm, they haven’t grown suspicious of me yet.” Maggie wasn’t worried, especially after recently passing Ronald’s test.

Three days later, after attending a conference, Maggie stepped out of the hotel to find a black Bentley slowly pulling up in front of her.

Alex got out and opened the car door for her. He said, “Ms. Adam.”

Maggie caught a glimpse of the man sitting inside the car and felt a bit daunted. Nathael was dressed in a silver–gray suit, his face stern, and his dark and unfathomable eyes were stared right at her.

Maggie swallowed. She instinctively took a step back.

If only she had known… if only she had known, she wouldn’t have written that he was a pig.

Sighing, she had no idea how small the world was or how quickly they would meet again.

Actually, to be precise, she didn’t expect the world to be so small that Nathael would find her so quickly.

“Ms. Adam?” Alex’s gentle reminder brought her back to reality.

Maggie took a deep breath and decided she should just go through with it. After all, she’d seen every side of Nathael. What was there to fear?

He was just another human being with a head and two legs; there was nothing to be frightened of.

Moreover, he wouldn’t hurt her.

After she preoccupied herself mentally, she stepped into the car without further hesitation and accidentally stepped on Alex’s foot in the process.

Alex’s face contorted. His lips clenched tightly as his gaze involuntarily fell on Maggie’s high heels. He tried hard to suppress his pain, but his face twisted a bit.

Ouch! That…. hurt!
