I Refuse to Divorce

Chapter 71

Chapter 71

Aiden's assistant was taken aback. He realized she might have revealed too much and quickly covered it up, saying, "I searched it on Google."

Mason gave a faint smile, not delving deeper. After the assistant breathed a sigh of relief, he looked at Lilith.

Rumors had it that Lilith was exceptionally talented, but no one mentioned her having a limp. On top of that, that outfit of hers wasn't much to comment on, to be honest. Belongs to © n0velDrama.Org.

Lilith was especially excited. "You must be Aiden, right?"

The assistant smiled. "I am Aiden's assistant, David."

Lilith's enthusiasm instantly faded. So, it wasn't Aiden but just an assistant. She rolled her eyes in disappointment.

On the side, Ava sneered.

David was the most famous manager in the industry, holding many high-quality resources. Many young musicians tried to curry favor with him. Lilith, on the other hand, was nothing, yet she dared to roll her eyes. She was truly foolish.

As expected, when Aiden met them, David leaned over to whisper something.

Aiden furrowed his brows. However, Mason brought these people, so she forced a perfunctory smile.

Lilith sat next to Mason, feeling excited. As long as Aiden accepted her when she returned after completing her studies, she would be a globally renowned violinist. Then, she would be worthy of Mason.

In contrast to her excitement, Mason's meeting with Aiden was unremarkable. One was a veteran in the music world, the other a big shot in the business world. Both had sharpened their talents.

After half a glass of wine, Aiden started talking about financial difficulties.

"To be honest, Mr. Mason, classical music is difficult to sustain nowadays. My reputation may sound great, but it's quite challenging to make a mark within the country. Classical music is not well- received, and those nouveau riche are investing in reality shows. Who doesn't love seeing a little flesh here and there? Of course, Mr. Mason, you're different. You are a man of taste."

Hearing this, Mason smiled slightly.

He didn't give her money outright. Instead, he directed the attention to Lilith.

"I want to introduce you to someone, Mr. Aiden. This is Lilith Wright."

Aiden finally noticed Lilith.

He sincerely asked Lilith to play a piece for him.

Lilith was overjoyed and immediately played Ode to Joy.

Mason thought it was annoying and took a small sip from his cup.

Suddenly, he remembered Zoe, recalling her performance at the Imperial Hotel. She played several pieces that impressed him, even stunning him.

Before, he had no idea Zoe played the violin so well.

Aiden found Lilith's performance annoying, too.

However, masters were masters and wouldn't easily show their likes or dislikes. He didn't mention Lilith but changed the topic.

"Classical music is challenging now. I've always had a wish to embark on a world tour and truly bring our classical music to the global stage. Let those old blokes hear our compositions. Otherwise, it's always the same old 'Ode to Joy.'"

Lilith felt humiliated.

Even a fool could tell Aiden wasn't satisfied with her.

However, Lilith wasn't willing to give up this opportunity. She crossed the line and said, "Aiden, I can also perform—"

Mason interrupted her.

He lifted the antique cup with slender fingers and lightly clinked it against Aiden's.

Smiling, he said, "I'm quite interested in what you just mentioned. Please continue."

Aiden admired Mason to some extent.

A young tycoon in the business world, adept in handling situations. No wonder he had captivated his ideal student back then.

Back then, his model student gave up the pursuit of her dream to marry the love of her life. Yet now, she was nowhere to be seen. Instead, the love of her life was surrounded by another woman.

Aiden began with solemnity.

He slowly said, "A few years ago, I discovered an extremely talented student at the music academy. She played "A Pair of Butterflies" exceptionally well. I wanted her to be my student, and she almost

agreed. In the end, she got married to the Romeo of her dreams."

Mason's interest was piqued.

He held the cup and played with it lightly. "What happened next? Did she give up her musical dreams?"

Aiden's eyes started to burn.

Gazing at Mason, he said softly, "Later...she didn't fare well. Her family had problems, her husband had an affair, and she fell into mundane life. I never saw her again."
