I Refuse to Divorce

Chapter 70

Chapter 70

Mason frowned slightly and twisted the pen closed.

He remembered the sounds Lilith made during the meal. He could endure it, but he wondered if Aiden would mind.

Ava was indeed an experienced professional. Mason's eyebrow raised, and she already guessed his thoughts.

She assured him, "Mr. Mason, rest assured. I'll remind Ms. Lilith on the way to pay attention to table manners. Aiden, coming from a literary family background, should be quite concerned about this."

Mason remained silent.

Ava was confident she guessed right. She despised Lilith even more now.

'Eating like a pig and still thinking of marrying Mason? Dream on!'

However, it was evident Lilith didn't think the same way.

She had dressed up intentionally, wearing a white layered dress with romantic lace layers that complemented her face. Ava pushed Lilith's wheelchair downstairs, casting a disdainful glance from above. In her mind, Lilith was a hillbilly. She was short, and this distasteful dress highlighted it.

Upon reaching the car, Lilith was delighted. Since Ava sat in the front seat, Lilith had the privilege of sitting in the back with Mason.

Looking at Mason's expressionless face, she gathered the courage to ask, "Mr. Mason, how do you find my dress? Will Aiden like it?"

Up front, Ava discreetly coughed.

Mason politely glanced at her and said, "It's alright."

Lilith felt even more confident.

Her stepmother said men loved women in white.

Today, she had a mission. She not only had to have dinner with Aiden but also find a way to go home with Mason. If she pretended to be drunk and stayed overnight, she believed any man wouldn't be able to resist.

Once they slept with each other, she could demand a divorce from him without any guilt. He didn't love Zoe anyway.

While she was lost in her daydreams, the car came to a stop.

She thought Mason would carry her out.

He did that last time.

However, Mason got out on his own.

Instead, a 50-year-old driver came over to lift her from the car. Lilith, feeling wronged, refused to get out. Ava held the car door, her tone cold. "Ms. Lilith, Mr. Mason's time is precious!"

By now, Mason was already far away.

Ava was less polite now, and she straightforwardly stated, "Ms. Lilith, you were married before, beaten to disability by your ex-husband. Mr. Mason sympathizes with you, arranging your treatment and fulfilling your dreams. As for other matters, you shouldn't think too much about it."

She added, "Your mother caused trouble for Mrs. Zoe last time. Mr. Mason wasn't pleased."

Lilith didn't believe it. "How is that possible? Mr. Mason didn't blame me."

Ava sneered.

Lilith was too naive. Mason did not blame her to avoid tarnishing his image.

This fool seemed to have not felt Mason's recent indifference.

The mention of Lilith seemed to make him a bit impatient.

Women were most sensitive, and Ava's intuition told her Mason's heart was still with Zoe. This is property © NôvelDrama.Org.

Otherwise, he wouldn't have pulled back on his divorce.

While the conversation lingered, Aiden's assistant came out of the hotel.

Seeing Mason, she was enthusiastic.

"Mr. Mason, Aiden has long admired you and has wanted to meet you. Today is our first meeting, and Aiden has prepared your favorite peach blossom wine. We're determined to make sure you don't leave sober tonight."

Mason's brows raised.

He casually rolled up his sleeves and said, "Meeting Aiden is a chance encounter. How would Aiden know about my small preferences?"
