This is really nice"Ridwan said as he ate a spoon from the Jollof rice that had been served in front of

him. I was done cooking and had served our food. I sat next to Ridwan as I let out a smile on my lips

after the complement.

"Thank you" I replied. Ayo had decided to read in her room probably after sensing I and Ridwan

probably needed our alone time.

"You know what, I think we should go on a trip in December, we deserve it, we haven't really had

anything like an honeymoon" Ridwan suggested and I was overly excited about the idea.

"That's perfect, I really can't wait for it"I said as my face lit up.

"We should watch a movie after this"Ridwan suggested and then I just looked at him surprised in a

way. Today felt really different. It felt like this was what I had always wanted and now it was happening.

"Yes, yes!!" I said

We talked about other random things like his work place and how I really missed Lagos too.

"I really do miss home" I said

"You know I wouldn't want to be left all alone here" Ridwan said

"What if your mum comes to visit" Ridwan suggested.

"I have told her but she keeps complaining about how she doesn't want to leave her business."I

"Even if it's only for a few days, tell her I can pay all she would probably lose during those few days

to her" Ridwan said

"You know mother, she wouldn't agree. But I will try to persuade her again to see if it's going to work"

I said.

"I will talk to her too for you if you want" Ridwan suggested.

"No, don't bother" I said.

"I saw my dad the other day" I suddenly said after a few minutes. I hadn't really had the time to talk to

Ridwan about it since the only thing we ever did these days was fight.

"Really? What did he want and how did he find you" Ridwan asked curiously.

"Apparently, he called mother and told her he would like to speak with I and Karina and when Karina

came to Abuja last time, she had told him about where we were going and I saw him there" I explained.

"Did you talk, what happened" Ridwan asked

"I couldn't talk to him, how can I possibly just forget all he did to mother, I and Karina. He left and he

can't just come back now all of a sudden and start acting like the father he never really was" I explained

angrily.

"Did you give him a chance to at least talk" Ridwan asked and I was even more furious at the question.

Why was everyone's making it seem like I am the bad person her. What could he probably have to say.

He has no excuse for everything he had done. He made us go through hell.

"Why does everyone keep saying that, I am sure there is nothing he would say that it worth my time" I

said

"Let's not spoil the mood today, I think we should start the movie now" I suggested

"If you say so" Ridwan said. We both stood up to go and sit in the living room and put up the

movie.
