Chapter 492: I’ve Been Searching You
When Nate opened his eyes again, he saw Fannie crying by his side.
“Why are you crying? I’m not dead.” His voice was hoarse. Fannie abruptly raised her head to look at him.
“I’m crying for myself. I just found a good man and was about to marry him, but you’re not dead,” Fannie sneered.
“Ha-ha, I was just kidding. I won’t allow you to marry another man.” Nate tried to sit up but felt the great pain around his body once he moved.
A touch of sadness flashed by Fannie’s eyes, but she pretended that she didn’t care about Nate.
“Since you didn’t think about me at all, why should I care about you? To be honest with you, I already bought you a grave.” Saying that she threw a small book to his body. “You’ve survived this time, so you can keep it for the next time.”
Nate was annoyed. “What are you talking about? I’m not going to die so easily!”
Fannie stared at him with her arms crossed. “You better take care of your own life seriously.”
“I’m sorry. I promise it won’t happen again.” Nate comforted Fannie seeing her red eyes after crying for a long time.
All of a sudden, he heard noises from the next room. “Who is in the next room?”
“Lord Ethan,” Fannie replied.
Nate uncovered himself and got off the bed without delay. However, the second his feet touched the floor, he shouted in pain.
Fannie supported him at once. “What are you doing? The cast over your shin isn’t dry yet!”
“Help me. I need to see Ethan right now.” Nate clenched his teeth and laid an arm on Fannie’s shoulder, then jumped with one foot to the next room.
The moment they pushed the room door open, both of them were struck dumb.
Ethan was lying on the bed with an expressionless face, while Barbara lowered her head sitting aside. Adolph, instead, standing in the middle of broken pieces.
“He’s a jerk!” Adolph smashed another vase to the floor.
It seemed Barbara wanted to say something, but she lowered her head again after glancing at Adolph.
Fannie quietly pulled Nate’s sleeve and said in a low voice, “Nate, I think we should go back. It’s Ethan’s family affairs.”
“Do you know what I want to do now?” Nate said.
“No idea,” Fannie replied.
“I’ll make the situation worse,” Nate smirked.
Afterward, he jumped forward, and Fannie had to follow him up.
“Mrs. Parker, nice to see you again, and sorry to see you here.” Nate went in front of Barbara. He gave a glance at Ethan, who was like a dead person on the bed.
“Stephen is shameless trash. Once I catch him, I’ll grill him to feed Ethan.”
Barbara stiffened a little, then looked at Nate. “Nate, what happened to your leg?”
“It’s broken.” Nate turned to face Adolph. “It was hit and broken by a heavy falling beam. If I hadn’t moved away fast, it would have fallen down on Ethan’s head!”
Adolph frowned and felt a little embarrassed. “I can pay your medical fee.”
“Ridiculous.” Nate jumped to Adolph. He tried to grab Adolph’s collar but was caught by the wrist.
Nate got rid of Adolph’s hand with disdain on his face. “Your fake son killed your real grandson. What can you do about it now?”
Hearing that, Barbara was shocked. She thought Stephen had just abducted Kylie once again.
“Nate, w-what did you say?” She trembled a little in fear.
“Mrs. Parker, Stephen made a house the same as Garbo Palace No. 1, and deceived Kylie into having the prenatal examination there, then he aborted Kylie’s babies!”
“What? How is it possible?” Barbara panicked. She turned to ask Ethan, “Ethan, it isn’t the truth, right?”
Ethan couldn’t hear any sounds at this moment.
He was in his illusion now, and Kylie held his arm when they strolled along the beach of Coco Resort, followed by Pupu not far behind.
It was the first time that Fannie had seen Ethan being so upset, and tears dropped down from her eyes again. “I pray to God that Kylie is still safe and sound,” she whimpered.
“If God can really administer justice, someone might not be able to stand here!” Nate said and glanced at Adolph.
Adolph was embarrassed again.
“Um, Barbara, go out with me.” Adolph looked at Barbara.
“Mrs. Parker, don’t!” Nate stopped Barbara. “He’s creepy and…”
“Don’t worry.” Barbara interrupted him. “Ethan probably doesn’t want to see him either. I can talk with him outside.”
“Mrs. Parker.” Nate was still worried.
“I’ll be fine.” Barbara smiled at him.
Barbara followed Adolph walking behind and didn’t stop until they arrived at the nearby rehab center.
“What do you want to talk to me?” Barbara asked.
“Barbara.” Adolph rubbed his palms against each other. “Slap my face.”
Barbara was confused, staring at him.
“Come on!” Adolph grabbed Barbara’s hand and slapped himself with great force.
It was painful, and he felt hurt.
Adolph shook his head heavily, and rubbed his eyes, then looked at Barbara, who was still in confusion. “Jesus, you’re here. You’re really here!”
He beamed and pressed Barbara to his arms. “It’s not a hallucination! It’s not a hallucination this time! I’ve recovered from my illness!”
Barbara struggled and got rid of his arms, then slapped him again.
Adolph was surprised and struck dumb.
Tears welled up in Barbara’s eyes. She moved a step backward. “Adolph, don’t play crazy with me. I won’t forgive you! We broke up a long time ago, and we’re merely strangers now.”
Adolph calmed himself down. “No, impossible.” He looked at Barbara with his eyes full of love.
He caught her hand again, then forced her to hug him. “It’s been 30 years. I’ve searched for you for a whole 30 years.”
“You gave birth to my son, and you’re my beloved woman. We won’t be apart again.”
“No!” Barbara’s voice became hoarse after crying. “My son’s surname is Parker, and I’m Mrs. Parker now.”Content (C) Nôv/elDra/ma.Org.
Adolph straightened up his body all of a sudden. “Richard Parker? Did you really marry him? An ugly old man who is a dozen years older than you?”
Within seconds, Adolph’s attitude changed to the opposite.
Barbara noticed his change.
“Adolph, you must be sick!”
