Dumping Him for His Uncle (Natasha and Zachary)

Chapter 97

"I'll see you at the research facility tomorrow morning at 9:00 am," Zachary said as Natasha stepped out of the car. Then, he drove off.

Back in her room, Natasha couldn't shake the feeling that something wasn't right. She picked up her phone and called Liana.

"Do you think there's something wrong with Zachary? Or is he hiding something from me?" she asked.

Natasha rambled by herself. Suddenly, a soft chuckle echoed from the other end of the line.

"Liana, I'm serious. Are you even listening to me?"

Liana couldn't help but laugh. She quickly played along and replied, "Yeah, yeah. Mr. Foster probably doesn't want you to find out anything. That's why he's being all mysterious."noveldrama

There was a hint of amusement in her tone, but Natasha didn't press her about it. She just let it slide.

Once she hung up, Natasha took a deep breath and collapsed onto her bed. It felt amazing to rediscover something she was passionate about. All in all, Natasha felt content with today's events.

At first, when Zachary offered her the position of the project lead, she wasn't sure she could handle it. But since turning it down wasn't really an option, she decided to give it her all.

Because of that, she felt a sense of calm. In fact, it even helped her brush off the incident with Matthew earlier that day.

In any case, her routine was finally back on track. She slept soundly through the night.

...

The next morning, after getting dressed, Natasha cycled to the research facility. She had arrived quite early so the place was still mostly empty. Since she was already here, she figured she might as well explore a bit.

Yesterday, Zachary had only shown her around briefly. There were still a few key areas she wanted to check out for herself.

The moment she stepped inside, everyone's gaze turned to her.

Natasha was confused. She hadn't made a sound, so how did everyone know she had walked in?

"Look! It's the girl Mr. Foster brought in yesterday."

"I thought she'd be more stunning or something. She's pretty average. What's up with Mr. Foster's taste?" a group of girls whispered among themselves.

Natasha stood just far enough not to hear the snide comments.

Among the group of girls stood a tall woman. She had a graceful and poised presence.

Natasha looked up and met her gaze. From her appearance, she seemed like a gentle person. She gave Natasha a polite nod before turning back to examine the tools and instruments on the table.

Natasha had to admit that this research facility was far more advanced than the one back in Jindate. The equipment here would definitely speed up their research and improve accuracy.

As time went on, more people began to gather on the lawn outside the building.

Natasha stood beside Quentin. "So, what exactly are we researching?" she asked.

It was an important question to her. However, Quentin simply smiled and replied, "It's something you've researched about."

At first, she didn't understand what he meant. Then, it hit her. It was the topic she had presented at the academic seminar.

She had compiled all of the research data piece by piece. But at the time, it was just a spur of the moment idea. No one could have predicted how the research would develop or even the final outcome of it

"No way. It's not going to work!" she exclaimed.

At a high-level research facility like this in Fansville, every experiment came with a price tag in the tens of millions.

And her past research had been nothing more than a wild, unproven theory. She rejected the idea immediately.

Quentin gave her a helpless smile. "You weren't this nervous when you presented your findings at the seminar."
