Chapter 1551
Maja couldn't help but feel the encounter with the woman was too coincidental, and yet when they were
both caught up in a foreign land's black market, the woman showed no sign of panic.
But what Maja chose to believe was the genuine emotion in the woman's eyes when she spoke of
finding her brother. That kind of feeling couldn't be faked; perhaps she truly was here to look for
someone.
Later, as they entered the hotel together and caught sight of each other's faces, the woman showed no
surprise, confirming she didn't recognize Maja.
Maja sipped the broth from the bowl before her.
"She must be here to find someone," she mused.
Ian reached out, affectionately ruffling her hair. He knew Maja well; she appeared aloof but was tender-
hearted and struggled to be harsh to anyone. Her strong sense of responsibility was both a blessing
and a curse.
Anyway, he wouldn't force her to change.
After finishing her soup, Maja brushed her teeth.
When she emerged from the bathroom, Ian set aside his laptop and began to dry her hair, a moment of
intimacy they hadn't shared in a long time. Maja leaned against his chest, the warm air lulling her
towards sleep.
Ian's fingers weaved through her hair, and seeing her exhaustion, he gently massaged her scalp until
she drifted off. He tucked her in carefully before the phone rang.
"Sir, do we need to come to your hotel?" his man on the other end asked.
"Yeah, come over. I'll go downstairs to book rooms for you guys. There's a whole crowd coming soon."
"Got it."
Ian reserved the rest of the vacant rooms on their floor and elsewhere in the hotel. After making sure
his people would have places to stay, he called the underground fight club, directing Nydia to send
reinforcements.
Nydia, worried upon hearing he was in Cania, a place recently rife with chaos, said, "Isn't it a bit messy
over there?"
"I'm giving you a number, Nydia. Contact Walter; he'll know how to send folk over."
With flights to Cania grounded, only someone like Walter, with his global connections, could secure air
travel rights within hours. Ian could do the same, but it would take days, which he didn't have. He
wanted his people to fly over with Dylan.
The call was timely; Nydia immediately got in touch and dispatched her best fighters—fifty from the
underground club, all top-notch.
Ian brought them to safeguard Maja at the hotel. With her pregnant, there was no room for mishaps.
Once everything was in place, Ian showered and lay down beside Maja. All text © NôvelD(r)a'ma.Org.
A day later, Dylan and Walter arrived in Cania.
She faintly heard Ian's voice mingling with others, followed by the sharp crack of gunfire not far from
the hotel but not in the hallway. New chаpter avąilable on
Maja sprang up and peered out the window.
It seemed the recent outbreak had ignited unrest among the locals.
