Alpha Twins And Their Hybrid Mate

Chapter 103

"I don't like this, Ella," Nathan's voice was sharp, almost cutting through the evening air as I zipped my jacket. Tristan stood beside him, his face a mask of silent frustration. The twins rarely agreed on anything, but on this, they were united.

“I'll be fine,” I replied, keeping my tone calm, even though the tension between us was suffocating. "Sara's coming with me, and you two need to get back to Alaska. You know we have a pack to protect."

Nathan's eyes darkened. "You're walking into something we don't fully understand, and you're expecting us to just... leave?"

Tristan finally spoke up, his voice tight. "You don't have to do this, Ella. We can figure it out-together."

"I do have to do this," I said firmly, meeting both their gazes. "If something's wrong, I'm in the best position to find out. I'll be careful. I promise."

Nathan shook his head, frustration brimming beneath his stoic expression. "If anything goes sideways—"

"I'll call you," I interrupted, softening my voice, trying to ease the tension. "I'll be safe, okay?"

Tristan opened his mouth to argue, but a sharp look from Nathan made him close it. They knew I wouldn't budge. I had made up my mind, and no amount of protectiveness from them would sway me. They had to trust me.noveldrama

Sara strolled up beside me, hands stuffed in her pockets, a smirk tugging at her lips. "She'll be fine," she drawled, shooting the twins a sideways glance. "I'm basically her bodyguard. What could go wrong?"

Ryan appeared then, his brow furrowed as he approached Sara. "Be safe out there,” he muttered under his breath, his voice barely audible but carrying a weight of concern.

Sara's expression softened, just for a second, as she nodded. "I'll watch my back."

Twins were looking at me greedily and I knew if they could they would take me to bed directly. And, I was not coming back from it, may the witch be damned.

I am not complaining, I wanted to be there with them.

In the warm cocoon of their arms. They were my home.

The one I had been looking for for so long.

I couldn't help but smile at this, they loved me and this was the thing that I wanted the most in my life.

I looked at them and I couldn't help but move toward them, Nathan was the first to catch me and he knew my intentions.

He drew me closer from my waist and attacked my lips in ferocity. He wanted to devour me and I wanted to do the same. The kiss was nothing like gentle, it was deep, sensual and full of thirst.

Tristan came behind me and after so long I felt his intensity, his hand went straight to my hairs and he drew me closer as his lips locked on mine. If Nathan's kiss was devouring, his was mind raveling.

He was my undoing and he was making me a mess.

"Eww, guys. Just break it off." Sara scoffed and I chuckled as I withdrew.

But as we broke off, Ryan drew Sara in a warm embrace and he kissed her with the same intensity.

After they broke off Sara had some dazzled expressions, and he mumbled, "Oh now I know the feeling."

With a final look at the twins, I

turned and headed toward the car. The drive to Seattle was quieter than I expected. Sara wasn't filling the silence with her usual jabs or sarcastic remarks, and it left too much room for my thoughts to wander back to Celie. Something about our last conversation had felt... off. But maybe I was imagining it.

When we arrived at the lab, Celie was waiting for us at the entrance, practically bouncing on her heels. She beamed at me, her eyes wide with excitement, as though she'd been counting the minutes until we arrived.

"Ella! Sara! You made it!" Celie's voice was bright-too bright. She looked like a child on Christmas morning, her energy unsettling in its intensity.

I forced a smile, exchanging a quick glance with Sara, who raised an eyebrow. "Of course, Celie. You said you had big news?"

"Oh, it's incredible," she gushed, her

words tumbling over each other. "The vaccine-it's working! Over 30% of the werewolves have already received it, and the numbers are only going up! And the results... Etta, it's better than we could have imagined. Eighty percent of the effects of wolfbane, gone."

She was practically glowing with enthusiasm, and I couldn't help but feel a twinge

of discomfort. This was good news, yes. But Celie's reaction was... too much. She was always professional, composed. Today, she was anything but.

"That's... great," I said, trying to match her excitement but failing. "Eighty percent is more than we'd hoped for."

"It's a game-changer!" Celie exclaimed, barely registering my words. She started leading us toward the lab, still talking a mile a minute. "Soon, we'll have the entire pack vaccinated, and then—who knows? Maybe the other packs will follow suit. We'll be stronger than ever."

Sara shot me another look, this one laced with suspicion. I could tell she was thinking the same thing I was

Celie's behavior was strange-loane

chirpy too animated. But I shrugged it off, telling myself it was probably just excitement from her

breakthrough. After all, this was a huge step forward.

Still, something gnawed at the back of my mind, a quiet warning I couldn't quite shake.

We reached her office, where she pulled up charts and graphs, explaining the data in rapid-fire detail. I tried to focus on the numbers, but all I could think about was how different Celie seemed.

"You've done amazing work," I said, forcing myself to smile. "The vaccine is a real success."

"Oh, it's not just me," Celie replied, brushing off the compliment with a laugh that felt too forced. "You've been a huge help, Ella. I couldn't have gotten this far without you."

Her words were flattering, but they didn't ease the nagging feeling growing in my

gut. Celie was acting strange, and I couldn't ignore it any longer. Something wasn't right.

I glanced at Sara, who was studying Celie with narrowed eyes. She wasn't convinced either.

But for now, I pushed my doubts aside. We were here to finish what we'd started, and I couldn't let my suspicions get in the way. At least, not yet.
