Chapter 477: How Could He Be So Cruel!

Lily keeps refreshing her mailbox for more than a minute and finally sees the email with an audio file

from Victor.

But the email is too large to be previewed online.

It takes Lily a few minutes to download it. She turns down the volume and puts the phone to her ear.

She only hears footsteps at first but different sorts of sounds later. It seems that someone was

watching TV.

Lily speeds up the audio.

After a while, she hears in the audio that someone opened the door and entered, so she stops fast-

forwarding.

"Chloe, I bought you strawberries and cherries." Lily hears a man speaking in a low voice and some

footsteps.

"I go wash them in the kitchen and then watch TV with you. Is that OK?"

"OK." Chloe replied in a sweet voice.

Hearing their dialogue, Lily guesses from Chloe's attitude that this was when Louis brought Chloe back

from Country Y.

'Why did Victor arrange someone to put a listening bug in the room where Chloe stayed at the time?'

But Lily doesn't think further about it. She puts the phone to her ear and listens quietly.

She hears Louis chat with Chloe in a gentle tone. But whatever he said, Chloe only replied with "OK".

Lily can feel how sad Louis was at the time.

She feels upset too, so she speeds up the audio again.

After a while, she hears the doorbell ring and the voices of Justin and Leigh.

They chatted for a while.

Justin suddenly said, "Louis, why not let Coffey come over? When I showed Chloe his pictures, you

"Chloe, call the doctor quickly!"

When Lily wakes up, she sees the sun shining outside the window. It seems that it's morning now.

She also remembers that she fainted last night.

Lily grabs her arm and asks anxiously, "Where's my phone?"

Jessie hurriedly pulls her back, "Lily, calm down. This will hurt the baby."

Lily sobers up a bit and looks down at her bulging belly. All of a sudden, she feels endless sorrow deep

Lily shakes her head and forces a smile, "I just thought about Stella and felt very bad."

"I feel sorry for her too, but there's nothing that we can do," Jessie says with a sigh. "But Mr. Justin will

look after them, so don't worry. You should first take care of yourself and the baby in your belly."

"OK."

Jessie says softly, "Get some more rest. Tell me what you want to eat. I'll cook for you."

"When did you learn how to cook?"

Hearing this, Jessie's eyes darken. She purses her lips and says, "Cooking is not difficult. I've practiced

several times and know how to cook now. Alright, lie down and have a rest. I'll tell you when lunch is

Unable to fall asleep, Lily opens the bedroom door and goes out.

She vaguely hears Chloe speaking angrily, "Louis has gone too far. How could he do that! I don't have

such a brother like him!"

"Keep your voice down. Ms. Lily is sleeping inside," Jessie says. "Do you have to wake her up?"

"I guess Lily can't hear me..." Chloe mutters, but she lowers her voice.

Jessie says, "Anyway, don't talk about this anymore. Since Ms. Lily has broken up with Mr. Smith, she

has nothing to do with his life now. Got it?"

Still browsing her phone, Chloe replies disdainfully, "But Louis really doesn't have a good taste. This

woman is not as beautiful as Lily!"
