It was 8.45 p.m., Shirley had finished eating. Some left early.
Mildred stayed there for a while because of Mason while Kevin left with Arthur.
Just then, Shirley’s phone rang. She took her phone and looked at it, it was a message from Bryan, “I
will wait for you outside.”
She raised her head and looked at Mildred, Mason showed her something and she laughed happily.
Shirley did not disturb them when they played joyfully.
After she bid farewell with Mildred and Mason, she left ZC restaurant with her two children.
She saw Bryan standing beside the black car once she reached the entrance, the door of the car was
opened already.
Shirley took a glance at him. Then, she held Emma’s hand and helped her get in the car.
Shirley followed them after the children got in the car.
Meanwhile, Bryan bent his waist and talked to her, “You go inside a bit.”
Shirley was startled, she looked up at the co-driver seat and asked, “Don’t you want to sit in front?”
“I have something to tell you.”
After hearing that, Shirley could not help but move in and gave him a seat.
When Bryan got in the car, their arms got in contact. Shirley moved towards Jacob subconsciously.
Meanwhile, Emma grumbled, “Brother, don’t push me anymore. I am nearly pushed out of the window.”
“I don’t push you, daddy is pushing us,” Jacob said.
Emma turned and looked at Bryan, she stretched her hands affectionately, “Daddy, I want you to hug
me. It is too crowded, I don’t like to sit in the corner.”
“Mommy hugs you,” Shirley quickly stretched her hands and hugged Emma but Bryan acted faster than
her. He straight away lifted Emma and put Emma on his legs.
Shirley was speechless when she saw Emma sitting on Bryan’s legs.
She thought of the happening in the kindergarten on that day. Shirley felt that she should communicate
well with Bryan.
“What happened in the kindergarten today? Who harmed my children? Did his parents come? Did he
apologise? No, I am their mother, I should accompany them to the kindergarten tomorrow,” Shirley
looked at the scar on Emma’s left ear when she talked halfway, her heart cracked.
She agreed that it was not right for her children to create trouble in the kindergarten but it did not mean
that others could bully her children.
If the kid hit them, his parents must be called to the kindergarten. Then, they should educate their child
well at home and did not allow him to create trouble again.
The two children and Bryan listened to her nag, they did not intercept her words.
After she said that, Bryan explained patiently, “His mother is rude and arrogant, I am glad that you are
not there. Or else, it is not as simple as the case of fighting among kids.”
“What do you mean?” Was he criticizing her?
Bryan looked at Emma’s neck, “Don’t worry. Within three days, they will bring their kid and apologize to
Emma and Jacob. We can’t let them bully our children easily.”
Shirley was annoyed.
Why should she listen to Bryan regarding the matter of her children?
But she looked at the scar on Emma’s body. She was not that cruel to reprimand their behaviour on
that day, so she threw tantrum on Bryan, “No matter how, if this kind of incident happens again, you
should tell me first. Don’t forget the promise between us. Let me hug the child.”
Shirley stretched her hand and wanted to get Emma back but Bryan held her hand suddenly and said,
“There is a scar on your hand, you will make your scar worse if you hug Emma, don’t move anymore.
Furthermore, I have taken care of the children for the entire day, you don’t have to mind the remaining
time I have with the children. After we go back to the Moores’ Manor, you bring them back to Y villa. I
will wait for you at my place, you just stay well. Or else, you can check the scar on Jacob’s body.”
Jacob was stunned instantly and looked at Bryan.
Daddy, you did it purposely.
Shirley realized after hearing his words, she only concerned about the scar on Emma and did not
check Jacob’s body carefully.
She turned around and asked, “Jacob, do you feel any painfulness? Tell mommy if you feel pain,
mommy will check for you.”
Jacob quickly shook his head and stared at Bryan, he seemed to warn Bryan with his sight. Jacob said,
“Mommy, I am fine. The kid fought with Emma for the toy, not me.”
“But he hit brother,” after Jacob said that, Emma revealed the truth immediately.
Jacob was startled, he stared at Emma fiercely, “You know nothing. Mommy, Emma kept crying at the
time and wanted to get the toy.”
“Who kept crying? I did not cry,” Emma’s face was flushed, she denied it.
Shirley got some hints from their conversation.
The kid grabbed Emma’s toy and hit Jacob, Emma cried.
So, Jacob lied to her just now.
She frowned and stared at Jacob with fiery sight, “Jacob, how do I educate you before? Don’t lie to the
elders.”
Jacob curved his mouth and unbuttoned his clothes obediently. He pointed at the bruise on his left
chest and said, “I just bang into the corner of the table. Every man will have a scar. I don’t bleed, it will
recover after a few days.”
He said in a careless tone. He wanted to show that he did not really care about it.
However, Shirley cracked her heart when she saw his bruise.
She knew that Jacob was more mature and obedient than Emma but his maturity was out of her
expectation.
The bruise on his body was purple-black in colour.
It must be extremely painful.
Shirley thought of the moment Louis reprimanded her. She did not feel wronged at that time but she felt

She controlled her tears and took off Jacob’s clothes and said, “Turn around, let me see your back.”
There were a few scratches on his back.
When Bryan saw that, he felt sorry for Jacob, his heart ached for Jacob.
Emma cried at the moment and said, “Mommy, brother is always pushed by others but he never tells
you.”
“Emma, you talk too much. Can’t you shut up?” Jacob was anxious and turned around to stare at
Emma.
Emma did not bother him, she raised her hands and rubbed her eyes. She cried while saying, “They
laugh at us for not having a father. Besides, after they hit brother, they know that we don’t have any
parents coming over to scold them, so they get worse.”
