Chapter 415
Chapter 415
Arya stopped and slowly turned around, looking at Xavier standing in front of the stairs.
Xavier walked towards her. Just as he reached out to touch her, she dodged him and walked barefoot
towards the room.
Daisy came down from upstairs and happened to see this. Arya had never lost her composure at home
before. Even when Xavier was missing, she had never lost her mind.
Xavier withdrew his hand.
Daisy walked to the door of Arya's room, "Arya, I told him to go upstairs this morning..."
She didn't have time to talk to Xavier since Xavier came back. She didn't sleep much and got up early
in the morning to wait for Xavier. However, he wasn't up until almost ten o'clock, so Daisy woke him up.
Daisy thought that Arya's reaction was probably because she didn't see Xavier, so Daisy explained.
Arya sat by the bed and said in a low voice at the door, "I'm okay."
She didn't know what was wrong with her. Her mind went blank.
Perhaps she was scared that he would disappear again.
Thus, she was nervous, afraid that it was all her imagination, afraid that his kisses and hugs were all
imaginary.
She couldn't control herself.
The door clicked open.
The door of her room was pushed open. Instead of looking at him, Arya turned her head, wiping away
her tears while pinning her hair back.
Xavier looked at her bare feet. After a few seconds, he walked over and took her slippers, "You are so
angry." Content from NôvelDr(a)ma.Org.
Arya moved away from him and the slippers at her feet.
Arya sighed, "I know you're angry at me, but you have to tell me the reason."
Arya stood up in silence, unwilling to talk to him. She was about to go to the closet to look for clothes,
but as soon as she stood up, Xavier pulled her into his arms.
Arya pressed her hands against his chest and tried to break free of him. She pretended to be calm,
"What are you doing?"
Xavier held her arms and crossed them in front of her waist, making her unable to struggle. He kissed
her hair, earlobes, and cheeks. He exhaled in front of her cheeks. His breath was wet and soft, like
morning dew and fog, dispersing in the air. Feeling his breath, she felt bitter and sore.
She couldn't stand it any longer and struggled with all her strength. "Xavier! Can you tell me where
you're going in the future so that I can find you?"
When she woke up, she didn't see him. She thought everything of last night was just a dream.
She broke down in fear.
Xavier turned her around and pressed her head against his heart.
He stroked her back, and Arya's trembling body gradually calmed down in his arms.
Xavier knew why she was so agitated, and thus he didn't know how to comfort her.
He knew what it felt like.
His voice was low and deep. He pretended to be relaxed. "Okay, what about installing a GPS on me so
that you can know my whereabouts all the time?"
Arya pushed him. Seeing her smile, Xavier reached out to wipe the tears from the corner of her eyes.
His fingertips were warm but roughened. The corner of her eyes felt a little hurt.
When he came back yesterday, Bridget and Jacob had already left.
So they didn't know that Xavier had returned, and Xavier didn't know that they got married.
If he had come back a day earlier, perhaps Bridget and Jacob would not have gotten married.
Arya pursed her lips, fiddling with the buttons on his collar. "Bridget and Jacob are married. They
received the certificate the day you came back."
Xavier lowered his head, and she looked up. Their gazes met. "We all thought... You couldn't come
back. They are worried that I will be too tired to manage the company... So dad suggested that Bridget
and Jacob could be together..."
His tone was slightly cold as if he felt ridiculous, "Bridget and Jacob?"
"I couldn't stop them." Arya was also worried. After all, Jacob and Bridget were not together because of
love. They had known each other for so many years, they might have been together a long time ago if
they had feelings for each other.
Xavier patted her on the back, asking her not to think too much. "Have a good sleep today."
She didn't sleep until dawn, and it was eleven o'clock now. She slept only a few hours.
"But..."
As soon as she tried to continue, Xavier carried her up. She instinctively wrapped her hands around his
neck. Xavier lowered her eyes, "I'm here."
Arya rested her head on his shoulder. Yes, he was there.
Xavier leaned over and placed her on the bed. He propped himself up on elbows, stroked her hair on
her forehead, and inadvertently saw streaks of grey in her black hair.
In the past, her hair was black and none of it was grey.
He frowned very tightly.
Arya reached out and stroked his eyes and eyebrows, "I don't like to see you frown."
His emotions were running, and he lowered his voice. "Did you miss me?"
Arya turned around and said against her will, "No."
"It doesn't matter. I miss you." Xavier tucked her in.
Arya tilted her head, looking at him. She slowly closed her eyes.
Though she didn't want to sleep, she fell asleep unconsciously.
During Xavier's absence, she did not have a complete sleep. She often slept for two or three hours a
night, and failed to continue sleeping once she woke up and thus sat alone on the balcony all night.
Slowly, her breathing became more and more steady. Xavier knew that she was asleep, but he did not
leave. Instead, he quietly stared at her, the woman who was always in his heart.
He knew that she had been having a bad time these past few months.
He lowered his head and kissed her on her forehead.
She made him heartbroken.
Xavier sat in the room for a long time until he calmed down. Then he stood up and walked out of the
room.
"Dad," Ryan pounced on Xavier.
Xavier carried him up. He became heavy and strong.
Xavier carried him to the dining room and said as he walked, "I'll take you to kindergarten today."
Ryan blinked. Thinking that mommy took him to kindergarten many times recently, he asked, "Do we
go with mommy?"
Xavier looked at him, "Can't I take you to kindergarten myself?"
Ryan's arms were wrapped around his neck. He giggled, "OK."
After sending Ryan to kindergarten, Xavier called Jacob, asking him out to have a meet.
Last night was his wedding with Bridget, but they didn't sleep together.
He slept on the sofa in the living room.
Bridget wasn't up when he went to the company this morning.
It was quite awkward for two people who had no feelings for each other to live together. He was afraid
that Bridget would be unaccustomed after getting up and seeing him, so he left very early.
After dealing with business the whole morning, he was a little tired and planned to take a nap on the
sofa in the office. Just as he was about to fall asleep, his phone on the table rang.
He didn't want to answer the phone at this time, but he was afraid that there was something important.
He stood up and went to the table to pick up the phone.
"Hello?"
