Chapter 30
Chapter 30
The more Wren thought about it, the more he believed it was possible. Clara had pulled similar stunts in the past to get his attention. With how close she was to Lena, there was no way she wouldn't pick up Lena's calls.
It had to be a plan between the two of them to deceive him and to make him worry and force him to compromise.
Clara had played him well, and now, she had won.
Wren didn't care about anything else now. He just wanted to see Clara immediately.
He grabbed his phone and rushed out of the office, quickly hailing a cab back to the hotel. He didn't even bother packing. He grabbed his passport and documents from his suitcase and was ready to leave.
As he exited his room, he ran into Ivy. She looked surprised to see him, but before she could speak, she noticed the expression on his face and the passport in his hand. Her demeanor immediately shifted.
Ivy clenched her fists, staring at him. "Wren, why are you back so suddenly? Did you forget something? Why didn't you call me? I could've brought the stuff to you..."
Wren didn't hear a word she said. He acted as if he didn't even see her, heading straight for the door.
Ivy's panic skyrocketed. She couldn't afford to test Wren anymore. She rushed forward and grabbed his hand. "Wren, why won't you talk to me? Why do you look so upset? Did something happen?"
She forced a stiff smile, holding onto his hand as if afraid he would disappear if she let go. Wren turned back and gave her a cold look. "Let go."
The look in his eyes made Ivy shudder. Instinctively, she released her grip and stood frozen in place.
"Wren, what's going on?" Ivy asked.
She had never seen him look at her like that before. She bit her lip, and a flicker of fear crossed her face. "Why are you looking at me like that? It scares me."
Wren's eyes darkened with disgust. His mind was consumed with thoughts of Clara, and he had no patience left to play games with Ivy. If it weren't for her, Clara wouldn't have left.
He clenched his fists, struggling to hold back his irritation. "I have to go back to Phoypolis immediately. Stay here for a few more days. Once Willie's done, you can go back with him." "What?" Ivy gasped, taken aback by the sudden shift.
When she heard that Wren was going back to Phoypolis alone, her instinct told her it had to be about Clara. She immediately wanted to go with him.
However, Wren didn't wait for a second. After finishing his sentence, he stormed off without hesitation.
Ivy didn't even have the chance to speak. By the time she changed clothes and went downstairs, Wren was already gone.noveldrama
The driver had been waiting outside the hotel. Wren got into the car and instructed him to head to the airport.
On the way, Liam called, his voice filled with panic. "Mr. Zachman, all the flights to Phoypolis are fully booked today. There are no available tickets. The earliest is tomorrow..."
Wren cut him off coldly, "If there are no tickets, find a way to get one! I'm paying you a high salary. Don't tell me you can't even handle booking a ticket!"
Startled by his outburst, Liam didn't dare say another word. He quickly replied with a "yes" and hung up to figure out a solution.
The atmosphere in the car was thick with tension. Wren leaned back in his seat, his mind in turmoil.
The oblivious driver joked, "Why are you in such a hurry to get back to Phoypolis? Did you upset your girlfriend? Are you rushing to make it up to her?" Wren didn't respond, and his expression grew even darker.
What do you think?
