Chapter 575 Lovers-To-Enemies Trope?

Grayson forcefully pushed her away. "I made it clear to you long ago that I don't feel romantic love for you! What day and age do you think this is? What makes you think you can gaslight me into marrying you with your virginity? Have you forgotten that I am a doctor?"

As a doctor, he had witnessed countless bodies. How absurd was it to talk about virginity and purity with a doctor? To him, the body was merely flesh and bones. What could truly accompany him for a lifetime was a soul that resonated with his.

In the past, he had feelings for Ann because she had cared for him when he was sick as a child. Naturally cold and averse to social interactions, he had very few relatives and friends, so only a number in his family provided warmth.

"Grayson, don't walk away. I beg you, Grayson. I only have you!" She rushed over and hugged him, her cheek pressed against his back, tears streaming down her face. "Grayson, you're all I have! Don't you love me? Let's get married, I beg you. Let's do that!"

She was losing her sanity. She had calculated for so long, thinking he would marry her as long as she had sex with him. Despite considering countless possibilities, she never expected him to reject her.

Madeline was confused. "Did what? Leigh, you said you aren't drinking. A human language, please?"

"Oh, why are you so slow?" Leigh pouted. "A man and a woman, alone together; Ann has been eyeing Grayson. They did something. What else could it be?"

"Hahaha!" Leigh laughed maniacally. "Maddie, you're so civilized!"

Madeline was speechless and could imagine Leigh rolling on the bed, laughing uproariously. "Is it really that funny, Leigh?"

"Oh, trust me, it is. It's hilarious!" Leigh could not stop laughing. "Hey, Maddie, you know we all dislike Ann, right?"

"Yeah."

Madeline hesitated for a moment before responding, "Are you referring to Grayson?"

"Yes, yes!" Leigh nodded enthusiastically, a smile on her face. "Did you know? Ann practically drugged him and forced herself on him, demanding that he marry her. But guess what? He turned his back on her, not only denying their relationship but also despising her. He even publicly declared to sever ties with her!"
