Chapter 463
Chapter 463
The next morning, Skylar went to the office building where he had sent Coralie off last time.
He parked his car at the gate and looked at the directory of the office building in the lobby. There was
only one translation company, and it was on the fourth floor of the building.
He went right into the elevator.
"Hello, what can I do for you?"
After Skylar got out of the lift, the front desk receptionist asked the routine question without looking at
him properly. However, when she finally looked at Skylar's face, she was stunned.
This man was way too handsome, wasn't he?
"I'm looking for your boss."
"Boss? Do you mean Mr. Miles? "
"I think so."
The receptionist looked at Skylar and thought; it was obvious that even when he said that he wanted to
meet their boss; he did not even know who that was. It was not appropriate to just bring him to Mr.
Miles. Content is property © NôvelDrama.Org.
His handsome appearance did not mean that he wouldn't cause any trouble.
"Well... May I know why you are looking for Mr. Miles?"
The receptionist asked cautiously; she was afraid that she might say something wrong and upset
Skylar.
It would be best for her to keep Skylar for a while regardless of his real identity.
"What's the matter? Can we help you?"
Several women came out from the office of the translation company.
Usually, they wouldn't have come, but now that there was a handsome visitor in the company, they
could not help but come and talk to Skylar.
"Yes, that's right," another woman added.
"Where is the office? I'll go in myself."
Skylar scanned the structure of the office. There were three corridors there, but he couldn't tell which
one led to the boss's office.
"Sir, if you have anything to tell Mr. Miles, I'll pass on the message for you. Please don't make things
difficult for us."
The receptionist frowned a little when Skylar asked for the direction of the office. She was starting to
get impatient.
However, she did not have the courage to do anything before she confirmed Skylar's identity.
After hearing this, Skylar went on and said, "Okay, I'm ..."
"What's going on? Why is everyone gathering here? Collecting your parcels?"
Before Skylar got to introduce himself, Luke Miles came out from his office and saw a bunch of his
employees from the finance and also administrative departments. They were all standing in the hallway
and he was naturally unhappy about that.
"Mr. Miles, this gentleman is looking for you."
The receptionist quickly introduced Skylar to Luke when she him come out.
Those women immediately made way for Luke, and returned to their office hurriedly.
Skylar was holding an envelope in his hand. He looked at the chubby man in front of him and asked,
"Are you the boss here?"
"Yes, how can I help you? " Luke was quite confident at first, but when he saw Skylar's striking and
bold eyes, he felt slightly terrified.
"I have something that I would like to discuss with you. Is there any place for us to do that?"
The reason that Skylar did not state the reason for his visit was because he knew that Coralie liked to
keep a low profile, as low key as possible.
If he just stated his reason there, Coralie's real identity would be exposed to the public.
Luke noticed that Skylar possessed a strong aura, but he was not arrogant when he spoke. Thus, he
held three of his fingers up and said, "For your information, I hate anyone who has these three
characteristics. First of all, someone who's taller than me; secondly, someone who's more good looking
than me; and lastly, someone who's richer than me. You have two out of three, so there's nowhere else
for you to discuss it. Just say it right here!"
"I actually fulfilled all three of them," Skylar told him.
"All? You are too arrogant. Do you think that this is the only company I own?"
Luke briefly glanced over Skylar's outfit; he was wearing a high-quality handmade suit. However, Luke
thought that he could also afford this type of suit, even though it would be a little difficult.
He didn't think that Skylar would be someone who was from a high social status.
Skylar had only planned to help Coralie to get the pay that she desired, but he did not expect her boss
to be so arrogant.
"Is this you?"
The receptionist raised her phone and asked in shock after taking a photo of Skylar and searching it
through an image comparison software.
Everybody shifted their eyes to the 5 inch tall phone screen.
It was a screenshot of Skylar cutting a ribbon for a project, and the title of the screenshot was, "Skyton
Corporation's boss at the ribboncutting ceremony".
Luke ran over and looked at the photo on the phone, and he compared it with Skylar's face. His face
turned pale immediately.
"Oh, it's you, President Holland!" Luke's face instantly lit up. He ran over to Skylar and said, "I thought
you looked familiar just now, but I did not expect that you would pay a visit to my company at all!"
"Oh, I see."
Skylar replied blandly.
"Please come in, President Holland." Luke immediately invited Skylar into a room and ordered the
receptionist, "Make a cup of the Green Mountain coffee."
"Noted."
The receptionist received the order and went straight into the pantry to make the coffee.
Luke was a very stingy person. He had always kept his Green Mountain coffee to himself and never
shared it with anyone. However, he was willing to make it for Skylar now.
Skylar followed Luke into his office and sat on the sofa. Then, he threw the envelope onto the table.
"Well, please have a look."
"Oh, okay."
Luke opened it obediently and dared not ask what was inside. He then saw that there were two
translated documents in it.
However, there were quite a number of errors on the documents. Someone had changed the wrong
parts by writing notes on it with a red pen.
Luke started to sweat when he saw this.
How could he be unfamiliar with this?
Coralie had just sent him the revised documents that morning, and Luke was feeling delighted as he
thought that he had found a treasure. However, now that Skylar brought this document over...
"Do you know what this is?"
Skylar was the one who was dominating the situation even though they were inside Luke's office.
"This is a translation document that I gave to Coralie Chariott. How could this end up with you,
President Holland?"
"How much are the translation fees for these documents?"
Skylar didn't answer Luke's question. Instead, he threw another question at him.
"The fee was paid based on word counts, and it's roughly... 350 dollars." Luke's hand which was
holding the documents was trembling as he answered.
Everyone in the translation industry knew that even though it was the same type of translating job, the
fee was paid according to the document's type and difficulty.
At first, he had only wanted Coralie to translate some routine documents with a lower pay, but slowly,
he found that Coralie would always receive amazing help from someone. Besides, she was desperate
for money. Thus, he decided to give the difficult jobs to her.
"There are more than 1,000 documents with similar difficulties in my company that need to be
translated. You can help me do the job, but with this price. What do you think?"
The receptionist brought in the coffee, and the scent of it filled up the office.
Skylar knew that it was good quality coffee as soon as he caught a whiff of the scent. He took a sip of
the coffee, looked at Luke and repeated, "What do you think?"
"Erm..."
Luke knew that if he had to translate the 1000 documents with this price, he would suffer a great loss.
"What's wrong? Is the price too high or too low? If you think that it is too low, then I'll increase the price
by 10% for each word."
Skylar said slowly while drinking his coffee.
