You Complete Me novel (Skylar and Coralie)

Chapter 457

Chapter 457

"I will always be good to you."

Harvey had so much to say, but his body wouldn't allow him to do so. He could only outline the

important points.

"Why are you always hemming?" Looking at Harvey's upset face, Xenia pouted her lips unhappily and

said, "I have said that I'd like to. I'll knock you out if you wish to ramble any further."

Pfft!

Doctors who were standing aside couldn't help but laugh when they heard this.

Xenia was probably the only person who could brave an operation with such a mentality.

"Okay, it's time to get you anaesthetized. You can save your lovely conversations for later."

The head surgeon glanced at the time and said.

"Okay. Harvey, you must stay alive. I'm waiting for you to marry me," Xenia stated.

She took one last gaze at Harvey before she closed her eyes.

In fact, she was afraid too. Her physical health had always been perfect since the day she was born.

She had never been ill, not even from appendicitis! Now that she had to cut an opening in her stomach

and remove a part of her liver, it was almost impossible to not be frightened.

However, she knew that she had to save Harvey, and being afraid was not going to help that.

She could not stand watching Harvey leave her, nor this world.

"Xenia."

"Hmm?"

"I love you."

These were the last words she heard from Harvey before she got anaesthetized.

She fell asleep right after that.

It felt like she had been sleeping for a really long time... When she was finally able to open her eyes,

the first thing she heard was a beeping sound.

It was from the medical device.

Xenia glanced at her surroundings. She was in a hospital ward. She was alone in the ward, and she

was receiving an IV drip.

She reached out to touch her stomach gently; there was a small wound on it. It still hurt a little as she

touched it.

"Phew! I'm still alive!"

Xenia muttered to herself. Those words that Harvey had said to her before she went unconscious were

still lingering in her mind.

It felt quite ominous, now that she thought about it.

"Nurse!"

Xenia couldn't feel at ease without seeing Harvey and she wanted to reach out her hand to press the

call bell, but the pain in her wound stopped her from doing that. She had no choice but to raise her

voice.

Her voice was still very loud, even though she just woke up from a surgery.

"You're awake."

The nurse heard her voice and came in immediately. Xenia looked at her with her eyes wide open.

"Xenia!"

As soon as the nurse walked in, a few people came in too.

It was her grandfather, Augustine, and her parents.

"Grandpa, Dad, Mom, Why are you here?"

Xenia knew that she was in trouble when she saw them. She did not plan to inform her family members

about what happened, and if Augustine and the others had known about this, they would've never

allowed her to do this.

"Why are we here? What plan did you have in mind if we weren't here? Do you wish to give your life to

that man? "

Xenia's mother, Lindsay, was a little anxious.

"Yeah, how could you hide this from us? "

Xenia's father, Hogan, questioned while pointing his finger at her.

"I'm an adult. I can make my own decisions."

"Your life has been given to you by your parents,"

Augustine, who had remained silent all this while, said to Xenia.

Xenia couldn't respond to this. Even though her relationship with her parents was not great, she was

very close with her grandfather.

"Exactly! Are you planning to hide everything from us in the future?"

Hogan inquired anxiously on one side.

"Yeah, how do you feel right now? Is removing a small part of your liver going to affect anything? Shall

we find a replacement for you?"

Lindsay asked worriedly.

Xenia could not stand all this fuss right after she had just woken up from a surgery. It felt like her brain

was exploding anytime soon. "The care that you're showing within these few minutes, it's almost

comparable to the total care that you have given to me for all these years," she remarked helplessly.

"We are going to have to do a check-up on the patient. Could the family members please wait

outside?"

Andie said while walking into the room, resolving the awkward situation.

"Okay."

The three of them went out immediately after listening to the doctor's words.

As soon as they left, the ward regained its silence.

"How do you feel?"

"How is Harvey?"

Dr. Lanes wanted to check on Xenia's condition, but he did not expect the first thing that he heard from

her would be her asking about Harvey.

He shook his head helplessly and remarked, "Both of you didn't even care about yourselves after

waking up, but instead chose to ask about the other. I should've arranged for the both of you to be in

the same room."

"Is he awake?"

Xenia felt much more relieved when she heard that Harvey was awake.

This meant that he was still alive.

"Well, he woke up slightly earlier than you, but his situation is different from yours. You should be able

to visit him in a couple of days, but for him, he is still under observation,

Andie answered while checking on Xenia.

"Is that so? That's great. He's fine, isn't he? The operation was successful, wasn't it?"

Xenia saw that Andie's expression wasn't clouded with worry, so she finally became relieved. Harvey

was probably fine now.

She couldn't wait any longer to see him.

"Well, we had help from the best surgeons," Andie replied as he glanced outside. "Are those your

family members? The hospital will be managing your diet for the following days, so don't take any

outside food, especially supplements."

"Alright."

Xenia nodded. She was too lazy to ask for the reason behind the doctor's instructions. To her, as long

as Harvey was fine, she was fine with everything.

"Okay, and don't get out of bed for today."

"Alright."

As long as the operation was successful, she was fine with whatever the doctor said.

However, just as she was about to take a nap, she heard a commotion outside.

"I'll go and have a look."

Andie put down the things in his hands and walked out immediately. He was afraid that there might be

some conflict between patients and doctors.

However, he noticed Lindsay and Laura facing each other, looking so fierce, as if they could jump on

each other and start a fight.

Three men standing at the side seemed like they were trying to give advice.

"What's going on?"

Andie quickly trotted over.

"Doctor, why can't she donate her own liver to her sick son? Why must it be from my daughter?"

Lindsay did not let go of the chance to question Andie.

"It was your daughter who volunteered to do that! " Laura replied arrogantly, before Andie could say

anything.

"Volunteer?" Lindsay was furious when she heard this. She shouted at Rudolph, "Rudolph Felton, are

you trying to take advantage of my daughter?"

"No, no, it's because I have a fatty liver so my liver can't be used,"

Rudolph was really bad at dealing with women, especially with Lindsay and Laura who were arguing. It

felt wrong to pick a side.

Hogan, who knew Harvey was Rudolph's son, felt a little uncomfortable, but he did not say anything

about it.

"Your son is sick so why should it be my daughter who donated her liver? What are you planning to

do?" NôvelDrama.Org owns all © content.

Lindsay was very unhappy.

Looking at this situation, Andie pulled Augustine and Hogan to the side and whispered, "Dr. Felton's

liver was ruptured because he was trying to save Xenia..."

He was hoping that Augustine and Hogan could help on advising them, as the situation now could

affect other patients in the hospital.
