Chapter 309
Coralie stayed with Skylar at the rehabilitation center for two days.
On Sunday night, Coralie told Skylar that she would be headed back to the city, and that she would be
back to accompany him the next weekend.
Skylar nodded. Since four o'clock in the evening, Skylar's car had already been on standby at the
entrance of the rehabilitation center. The weather outside was cold, but Skylar insisted on sending her
to the entrance.
"I'll be off then. See you next week." Coralie said.
"Okay." Skylar's expression was unchanging, but as Coralie turned to leave, he pulled her to his side
and kissed her again. He said softly, "I'll wait for you."
Skylar kissed Coralie right in front of the medical staff.
The nurse next to them cried out, "Wow!"
"Alright, go."
Skylar knew that Coralie was shy, so he tousled her hair and sent her away.
As Coralie got out of Skylar's car when she reached home, she saw Wayne carrying a bag of
vegetables from afar with Hendric.
"Dad's car!"
Hendric shouted in glee at the sight of Skylar's car.
In the few months Hendric spent together with Skylar, he rode in the car every day. Hence, it comes as
no surprise that he would recognise it.
"Coralie? Have you reconciled with Skylar?"
Wayne knew that Coralie had left a message saying that she would be away over the weekend, but he
did not know where she went. Seeing Coralie arrive in Skylar's car, he had a hunch.
"Yeah."
Coralie nodded with Hendric in her arms.
Hendric knew the Skylar that Wayne mentioned was his dad. He quickly wrapped his arms around
Coralie's neck and said, "Mom, I miss Dad. Can we go see him?"
In the face of Hendric's question, Coralie hesitated.
After all, with Skylar's current state, she definitely did not want Hendric to see him. If Coralie wanted to
bring Hendric over, she would have to discuss it with Skylar first.
"Hendric, Dad is very busy with work. When he's available again, I'll bring you there, okay?"
Coralie carried Hendric up the stairs.
Wayne followed behind them.
Wayne asked, "Coralie, what time do the staff of Skyton Corporation get off work?"
"Get off work?"
Coralie turned to look at Wayne. "Why is he asking about Skyton Corporation?" Coralie thought.
"That's right." Wayne said.
"Why the sudden interest? Do you want to work for Skyton Corporation?"
"No, no." Wayne hesitated and said, "To be honest, Jamie has recently taken up a position in Skyton
Corporation. I want to know what time she gets off work so that I can pick her up."
Wayne had once said that if Coralie and Skylar were together, he would woo Jamie George.
This was actually nothing more than an excuse. Wayne had been in love with Jamie since he was in
college, but due to Coralie's influence, he always felt that there was a gap between the two families, so
he did not dare confess.
However, Wayne had recently been promoted to a supervisory position at the bank he worked at due to
his stellar performance. He thought it would be a good opportunity as any for him to now confess his
feelings for Jamie.
"6 p.m."
"That is a little after I get off work. Great!"
Wayne was turning 25 this year while Jamie was turning 26. Both of them were at the right age to get
married.
"Wayne, if you want to pursue Jamie, you know what you'll be getting yourself into, right?"
Coralie said as Wayne was about to unlock the door. They were already at the entrance of the house.
"Yes."
Wayne faltered.
He knew what Coralie meant. When Coralie wanted to be with Skylar, she faced many problems with
the Holland family.
Although the George family was nothing compared to the Holland family, they were still much better off
compared to the Chariott family. If Wayne wanted to pursue Jamie, he would definitely be under a lot of
pressure.
"Coralie, I've given it some thought. Actually, I've been thinking about it for years. When Jamie was
abroad, I thought that if she never came back, I would not be able to court her. However, she is now
back, and still single. I should strike while the iron is hot."
Wayne explained.
"How did you know she was still single?" Coralie asked.
"I follow her on Twitter. She has a habit of posting everything there, be it something happy or sad. She
even puts her homework and her thoughts or worries there, so things tend to get pretty personal. In
fact, she mentioned that she wanted to watch the new Spiderman movie several days ago but had
nobody to watch it with."
As Wayne talked about Jamie, he could not help but ramble on and on.
"Look at you, being all attentive, eh?" Coralie teased.
As Coralie listened to Wayne, she realized that he felt strongly about Jamie. In this case, Coralie had
no reason to object.
Just like Skylar and her, they have been through a lot of ups and downs. This made their happiness all
the sweeter.

It was Monday.
Wayne waited at the entrance of Skyton Corporation, holding two Spiderman movie tickets.
He had just begun work so he did not own a car, but he planned to call a cab to take Jamie to dinner
and the movies.
Of course, Wayne did not tell Jamie beforehand.
He wanted it to be a surprise.
When Wayne stood at Skyton Corporation's door, he saw a brand-new sports car parked next to him. It
was a very cool yellow colour, and a man stood next to the car, holding a bouquet of red roses in his
hand.
Wayne felt a pang of regret at the sight of the roses. He should have bought some flowers.
Girls loved flowers.
Wayne looked at his watch. It was ten to six. He still had time to buy some flowers if he hurried.

door in a hurry with flowers in his hand.
When he was still 70 or 80 meters away from the door, he saw Jamie coming out of the Skyton
Corporation Building.
"Jamie!"
Wayne shouted as he ran towards Jamie.

handed the red roses to Jamie.

flowers.

Wayne stood where he was and laughed at himself.

it?"
"Nothing happened. Jamie already has a boyfriend."
Wayne forced a smile on his face as he ruffled his hair.
"She has a boyfriend?"
"Yes, he's a rich man, driving an expensive sports car. I'm far worse than her boyfriend."
Wayne's face was frozen in a smile as he took off his coat. Dejected, he went back to his room.
