You Complete Me novel (Skylar and Coralie)

Chapter 158

Chapter 158

When Coralie Chariott returned home, she saw Wayne Chariott and Hera Jean in the living room.

"How is Skylar?"

As soon as she entered the door, she was first greeted with a question from Wayne, regarding Skylar.

After all, Skylar had suffered a serious injury that day.

"He's had a successful operation, but he still needs to rest for two days."

Coralie's mind was in a mess because of her job transfer.

Although her mother was receiving retirement pay, it was only a meager amount. Wayne was still in

university. He could take care of his living expenses with his scholarship and his part-time job, but they

would not be able to cover the tuition fees.

At this moment, Coralie was really glad that she still had the money that was given by Skylar last year.

Otherwise, her family might have to scrape by on the breadline.

"Coralie, is this my fault? I was at my wits' end that day, so I sent him an email with your computer."

Coralie patted his shoulder, "No, maybe things would end up messier with Howard if Skylar hadn't

arrived at the nick of time."

"Then... is the Holland family treating you badly? If they don't like you, you don't have to be with Skylar.

When I graduate, I will support you and Mom."

Wayne patted his chest and promised.

"Where did you hear these? This is between me and him. You're still young, don't involve yourself with

this."

Coralie smiled unnaturally. She put on her coat and had the urge to flee from everything.

Whether it was work or the matter with the Holland family, Coralie felt that this was her own business

and she should resolve them all by herself. She wanted to keep Wayne and Hera out of this.

"Coralie," Wayne pulled her, "Do you remember the senior whom I had told you before? When she saw

your photo that day, she told me that Skylar was her cousin. She was the one who filled me in, and I

know how the Holland family had treated you badly."

"Senior? Is she Skylar's cousin?"

Coralie frowned.

She remembered that Wayne had told her about his senior before, and they had a good relationship.

Even though Wayne hadn't come clean about his admiration, she could see that he liked his senior.

"Yeah. Her name is Jamie George. She said that she had seen you before."

As soon as she heard her name, a thought sprung into Coralie's mind.

When Grandmother Holland was discharged from the hospital, she came across a girl with short hair.

Different from the others in the Holland family, Jamie showed a good attitude towards her.

"It's her..."

"You do remember her, right? A few days ago, I confessed to her thanks to your encouragement. She

told me that she would consider it."

When Wayne was talking about this, his handsome face was slightly flushed, looking exactly like a

young boy speaking about his first love.

However, when Coralie heard this, she got slightly concerned. After all, Jamie was Skylar's cousin. She

asked, "Is their family wealthy and reputable?"

Coralie didn't know much about the rich families in A city.

However, if Jamie's family turned out to be equally rich, her parents would probably not be much

different from Lillian Ford.

They must have made plans for their daughter.

Coralie couldn't figure it out. A City was so big, and it was never short of girls. Why did Wayne have to

fall in love with Skylar's cousin?

"No way? I don't know much about it either. She never mentions it."

"Is that so?"

Skylar did not mention his family during their university days either. At that time, she had foolishly

assumed that Skylar was just an ordinary person who was slightly more outstanding than his peers.

Who would have thought that he came from a super-rich family and would eventually become the

President of a company?

"Coralie, why don't I ask her about it? If she's also from a rich family, I think it'll be better for us to just

stay as friends."

Wayne understood what Coralie was worried about.

Coralie had never been querulous at home, she pretended that everything was good. However, he had

heard some unpleasant news before, including Lillian's slander of her mother.

Coralie stood there for a long time, contemplating if she should just let her thoughts known. She then

told Wayne, "For your love, I think it's better to put the flame out when it's still an ember."

Now that she was deeply entangled in it, she knew how difficult it was if their family were to get

involved with an affluent family like the Holland's.

She walked out scathed, both her physical and mental. In the end, her efforts might not even bear fruit.

Furthermore, she was a woman. Wayne was a young man, and the insinuations and slanders targeted

at him might be even hurtful.

"I know."

Wayne nodded solemnly, his expression disheartened. © 2024 Nôv/el/Dram/a.Org.

"I'm sorry," It was upsetting for Coralie to see Wayne like this, but she knew that she had to tell him the

harsh truth, "I just don't want you to go through the same suffering as I did."

"Yeah, I know that you are doing this for my own good."

After Wayne finished speaking, he went back to his room.

However, disappointment clouded him.

......

Coralie went to Skyton Corporation to pack her things up the next morning. She planned to head to the

Southern Court Warehouse in the afternoon.

As soon as she stepped into the office, Joanna Thomas laughed at her, "Wow, I'm really envious that

you could go to the Southern Court Warehouse. I heard that there is nothing to do there. You could laze

around all day long."

"Then I'll ask the superiors to transfer you there instead of me."

Coralie refuted.

"I do want to swap places with you," Joanna fastened herself on her seat without any sign of getting up.

She watched as Coralie packed her things, "But I'm wise enough. I stay away from seducing someone

who is not at the same level as me. Otherwise, I would have been packing my things now."

Joanna had long been indignant because of Skylar's love for Coralie. Now that Coralie was transferred

away, she had to grab on the chance and gloat as she liked.

"Coralie, you, you will come back, won't you?"

Felicia trotted over and helped Coralie with her belongings, her face hanging a reluctant look.

She was a newcomer, and Coralie was her closest colleague in the office. Now that she had to leave,

Felicia found it hard to bear.

"Who knows?"

In fact, Coralie didn't even know who was the one who had transferred her. It couldn't be Skylar.

She supposed that Anthony Holland would be the most likely one.

She heard that Skylar had handed over his work to his assistant before entering the detention center.

However, after Anthony came back, he took over managing the Skyton Corporation.

After Coralie packed her things up, Felicia sent her off.

Felicia hugged Coralie in the elevator, "Coralie, you know that I admire you a lot. I hope that you would

come back. I will mention this to Director West after a while and see if he could transfer you back. I

remember that he likes you very much."

"Thank you, Felicia," Coralie's hands were occupied so she could only smile at Felicia, "I'm just an

insignificant employee. The reason behind this matter is complicated."

"Then I will miss you."

After Coralie said goodbye to Felicia downstairs, she walked away with her things in her arms. Then,

she saw a black car at the gate of the company.

Coralie peered over and saw Anthony sitting in the driver's seat with a beautiful woman in the

passenger seat. The two of them were very close to each other and they looked intimate...
