CHAPTER 153
Chapter 153 The Best Pupil
“Did you send me the pictures?” William went straight to the point and asked about the pictures of Daphne kissing another man.
“What pictures?” Emelie asked.
She then turned the conversation around. “Since we’re talking about pictures, I want to ask you to watch your woman.
“If you don’t want anyone to know your past, then don’t share what others did. Does Daphne think she could do all that without leaving a single trace?”
William smirked. “What can you do even if there’s a trace?”
“I know you’re helping her, and you can remove all traces of what she has done. However, even a rabbit will go berserk if you corner it.Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.
“I don’t have much except for my friends and family. I’ll do anything to protect them. Comer me, and I’ll make sure to get my revenge.”
William coldly stared at her. “I’m just worried you might lose everything in the end.”
He looked aloof and fearless. Her threats were nothing to him.
Emelie said softly, “You might not know this, Mr. Middleton. Ever since I left your company, there have been many companies that would like to buy trade secrets from me.”
William was indifferent. “So? Do you dare to sell them?”
If she dared to leak even a tiny bit of classified information from Cloudex Corporation, he would get her locked up forever.
Emelie calmly said, “I won’t dare to do that now because I still have people that I care for. I want to live. However, if you and your men continue to corner me and the people I care the most into a dead end, I’ll make sure everyone dies with me.
“You taught me that, Mr. Middleton. We have to give others a chance, or we’ll suffer terrible consequences.”
There was only a single dimly lit lamp on that street, and that was where William’s car was parked. His expression couldn’t be seen clearly.
“Even if the information I leak isn’t enough to shut Cloudex Corporation down, I’m sure it’ll give you a long–lasting headache.
“The industry will shift immediately, and your competitors will be targeting you. Who knows what tomorrow might bring? You just have to let us go mercifully. “It might mean nothing much to you, but it’s better than worrying about what I’ll do in the future, right?”
Suddenly, William laughed. “You really are my best pupil.”
When he was aloof, the air would feel tense. However, Emelie had gotten used to it after being with him for so long. She wasn’t scared by his icy expression. On the other hand, his sudden laughter was more frightening. After all, he had always been a man without emotions.
Willian rested his elbow on the window and said mockingly, “You’ve always regarded Samuel as your teacher, but why haven’t you done the same with me? I’ve taught you way more things.‘
Emelie thought he was crazy. “Mr. Middleton, if you have that kind of fetish, you can ask Ms. Bowen to satisfy you. After all, she’s your student too.” William pursed his lips. “Mercifully, huh? If I hadn’t been merciful to you, Mona wouldn’t have been the only one in that footage.”
That day, Mona wasn’t the only one being bullied in the room. Emelie was there as well. However, Emelie had her head dunked in the fish tank instead.
Even so, it made no difference. If people knew she was in the mess, the rumors would circulate around her as well, not just Mona. People would say she was assaulted too.
The footage that was spreading now only had Mona in it. Emelie thought it was weird and wondered why Daphne would only target Mona. After hearing what William said, she wondered if he had erased the footage of her.
Since William brought that up, Emelie figured he was compromising after she had threatened him.
“In that case, please play nice until the end, Mr. Middleton. Erase the footage of Mona as well,” she said. William didn’t accept or reject her request. Emelie had nothing else to say, so she turned to leave.
“Tell me the details of the miscarriage.” William coldly said, “Then, I’ll consider being merciful.”
Although he said he didn’t believe her, this was the second time he asked her about it.
Emelie wasn’t interested in answering him. She figured he could investigate the matter himself since he was that capable. So, she went upstairs straightaway. William stared at her receding figure. He wanted to smoke, but when he touched his pocket, he realized he had forgotten his cigarettes.
“Drive,” he said coldly.
Abel started driving immediately. He had been with William for many years and could roughly guess what was on William’s mind.
At that moment, Abel wondered if William had come because he wanted to ask about the pictures. Or did he come to check on Emelie after hearing about her and her friend being detained at the station for causing a scene?
