CHAPTER 444

Chapter 444

He told Sherilyn, “Open it up.”

“What?” Sherilyn placed her brush down and lifted the lid of the box.

To her surprise, it contained a wristwatch, oddly familiar. It seemed as if she had seen it somewhere before.

“Feels familiar, doesn’t it?”

Gilbert smiled lightly, taking the watch out of the box, grasping Sherilyn’s left wrist, and fastening the watch on it.

“Ah, it suits you perfectly. Your wrist is slender, the strap fits just right, and your fair skin complements it.”

It was always about objects complementing people, but in Mr. Gilbert’s words, it was the other way around.

Sherilyn frowned, hesitant to accept, “It’s too valuable.” Belongs © to NôvelDrama.Org.

“Valuable? It’s just a watch.” Gilbert dismissed, “It matches mine.”

That’s when it clicked for her.

No wonder it looked familiar; he had a similar one, just a bit larger, a men’s model.

He smiled, “I didn’t expect it to be ready so soon, but since they had mine as a template, all they had to do was recreate it.”

Indeed, a Patek Philippe made to order.

The only two watches of their kind in the world.

Suddenly, the watch felt too hot to handle for Sherilyn!

“I should probably keep it safe. It’s too precious. What if it gets scratched, or worse, lost?”

“Don’t worry.”

Gilbert pressed her hand down, preventing her from moving.

“Scratches can be fixed. As for losing it? That won’t happen. Each watch has its own serial number, like a person’s DNA. As long as we have that, it can’t be lost. Just wear it.”

He lifted her hand, bringing it close to her ear.

With a grin, he whispered.

“Listen to its ticking–wearing matching watches, it’s as if we’re always together.”

Sherilyn’s heart skipped a beat!

What a charming thing to say!

After getting ready, they headed downstairs.

During breakfast, Gilbert received a call from Sylvia. “Mm, alright, I’ve got it, Grandma. Don’t worry, I remember.”

After hanging up, Gilbert glanced at Sherilyn’s plate, taking the egg yolk she didn’t eat for himself.

“We need to stop by the Johnson Mansion this afternoon. Grandma mentioned something about my brother’s wedding needs discussing.”

“Sure.”

After a brief rest post–breakfast, they left together.

Gilbert drove, but not directly to the Johnson Mansion.

“We need to swing by the hospital first. Grandma’s medication is running low, I need to pick some up for her.”

So, they made a detour to the hospital.

Parking in the hospital lot, Gilbert asked Sherilyn, “Coming with me?”

“No.” Sherilyn decisively shook her head, declining.

Jenna was at this hospital! What if they ran into each other?

“I’ll wait here in the car.” she said.

Alright then.” Gilbert didn’t push, “I’ll be quick.”

“Sure.”

As he shut the car door and hastened towards the pharmacy, Sherilyn pondered the unexpected gift. The pharmacy had everything prepared, so Gilbert could just grab and go. Carrying the medication bag, he navigated through the bustling lobby.

“Sir!”

Suddenly, a crisp shout.

Instinctively, Gilbert looked back, meeting a familiar little face, “Jenna!”

Jenna wasn’t alone; she was with Sophia.

Struggling out of Sophia’s arms, she sprinted towards Gilbert, “Sir, sir!”
