Whispers Turn to Whimpers: Could He Ever Change?

Chapter 1064

"Not too tiring, is it?"

Judging by the way Mr. Gilbert was beaming, it didn't seem tiring at all.

On stage.

Sherilyn waited for her heartbeat to settle before sneaking a glance at the spot where he had been...

But the man's silhouette was gone...

Had he left?

She gathered her thoughts and resumed her activities.

After the event, the fans' enthusiasm was overwhelming.

With bodyguards flanking her, Sherilyn finally managed to slip away and retreat to the green room.

"Ms. Gomez," Candida whispered at her side, "Mr. Nine has already headed back to Sunhaven."

What?

Sherilyn was a bit taken aback. She had guessed he might have left, but she hadn't expected him to head straight back to Sunhaven. What was the point of his visit here, then?

"Well, you see..." Candida quickly explained, "Mr. Nine had a dinner meeting with the city officials tonight, and it was unavoidable."

Of course.

Sherilyn understood that perfectly.

But still, what was the point of him coming to Ironforge?

Her phone buzzed with a message from Gilbert.

[Hey babe, I left. Saw you today, can finally sleep well tonight.]

"!"

Sherilyn's heart skipped a beat. So, he had come all this way just to see her?

Her heart raced again, accompanied by a strange feeling.

It was like someone had tossed a pebble into the still lake of her heart, creating ripples that spread outward, leaving her a bit dazed, a bit dizzy...

The evening's event concluded, and the next day, she had one last photo shoot for a billboard.

By afternoon, her itinerary was wrapped up.noveldrama

Back at the hotel, she packed up, ready to head back to Sunhaven.

"Candida."

Before leaving, Sherilyn called out to Candida, then glanced at Naomi,

"Why not?"

"Got it, Ms. Gomez."

Candida gave Naomi a knowing look as they went to grab the luggage whispering, "Isn't it obvious? Ms. Gomez wants to surprise Mr Nine."

"Oh, right!" Naomi caught on immediately, flashing an enthusiastic thumbs-up. "How romantic!"

Meanwhile, back in Sunhaven, Gilbert returned to his office from a meeting.

He loosened his cufflinks and glanced at Charles. "Anything else on the agenda today?"

"Yes..." Charles quickly handed him the schedule.

Gilbert pondered for a moment. "I'll skip tonight's dinner. You go and make an appearance for me."

"Understood," Charles replied. "And you, Mr. Gilbert?"

"I'm heading to Ironforge," Gilbert said with a hint of a smile. "Going to pick Sherilyn up."

Charles caught on, "I'll have the driver bring the car around."

Five minutes later, Gilbert left the Harrison Group building, making his way toward Ironforge.

An hour later, a car pulled up to the Harrison Group building, and Sherilyn stepped out.

Candida approached the reception

desk, "Ms. Gomez is here. She'll

head straight to the executive office. No need to inform Mr. Harrison."

"But..."

The receptionist certainly wasn't about to stop her. "Mr. Harrison... he's out."

"Out? Where to?"

"Yes," the receptionist nodded, "He left about an hour ago, but we don't know where."

The whereabouts of the CEO weren't typically disclosed in detail at the front desk.

Candida relayed the news to Sherilyn, "Ms. Gomez, Mr. Nine isn't in the office right now."

What a coincidence.

Sherilyn rubbed her temples. She had planned to surprise him, but it seemed the surprise was on her.

"Never mind, let's head out."

At the same time in Ironforge.

Gilbert arrived at the hotel just in time.

His bodyguard returned from the front desk with an update, "Mr. Nine, Ms. Gomez has already checked out..."
