CHAPTER 30
CHAPTER 30
When she left, He went crazy
Chapter 30 Who Not Being Loved is the Other Woman.
In front of everyone, Christopher’s expression remained consistently cold and distant.
The trench coat made him even more unapproachable.
As he approached me, I suddenly felt nervous. This matter could be trivial or serious; either we settle it with money
Or…
Given Christopher’s power in Jacquar, he could easily have Elissa thrown in jail.
There was no doubt that he would stand by Evelyn.
Not surprisingly, he stood by Evelyn’s side with slightly lowered eyes and asked, “How do you want to handle this?”
My palms clenched suddenly, but before Evelyn could speak, Elissa pulled me behind her. Original content from NôvelDrama.Org.
“I made a mistake on my own; I’ll take responsibility; this has nothing to do with Hope.”
“Elissa!”
I was anxious, but Elissa looked at me and taunted me deliberately. “How do you want to handle this? Do you want to beg your ex–husband in front of everyone for me or beg this shameless other woman?”
Her words escalated the tension in the room.
Evelyn sneered repeatedly, “Who are you calling the other woman? Chris and I have known each other since childhood, so it definitely isn’t me. If being unloved defines the other woman, then you’re definitely not talking about me!”
Each of her words struck my nerves.
According to her, my seemingly good marriage of three years was all stolen.
I met Christopher’s deep–sea–like gaze and said with a bitter smile, “Do you also think what she said is true, Christopher?”
Despite loving him deeply for seven years, I was now being called “the other woman.”
I called.
Other people’s words didn’t matter; I just wanted to know his thoughts.
Evelyn clung to his arm, coquettishly lifting her chin. “Am I not right, Chris?”
–
That’s enough. Christopher furrowed his brow slightly, calmly pulling his arm away from her. “It’s just a car that got smashed; I’ll buy you another one tomorrow.”
I was stunned.
“Was he not going to stand up for Evelyn?”

By ending the matter so easily, Evelyn naturally disagreed, “It’s not that simple! They didn’t just smash my car; they humiliated me!”
Christopher glanced at her; his tone was cold. “You humiliated Hope tonight, too.”
When he said this, not just me, even Elissa seemed surprised,
We exchanged a glance, seeing confusion in each other’s eyes.
Was Christopher defending me?
Despite Evelyn’s inability to deny it, she still refused to let me off the hook, looking at Christopher with red eyes. “This is not fair at all; you’re clearly biased towards her.”
“She’s my wife; it’s only natural for me to be biased towards her, Christopher said calmly.
I was taken aback, feeling certain emotions that were fading and rekindling.
Hope, can you stop being so easily swayed?‘ I reminded myself.
Evelyn looked embarrassed for a moment, then calmly said, “But you still divorce her for me.”
Christopher remained expressionless. “Evelyn, I never said…”
“Aren’t you planning to divorce her?”
Evelyn interrupted stubbornly.
I suppressed the bitterness in my heart, unwilling to listen to their flirtation. My gaze fell on Christopher, “You’re not going to pursue this matter further, right?”
“That’s my car, you should ask me,” Evelyn asserted.
“But the car was bought by him.” I pursed my lips, straightened my back, and firmly said, “We’re not divorced yet, and legally, I can reclaim it as marital property. I advise you to be wiser.”
“What do you mean?”
“What I mean is, you don’t have any right to speak on this matter.” I just wanted Christopher to stop pursuing Elissa’s responsibility for this incident.
Evelyn couldn’t change anything.
Hearing this, Evelyn looked at me fiercely. She then turned to Christopher, furrowing her brow. “Your good wife is so calculating and domineering.”
I was speechless at her words.
I didn’t want to continue embarrassing myself there. “Christopher, since you’re not going to hold us accountable anymore, we’ll leave first.” After that, I took Elissa to handle the formalities and left promptly.

Before leaving, I heard Evelyn muttering, “Chris, enduring three years with her must have been exhausting. Had Bentley not proposed marriage back then, you wouldn’t be enduring her now.”
Elissa rolled her eyes, ready to argue with Evelyn if I hadn’t pulled her back.
Out of the blue, the rain poured, the chilly autumn wind blew, and the temperature plummeted, sending shivers down
our spines.
As we got into the car, Elissa exclaimed, “Why did you drag me away? You heard what she said! Damn! She’s really
crazy!”
“I heard that.”
I sighed, starting the car and slowly driving onto the road, “Christopher is fickle; I just want to leave before he changes
his mind.”
As for Evelyn, I didn’t need to bother with her.
“Aren’t you angry?” she asked.
“Not really.” It was more like I had gotten used to it.
In Jacquar, the nightlife was just beginning, and the streets were bustling with a crowd, causing some traffic. I cruised slowly, pausing here and there due to the congestion.
Elissa suddenly laughed, leaned over, and winked at me. “Are you happy?”
“What?”
“Seeing her car smashed like that, are you happy?”
She was still concerned about that at this moment.
After a moment of thought, I didn’t deny my dark thoughts. “Yes, I’m happy.”
When Evelyn parked an identical car next to mine, I felt a surge of anger.
It wasn’t just a car; it was a declaration of dominance.
Seeing the battered car parked in front of the police station, I worried about Elissa and didn’t have time to feel happy.
But now, recalling it, I felt all the pent–up anger dissipate, feeling relieved.
“That’s good.”
Elissa raised an eyebrow in satisfaction.
I chuckled, “But you can’t be impulsive like that again.”
“I see, I see.”

“Don’t just placate me,”
“I’m not, I’m not, I listen to you the most.”
I sighed and chuckled.
I couldn’t do anything about her. When I dropped her off at home, I whispered, ‘Elissa, you really can’t be impulsive anymore. Today, Christopher didn’t hold you accountable, best if he decides to stand up for Evelyn?”
“I’m not stupid, Elissa smirked. I still have Ivan.”
I had forgotten about her relationship with Ivan! It dawned on me that she had a plan all along
For Christopher, I was insignificant, but Ivan was his lifelong friend.
Out of respect for Ivan, Christopher wouldn’t pursue Elissa’s responsibility.
“Alright,” I chuckled.
“Take care of yourself,” she gestured towards my belly, chin lifted ever so slightly, “I won’t allow myself to land in prison; otherwise, if you and your little one faced harassment in the future, I wouldn’t even know.”
With that, she suddenly asked, “But why did Christopher defend you today?”
1
I fell silent for a moment. “I don’t know.”
“Did he realize he cherishes you after losing you, suddenly discovering that he actually likes you?” Elissa made a
ridiculous guess.
“That’s impossible.” I chuckled bitterly and quickly dismissed the idea, “He wouldn’t fall for me.”
“If he didn’t like you, how did you get pregnant?”
It took me a moment to realize what Elissa meant. I glanced at her and ushered her out of the car. “You can go now!”
On the way back to Riverside Garden, I mulled over her question several times, repeatedly denying it.
Christopher wouldn’t like me.
We had spent over a thousand days and nights together, and he never developed feelings for me. Now that we were apart, it was even less likely.
However, as I stepped out of the elevator and saw the figure standing at the door, that thought shattered once again.
Elissa’s question resurfaced in my mind.
“Why are you here?”
I asked, only then noticing the black suitcase beside Christopher.

In the bright light, Christopher stood tall, his expression softened, with a low and gentle voice.
“I came to find you.”
I met his gaze. “Why did you bring a suitcase to find me?”
“I’m moving here,” he said.
