Chapter 296 You Scheming Bitch!

All those photos were of Cordelia and Eason.

The photos included pictures of them talking in the car, as well as one where Eason was touching

Cordelia's head. This text is property of Nô/velD/rama.Org.

There were pictures of them returning to the hotel together, with Eason following closely behind

Cordelia.

And there were pictures of them entering a luxury apartment building together, with Eason carrying

Cordelia's luggage.

Elijah became increasingly uneasy as he looked at the photos. He immediately called Cordelia.

But Cordelia's phone was turned off!

Elijah was stunned to find out that Cordelia had turned off her phone.

Judging by the time the photos were taken, it was an hour ago. Elijah wondered if they had already

slept in the same bed now.

Elijah couldn't even bear to think about it.

He couldn't sit still any longer and started pacing back and forth in his study.

With no other options, he decided to call Eason.

Soon enough, Eason answered the phone.

There was some noise around him, indicating that he was outside.

"What's up?" Eason asked coldly.

"I wanted to talk to Cordelia, but her phone is turned off."

At this moment, Elijah felt he was incredibly small at that moment.

He humbled himself to Eason just to speak with Cordelia for a few words. Just a few words.

However, Eason heartlessly replied, "You better not disturb her. She's suffering because of you. At this

point, if you truly love her, don't add salt to her wounds anymore. That would be too cruel to her!"

Elijah listened quietly, and then both of them fell into silence.

After a long while, Eason finally lost patience and said, "Hang up if you don't have anything else."

Only then did Elijah speak, "My engagement with Clare is fake, not real."

"Humph..." Eason sneered, "Whether it's true or false, you didn't tell Cordelia in advance, did you?"

Elijah was speechless.

It was a momentary lapse in judgment that led him to hide the truth.

He had foolishly believed that Cordelia would unconditionally trust him.

But only when everything was exposed Elijah realized how terribly wrong he was.

Eason wanted to say something more, but in the end, he held back.

Eason knew that provoking Elijah at this moment wouldn't be wise, and it might ultimately hurt Cordelia

more.

So, they ended the call on a seemingly peaceful note, both hiding their own thoughts.

Elijah sat back in his armchair and fell into silence.

Just as his brain was spinning rapidly, his phone rang once again.

Seeing the caller ID "Clare," Elijah answered the call expressionlessly, "Ms. Clare Price, is it

appropriate to call a stranger at this hour?"

Clare said timidly, "Mr. Hansen, I'm sorry for disturbing you so late. I have left the hotel for some

reason, and I must be with you. Otherwise, we might get exposed."

Elijah felt annoyed and said, "That's your problem. There was no clause in our agreement stating that I

would continue to cooperate with your acting after the fact."

Clare's voice trembled as she pleaded. "Please, I can help you explain this whole situation to Cordelia."

Elijah narrowed his eyes and pondered for a while before saying, "Where are you now?"

"I'm in the coffee shop at the hotel entrance," Clare replied with a hint of hope.

"Wait there."

Eason had social engagements until ten past midnight, and he was feeling groggy.

He asked the driver to take him to the apartment where Cordelia lived nearby, and he slept in the living

room.

The next morning, Cordelia woke up and prepared to go for a morning run. As soon as she stepped out

of her room, she saw a tall figure in the living room.

She was very surprised that Eason didn't have an engagement and left last night. When did he come

back? She had no idea at all.

So she carefully covered Eason with a thin blanket and then quietly left the room.
