Chapter 49

Rawlf was apparently surprised yet at the same time, sighed in bliss having the woman back in his

embrace.

The only thing that frustrates him is the fact that the woman is crying like it's the end of the world.

And, like how he grew up with the habit of soothing her, he gently rubs her back while kissing the top of

her head and ceremoniously, her forehead.

"Rawlf", Rawlf couldn't count the number of times where the woman uttered his name. Even

though she's crying, it made Rawlf happy as the tone of her calling out his name was that of longing.

So he's not alone in this huh?

Before he started to get ahead of himself, Rawlf chose to tighten his embrace on the woman and

inhaled her sweet vanilla scent. 'Pure bliss', he thought as inhaled her scent again.

The crying woman now ceased from crying and instead sob from time to time.

Rawlf loosened his embrace as he wanted to check on her after realizing that she just straightly

jumped off from the bed yet the woman, as if afraid to lose him, clung her body to him even more and

tightened her arms around him.

"Sweetheart, I'm not going anywhere. Just let me check you first", Rawlf gently said. To prove his

earlier realization, the woman was barefoot on the cold floor.

At least for him, he was wearing a thick sock but she had been crying in his embrace for a good

five minutes now.

Rawlf pulled Veronica up and carried her on the floor without saying anything. The woman was

obediently clinging on his neck as her anchor while stealthily inhaling his scent from his chest in the

process.

He made her lay on the bed gently and was about to turn to remove his socks when the woman

pulled him from his slack's pocket. Sighing helplessly, Rawlf joined the woman in bed.

After settling himself on the bed, Veronica right away cuddled herself in his embrace. Rawlf on the

other hand, couldn't ask for anything better than the present moment, to hug her tighter

and kiss her at the top of her head.

When she finally had her fair share in Rawlf's embrace, Veronica started. "I'm ready to tell you the

truth now."

"I know. But we're both tired and sleepy. Let's have a talk tomorrow", Rawlf said dotingly.

"Hmmmm."

Rawlf kissed her once more at the top of her head as he was about to let his fatigue carry him to

the dreamland.

Of course, if Veronica wasn't beside him now, he doubts that he could even feel or realize how

tired he was.

To finally be beside her after the longest and slowest two days of his life, Rawlf finally felt

comfortable inside.

"And it doesn't involve any man you were thinking of. I never was involved with any man after

you...intimately", Veronica softly said, her voice laced with sleepiness and soon enough, her breath

started to ease.

She's finally asleep.

Rawlf after hearing what Veronica just told him couldn't help but smile.

"I never was involved with any man after you", those words were echoing in his mind. Finally

having his assurance, Rawlf dozed off to sleep while tightly embracing Veronica to his body.

While the couple were already enjoying their sleep in each other's embrace, a certain someone,

was once again, left alone in the car, in front of the hotel, waiting for his boss who had long forgotten

about his existence the instant his woman fell in his embrace.

Two hours had passed and there's no sign of the President yet, however, realizing what might

have happened between the couple, Secretary Ryan is smarter now to start the car's engine to drive

himself home. But not forgetting to message his President something which proves his reliability from

time to time. "Brought your car home with me President. I will have breakfast delivered to your and lady

boss' suite tomorrow morning."

Secretary Ryan shakes his head at the couple as he hums himself during the drive home. Yes,

he's also tired and sleepy yet at the same time, happy for reconciliation between the couple.

This also means, a happy lovelife for the President means a happy office life for him and all of the

employees in Sy International.

Morning came, and Veronica stirred from her deep slumber when Rawlf's slow movement still

managed to wake her.

Well, it's more like sensing the lack of warmth being inside the man's embrace.

"It's only five in the morning sweetheart. Go back to sleep. I'm here all day. I'm not leaving."

Rawlf rubbed her back and kissed her forehead lulling Veronica back in her sleep but before totally

falling back to sleep she asked for the pillow he slept on to cuddle.

Feeling happy by this, Rawlf gently kissed her once more after pulling the pillow he slept on and

giving it to her.

Veronica lazily put the pillow she already has on her back and instead replaced it with Rawlf's

pillow as he cuddled it, then drifting back on her comfortable sleep.

Seeing as his woman was back asleep, Rawlf stayed for a minute more staring at her dotingly and

then, forced himself out of his room.

He received a call from his Persian force saying that an email was sent containing confidential files

about their lady boss he asked from a week ago.

Yes, a week ago. That means that collecting information about Veronica was indeed so hard that

even his force took a week before completing the task.

It's not that Rawlf's force is weak, it's because Veronica's information was highly classified and

highly secured by Country R.

It's not just any other Country.

It's Country R, one of the world's hegemonic countries. Now, he was even more curious about his

woman's background. But Rawlf decided not to open it as Veronica was now ready to tell him the truth.

Maybe, it's better that he puts his trust in his woman and let her reveal things to him on her own

accord.

Yet, no matter how strong, superior, and powerful a country or a force is, if Rawlf insists, all his

stagnant forces could do was to slowly but surely, fulfill the task given to them.

Aside from that, so as not to raise any suspicion or cause unnecessary noise, the forces had to

tread carefully their every action. It's not yet the time to make the world known of their forces and even,

the world is yet to know the immense power and influence, Rawlf Sy of Sy International has, in every

corner of the globe.
