Rawlf was busy reading a project proposal when his secretary burst in unceremoniously. He raised

an eyebrow and was about to get back reading when he heard a voice behind Secretary Ryan's back.

"Pardon this old woman for suddenly barging in as it's the only thing she thought she could do in

order to talk to her powerful and influential unico hijo."

Rawlf's mouth twitched seeing his ever graceful, sophisticated, yet spoiled mother, walked her way

and imposingly sat on his white, waves sectional sofa.

"Mother", Rawlf gently started.

"Oh, you still remember you have a mother?!" Vanessa Sy over dramatically yet graciously gasped

while both her candle like, well manicured fingers tapped on her chest.

"Mother, is something wrong?"

Vanessa looked at her son accusingly and with a hurt tone replied, "Are you implying that I could

only come to you when something is wrong?? That, that is my only purpose now that I'm old and gray

and useless for my own powerful son? That I was degraded from a mother to a mere messenger of bad

news?! That-"

"Mother", Rawlf stood up and approached his ranting mother and seated himself beside her. His

mother had always been loving and nurturing towards him. That's what he could only be thankful about.

If not only for his father's infidelities, their small family could have been a happy one. Only that

despite the love surrounding him as he grew up, Rawlf with his genius tendency often rationalized

things rather than to rely on his emotional quotient.

That's what set the mother and son's relationship slowly apart as Rawlf grew up to start to mature.

" I was very busy, I didn't have time to call you But I've always sent you your favourite

flowers."

"The flowers are not as important as my son",Vanessa replied solemnly.

"What is it?" Rawlf changed the topic as he was never the kind of person who would deal with

emotional bickering with his mother or with anyone else.

Rawlf unknowingly smiled with just the thought of Veronica.

"When are you going to introduce that woman to me?" Vanessa said seriously, trying to hide her

sparkling eyes with the thought of a future daughter in law.

After all, she's not getting any younger and she would love it if she was still strong and energetic to

play with her future grandchildren!

Rawlf sighed.

Of course, it's no longer surprising that aside from his own father, who else would dare to have him

followed around to be updated of his whereabouts and whatabouts?

No one else, but his daring mother. "Soon."

"Soon?! What do you mean by 'soon'? I want it right away, or maybe tomorrow."

Vanessa, remembering something, giggled then continued, "Right! Tomorrow is perfect! Here I

already have an invitation letter for you which your aunt Celeste asked me to give you. It's tomorrow

evening. Be sure to come and don't forget to bring her! I'll be waiting!"

As fast as lightning, Vanessa Sy already put the invitation letter on Rawlf's lap and stood up to

walk her way graciously out. When she was near the door, she halted and turned to face his son who

was still lost in thought.

"I'll be waiting for both of you there, son." After saying her final piece, Vanessa then turned back to

face the door and smiled graciously when his son's reliable secretary, as if on cue, opened the door

from the outside for her.

"Thank you Ryan. You don't have to come along. My men were around to do that."

Secretary Ryan on the other hand was conflicted but smiled and bowed towards the kind madame.

"Very well then madame."

"Ryan!" The President's voice made Secetary Ryan instantly straighten and bid his farewell to the

madam and proceeded inside Rawlf's office.

Vanessa Sy on the other hand turned to walk and as she walked, her kind face turned ice cold

making her look ethereal and intimidating.

She looked around and scanned the bowing women. Those are her son's secretaries and

assistants as well but they were under his secretary.

A total of seven gorgeous ladies. Vanessa Sy was about to turn to her son's private elevator when

another woman emerged from her back.

"Let me walk you through the elevator madam." The woman bears a kind smile on her face but

Vanessa Sy, with years of experience, has always been good at reading people even just from the first

impression.

"Don't bother." Vanessa maintained her ice cold face but still polite. She was never the kind of

arrogant elite who would insist her power and prestige to the lower class. Vanessa looked at the

woman.

As if embarrassed, the woman bowed her head. "I'm a new recruit, madam. Please forgive me if I

broke a protocol."

Va"nessa Sy smiled mischievously. It's okay. Lead the way. I think you're the best person and as

you're new, that's more perfect because I have a task for you."

As if surprised, the 'trembling' woman raised her head and showed her best 'grateful' expression

towards the madame.

Vanessa Sy let the woman lead her while at the same time, the woman was trying her best to hide

her excitement thinking of the possibility of being closed and curry favor with Sy matriarch.

Vanessa Sy letting her guide her and even would give her a task made her thoughts run wild. To

earn Vanessa Sy's trust also would mean being able to grab the title Mrs. Sy in the future!

Without the woman's knowledge, the plan and delusions she had in mind were already read by

Vanessa Sy. She had experienced this kind of white lotus woman from the past and made Vanessa Sy

expert with reading the intentions and character of a person. Unfortunately for this new secretary, she's

too ambitious for her own good and intelligence.

Being cheated on by her husband not just once but many times at that, made Vanessa Sy hate this

kind of opportunistic kind of woman.

After receiving news from her men that her son was 'dating' this daughter of the Wang who just

returned from the country after many years of exile from the scandal, she had her and her family

investigated to confirm the truth.

The information her men collected was enough for her to trust the woman and hope for the best

with her son. And she would make it sure that she would be there to help her from those who

would dare harm her future daughter in law. All Veronica needs to do in return is to give her fluffy

great grandchildren!

Just the thought of having great grandchildren made madam Vanessa's mood very very happy.
