Monique POV

I’ve been calling Cain how many times but he is not answering it. I thought we would have our lunch together with his friend but he is not answering my calls.

Monique was so bored in her office that she wanted to go on a food trip because she had been busy lately and only now did she have time again.

As she was arranging sales reports for this month when her phone suddenly rang, she looked at it and saw Cain was the caller.

“Hey Cain! I’ve been calling you multiple times.” she exclaimed after answering the call.

“I’m sorry Nique, I rushed Jewel to the hospital that’s why I wasn’t available to answer your call.” Cain explained on other line

“Why? What happened?” She asked.

“I don’t really know what really happened yet,  I just saw Jewel unconscious when I got back to our condo.” He said.

“I’m coming over there, send me the address. Okay?”

“Alright!” he said as the call went down.

After a few minutes my phone beeped and  I received a message from Cain containing the address of the hospital where they were. I know how precious that Jewel is to Cain, I can see how he was worried about her and how he took care of her. I just hope that one  day Cain will be like that to me.

Unbeknownst to the young man Cain that Monique has feelings for him, since the death of her boyfriend Daven she thinks that she will never fall in love again, but when she meets this guy and becomes friends with Cain Fuentabella she feels something towards the guy. At first she didn’t pay attention to it because she still convinced herself that Daven was still the one she loved.

Until later, she proved to herself that she really likes the young man, she even visited Daven just to hang out. She knew that her ex -boyfriend would understand it if she fell in love with someone else because she knew that Daven would be happy seeing her happy and not mourning for the past.

Monique had just finished what she needed to do before deciding to arrange her belongings and leave to go to the hospital, she knew Cain now needed sympathy.

I woke up with pure white I could see, I closed my eyes a few more times. And when I could see clearly, I knew where I was.

I saw Cain staring at me intently now, I know that he was angry based on his stare at me as well.

“C-cain.” I called but I heard nothing from him.

“C-cain, I’m sorry.” I nodded

“Why did you do that? Are you out of your mind?” restraint is obvious in his voice

I could hardly look at him because I didn’t know how to answer his question because even I myself didn’t know why I did that thing.

“I didn’t know you were going to get to the point where you could kill an innocent child! That’s your child Jewel! Your child is the one you want to kill!” He shouts at me

I couldn’t stop the abundant tears from flowing in my eyes. In the few years we have been friends, this is the first time that Cain got angry and shouted at me.

“Aren’t you thinking? What if the child didn’t survive? Do you think you’ll be happy? Do you think your conscience will put you to sleep because you killed someone? If Thunder is bad, what do you think you are? You’re no different from him either! ” He added

“I-understand C-cain, please. D-do you think this t-thing is easy for me? D-do you think I like it?” I said

“Yes Jew, you did!  Since the beginning I’ve understood you, you know that, I haven’t left you! But this decision you made, do you think I can understand you? No jewel! I can’t understand your reason for killing an innocent child! I’m so disappointed in you, and because of this I don’t know if I even knew you or if you were my friend Jewel. ” His long statement then turned away

I could barely speak, I just cried because I felt like my friend had left me also.

I was in that position when the door opened, I thought Cain was back but no, a beautiful woman exposed herself to me while smiling.

“Hi, I’m Monique, Cain’s friend. He just went somewhere so he asked for a favor from me first to watch over you here.” She spoke modestly

“Nice meeting you,” I forced a smile. “You don’t need to do this, I’m okay even if you don’t watch me. I don’t want to bother you.” I added

“It’s okay, I just want to meet you too.” She said

I just nodded, because it looked like she had no intention of leaving.

“I heard about what happened to you, it’s good that you and your baby are safe. I know what happened between you and Cain.” She said suddenly

“I’m sorry about it, it looks like you’ve heard of our fight.” I apologized

“Nah, It’s okay. It’s only natural for friends to have that conversation or misunderstanding and it’s unavoidable. Don’t stress yourself. You need to rest.”

We talked a lot and she was the only one who was telling stories while I was just listening to her.

Honestly, I don’t know what’s going on between and this girl, I feel like Monique has feelings for my friend based on what I can see in the joy and radiance of her eyes every time Cain’s name is mentioned and so on to my friend it’s obvious that he likes Monique by how he looks to her.

I hope they will get along and be a couple soon. I can see that they will be great partners. And I also want Cain to be happy, he has done lots of things for me since the beginning and I’m wishing for his happiness.
