Chapter 152
Chapter 152
“Logan, Benjamin,” Donald quickly intervened, cutting off their verbal sparring. Smiling, he said to them, “The two of you are outstanding men. Even if you’re single, you’re both the most outstanding bachelors around.”
Out of respect for Donald, the two men paused their bickering. Being the older one, Benjamin stepped aside, allowing Logan to leave first. Property © NôvelDrama.Org.
With the Jenkinses seeing him off, Logan got into his Rolls–Royce and departed.
It was surely a swift visit.
Those hoping to curry favor with the influential Moore family were disappointed. But with Benjamin’s arrival, their hopes lit up again. However, they knew it was wise to choose between doing business with Moore Group or Hathe Corporation, as dealing with both could lead to trouble.
Halfway to his destination, Logan received the location from Finnegan.
He instructed his driver to navigate to a nearby spot and let him walk the rest of the way.
At the same time, he called one of his bodyguards and ordered, “Go to the construction site and bring me a set of work clothes and a hard hat.”
The bodyguard complied respectfully.
One of the trailing security cars slowed down, turned around at an intersection, and headed towards the construction site near the Glendale Grand Hotel to fetch the attire for their boss.
Only then could Logan continue his ruse of pretending to be poor in front of Lorraine.
Meanwhile, in the most luxurious private room of the most upscale hotel near Violet Corner, Luke handed the menu to Lorraine. Acting the gentleman, he said, “Lorraine, order whatever you like.”
He then looked at the obedient kids. “The kids can choose anything they want too.”
The well–mannered Finnegan and Luna thanked Luke sweetly.
Finnegan purposely added, “Mr. Luke, my dad never brings us to places like this.”
Luke’s smile widened. “Anytime you want to come here, just let me know. I’ll pick you and your mom up.”
Logan was just a construction worker to Luke. There was no way he could compare to him.
He couldn’t believe Logan never brought his family out for a nice meal.
Lorraine glanced at her son. That cunning boy had Luke wrapped around his finger without him realizing it.
“Mom, can I order?”
Finnegan asked Lorraine.
Lorraine handed him the menu. Skeptical, Luke asked, “Can kids this young order?”
“They know quite a few words already, and if they don’t recognize something, they can always look at the pictures.”
Luke praised. “Lorraine, your kids are as smart as you.”
“Their father oversees their education at home. He’s done a great job.”
Luke’s smile faltered slightly when he heard that. In his eyes, Logan was just a good–looking nobody. But he had to admit the children were well–educated.
“Mr. Luke, can I really order anything?” Finnegan asked, his innocent eyes wide as he observed Luke’s constant attempts to win over Lorraine.
“Of course, order whatever you like. I can afford it.”
This hotel wasn’t even a three–star. How much could they possibly spend?
After getting their permission, Finnegan and Luna eagerly started ordering.
They took turns ordering Lorraine and their aunts‘ favorite dishes and ended up ordering a lot.
They couldn’t pronounce all the names perfectly. So they pointed to each dish, asking the waiter to note them down.
Luke didn’t pay much attention at first. He was engrossed in his attempts to engage Lorraine in a conversation. Lorraine barely responded, yet he persisted. It wasn’t until he noticed the children were still ordering that he grew suspicious.
Rising to check the waiter’s notepad, he was shocked to see one page completely filled with orders and the second page underway. Not to mention every dish they chose was among the most expensive on the menu.
