Charles was speechless.
Charles was deep in thought as he left the CEO's office
"Mr. Stewart." Ivy walked over enthusiastically. "Let me see you out."
But Charles shook his head and pointed to a comer. "Make her escort me instead."
Now that she had been singled out, Tiffany was subjected to everyone's questioning looks. She was bewildered.
Under Ivy's murderous gaze, Tiffany pressed the elevator button and headed down with Charles.
When the elevator door closed, Charles asked, "What's your name?"
"Tiffany Lloyd."
"Is Tiffany Blue your favorite color then?"
Speechless, Tiffany glanced at Charles. "Mr. Stewart... you're so good with words."
Charles laughed out loud. "You're overdoing the flattery
Tiffany didn't answer him. She stared at the changing digits on the elevator wall.
"Hey, there's something I want to ask." It didn't seem like Charles wanted the conversation to end. "Do you know who the woman who slept with Vincent is?"
Tiffany's heart thumped fast. "I... I don't know."
"Really?" Standing by her side, Charles lowered his eyes to study her face. "Why are your eyelashes trembling so hard?"
Leaning close to her, he lowered his voice. "Could that woman be... you?"
Tiffany's eyes widened. She felt so guilty that she clenched her fists tightly. A layer of sweat formed on her palms.Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.
Just then, the elevator reached the first floor, and the doors opened.
Tiffany then snapped it out. "You really like joking around, Mr. Stewart."
Charles stuffed his hands in his pockets. Watching her flushed cheeks, he smiled widely. "It's probably not you. Based on what I know about Vincent, he likes the slutty ones. And you... you're too shy." Tiffany did not know what to say.
Why did his words sound so awkward?
At the company entrance, Tiffany saw him off. "Goodbye, Mr. Stewart."
Charles beamed. "See you again."
After watching Charles drive away, Tiffany turned and went back to the office. When she walked past the lobby, a familiar voice called her out. "Tiffany?"
Tiffany paused. She turned and saw Brianna walking over.
"Tiff? It's actually you!" Brianna had a look of disbelief as she sized Tiffany up. "I thought I must be seeing
Chorofic
things. But it's really you! So, the new job you found is at Lewis Group, huh?"
Tiffany saw the résumé Brianna was holding, but she had no intention of making small talk with her.
With a nod, she said, "I have something to take care of, I'll be leaving now."
"Hey, Tiff..." Brianna chased after her. "Which department are you in?"
Tiffany pressed the elevator button. She turned around Does that have anything to do with you?"
Brianna was taken aback. The Tiffany in front of her was so cold and distant that she seemed like a total stranger.
*Tiff, are you still angry at me because of my relationship with William? I know I've hurt you a lot because of this. But... but William and I truly love each other.
"You know that it's hard to control having feelings for someone. I know we hurt you very much. You don't have to forgive me, but please don't hate us.
"I don't hate you." Tiffany's tone was flat.
"Really?" Brianna's face lit up. She instantly reached for Tiffany's hand. "Tiff, I knew you're the best!"
Glancing at her hand, which Brianna was holding, Tiffany furrowed her brows. She pulled her hand back. and looked into Brianna's eyes.
She replied calmly, "I don't hate you. I just think the two of you are disgusting.
Brianna could not say a word.
