Under My Boss’ Table

Chapter 35 Real drama

Literally a minute after I got back to my chair, a waiter approached. Edward, ordering the main course, looked at me mischievously, saying: “if I finished later, it would be rats!” I, looking at him meaningfully, rubbed my lips with the back of my hand.

“Now let’s talk about you.” Edward said. “As I said, I want to know more about your life, what you love, hate…”

I became thoughtful and began with general phrases. Where I was born, parents, school, first love, favorite movies, games… Edward listened with manifest interest, and after half an hour we broke off, shared secrets of our lives, and laughed.

Slow, romantic music began to play. My man looked at me, stood up and held out his hand:

“I invite you to dance. It is time to pay off my debt.”

I remembered how I asked him to dance myself on his birthday. I smiled and a pleasant warmth passed through my body. How nice that Edward remembered such little things!

I took his hand and we started dancing. Edward pressed against my hair and whispered so I could hear:

“In fact, I remember that night well because of your confession. I looked at you with different eyes.”

The evening ended excellently and my man called a taxi. When the car stopped, he hesitated and turned to me:

“Do you want to stay with me for the night?”

“No”, an inner voice whispered in me, “what if he uses you again and there is something wrong?”

I tried to ignore it and said confidently:

“Yes.”

When will such an opportunity arise? Besides, my soul demanded the continuation of the banquet!

We arrived at the apartment where I used to work for him at night, and immediately on the threshold we began to kiss frantically. The wine made our heads turn and we were in a hurry to fully immerse ourselves in a pool of feelings.

Edward didn’t turn on the light and we stumbled in the dark, and fell awkwardly. We giggled, but the caresses didn’t stop. Edward pulled my dress up and rested his standing member on the bottom of my belly.

“Wow, you’re ready now.” I chuckled.

“And I feel how wet you are.” Edward said in response, and after a few seconds he gently inserted his penis into me…

“Oh yeah-ah.” I moaned at the powerful pleasure I received after the sensation of a warm member in my vagina…

The lights were turned on suddenly. Edward and I almost went blind and were absurdly paralyzed in this position, on the ground, already connected to each other.

“Oh…” there was a barely audible exclamation. I raised my head and saw the image upside down, something I would never want to see: Sofia was leaning against the wall and clutching her stomach.

“Sofia!” Edward exclaimed, confused. His voice rose a couple of tones in horror. “You and me…”

“Finish.” She said weakly. “And go to the kitchen…”

She grimaced and limped down the hall. God, I had never felt so ashamed… My face burned so much that I was afraid to touch it.

“Fear nothing.” Edward whispered. “Now we will fix everything… I’m with you.”

He awkwardly pulled himself out of me and zipped up his fly. He took my hand and helped me up.

“How did this happen?” I hissed with heat. “You said she left!”Têxt © NôvelDrama.Org.

“So it was… Trust me, I’m no less shocked than you.” It was clear on Edward’s face that he wasn’t lying.

We walked down a long hallway to the kitchen, which was huge. Sofia was sitting at a large table, pale.

“Sofia… Are you feeling bad? Let’s go to the hospital?” Edward asked cautiously.

“I am okay.” Her voice was as dry as possible. “This is usually the case lately. Sit down.”

Edward and I exchanged a look and sat down. The conversation promised to be as intense as possible and I wanted to escape to some distant place.

The silence lengthened and I dared to look at Sofia. She sat with her eyes closed and took a deep breath. Apparently, she was not very well, and I very strongly, from the bottom of my heart, hoped that she would get better and not have to go to the hospital.

I didn’t know how I would have acted in such a situation if I had found my man with another… I imagined myself discovering Edward with a strange woman and winced. Immediately, with surprise, I realized that this image hurt my lower abdomen…

“OK, let’s start. Edward. I, of course, knew you were a bloody dog, but this is so bad!…” Sofia raised her voice at the end of the sentence.

Edward was meekly silent. She continued in the same tone:

“I asked for a break in the relationship, and what do I get in return?! A scene of betrayal???”

“Says the pregnant woman who is not clear from whom.” I snapped without thinking.

Edward and Sofia immediately looked at me, the first on the face showed surprise and sadness at the same time, and the second, natural shock.

“Excuse me, what did you say?” Sofia asked in a low voice.

“I suggest not shouting.” I realized that my tongue was my enemy, but it was too late to back down.

“Who are you to speak like that in MY house? Creature!” Sofia spat at me word for word…

“Stop it.” Edward cut her off firmly, and she fell silent, glaring at him resentfully.

Her nostrils flared with rage.

“Elvira is right, we have to speak calmly. Like that time, remember?… So, I didn’t tell you, because I was waiting for you to say it yourself. I read your correspondence with your lover a few months ago.”

Sofia’s face showed a whole range of feelings that were difficult to guess. She grew even paler and shifted nervously in her chair. The gaze darted from side to side.

“Sofia, can you hear me?” Edward called her.

“Yes.” Sofia made a face. “Look, it is not what you thought…”

“Well then, what you saw in the hall is not what you thought.” Edward held up his hands. “I read a lot of messages. You wrote that you feel sorry for me and you don’t know how to leave me. You wrote that you don’t have enough sex with me. You wrote that you don’t know whose child it is.”

“God… How could I allow this… I deleted all those messages!” His wife stammered. It seems like she was completely shocked, Edward hit her on the spot with his heavy counterargument.

“Once you did not have time to erase them. All secrets were revealed.”

“But how could you hide it so long?! We continued to have sex, we went on vacation together…” Sofia was discouraged.

“Because I forgave you, silly. You are a person very close to me. And even though I am filing for divorce, you will continue to be that person for the rest of my life.”

“Divorce?” I gasped.

“Divorce…” Sofia whispered.

“Yes. I walked towards this decision for a long time and made it recently.” Edward looked at me. “After reading your messages.”

“That’s how it is.” Sofia drawled. “So… you fucked her while you were living with me and you fucked me?” She looked at me with mild contempt. I firmly held her gaze.

“You start with yourself, please.” Edward recommended. “You don’t have to play an innocent victim when you’re not. You spoke in favor of secrecy in a relationship, well, I am completely IN FAVOR since you are so comfortable. But don’t expect the opposite from me.”

“About the divorce. I’ll think about it.” Said Sofia, obviously without hearing her last words. “I’m tired. Go to sleep. And…” She waved her hand in my direction. “You better go home. I pay.”

I nodded and followed her. Edward sat in the kitchen, lost in thought.

In the hallway, I turned to Sofia and asked her something that had worried me for so long:

“You did something to Lisa, right?”

“What Lisa?” Sofia’s face remained impartial.

“Edward’s mistress at work. Beautiful woman. Hit by a car!” I screamed.

“I don’t remember one.” The sparkle in Sophia’s eyes made me suspicious.

“Remember! Come on, try hard, I’ll show you a photo…” I desperately took the opportunity to get at least something from Sofia.

“Everyone, go away. I don’t care about any Lisa there.” She pushed me towards the door and closed it.

Yes, I’m not a detective at all…

I got a text message on the phone. I looked at it.

“The cab is waiting at the exit. Let’s talk about everything later. Kisses, Edward.”

Even at this moment, he remembers me and guessed she would call a taxi.

I smiled and went downstairs…
