True Love Deserves a Second Chance

Chapter 399 Gordon is Awesome

Alexander's face instantly turned cold.

He had been chasing Sophia for so long, only to have her snatched away by someone

else.

Was he that easy to bully?

He immediately started the car and floored the gas pedal.

Alexander parked his car directly in front of the black sedan.

With a grim expression, he got out of the car and knocked on the other person's window.

His voice was icy, "You dare to take my girl? Do you have a death wish?"

As soon as he finished speaking, the window of the black sedan slowly rolled down.

Gordon's handsome face appeared.

Alexander was about to curse and beat him up, but when he saw the face clearly, all his words got stuck in his throat.

Alexander forced a stiff smile. "Mr. Sinclair, why is it you?"

Gordon sneered, "What, I can't pick up my daughter without your permission?"

Alexander immediately shook his head with a smile, "No, I didn't know it was you. I thought it was some random guy."

"In your eyes, is my daughter so casual that she'd get into any random guy's car?" "No, that's not what I meant. I was just worried she'd be deceived and wanted to give her a heads-up."

Gordon's tone was unfriendly, "Alexander, you were the one who repeatedly called off the engagement. Now you're chasing her on the show. What exactly are you thinking? Do you think Sophia is at your beck and call?"

Alexander was left speechless.

He had angered Dean so much by breaking off the engagement with the Sinclair Family that Dean ended up in the hospital.

Gordon had once talked to Alexander, saying that Dean admired him and hoped he would agree to the marriage.

Alexander had ruthlessly refused at the time.

This made Gordon feel disrespected and even offended the entire Sinclair Family.

Dean hadn't contacted Gilbert for a long time.

Now Alexander was pursuing Sophia, whom he had previously rejected.

Alexander felt somewhat guilty.

He apologized, "Mr. Sinclair, I was foolish in the past and didn't recognize Sophia. If I had known she was my fiancée, I would never have called off the engagement."

Gordon gave a sarcastic smile, "You know now? Too late. Stay away from my daughter from now on."

With that, he rolled up the window and drove off, leaving Alexander standing alone in the wind, feeling lost.

Gordon looked at Sophia in the rearview mirror and asked with a smile, "Sweetheart, did it feel good to see me deal with that jerk for you?"

Sophia smiled, "Dad, you're unbeatable."

"Is it really impossible between you two?"

"Don't cry over spilled milk. I will never be with him again in this lifetime."

With that, Sophia turned her gaze out the window.

Melanie was a thorn in her heart.

Every time she thought of Alexander, she had to think of Melanie.

Although she had always been carefree, she was very particular about certain things.

She believed that if a man truly liked a woman, he wouldn't use a two-faced person to provoke her.

Nor would he allow such ambiguous relationships to flourish, knowing that the two- faced person liked him.

This was something Sophia couldn't accept.

Although Alexander had never been with Melanie, in Sophia's eyes, it was already beyond her tolerance.

She wanted a love like Sebastian's for Joey.

A love where they would think of each other even in life and death.

Not Alexander's seemingly deep love, but one that couldn't resist flirting with others.

As Sophia was looking at the scenery outside, her phone rang.

Seeing the caller ID, she immediately perked up and answered the call.

Paxon's sweet childlike voice pierced her eardrum.

"Godmother, where are you? I miss you so much."

Sophia's voice softened a bit, "I'll be there in about an hour."

"Great! My dad is hosting a party today. Lots of people are here, and there's a lot of good food. I'll save some for you, Godmother."

Hearing such heartwarming words, the resentment in Sophia's heart finally dissipated.

She smiled and said, "I also brought you some treats. See you soon."

"Okay, see you later, Godmother."

After hanging up, Sophia immediately felt energized.

"Dad, I'm meeting Joey and the others later. Do you want to join us?"

Gordon smiled, "You young people have fun. I have a client to meet later and will be back in City C tomorrow."

"Alright then, I'll go see my godson by myself."

An hour later.

Sophia knocked on the door.

Paxon immediately rushed towards her.

"Godmother, why are you so slow? Slower than a snail. I've been waiting for you forever."noveldrama

Sophia laughed and kissed him on the cheek, "There was a bit of traffic. Sorry to keep you waiting."

Joey walked out of the kitchen and asked Sophia, "Didn't Alexander come with you?"

"Who said I was coming with him? I'd rather be with a dog than with him."

Hearing this, Tyler couldn't help but click his tongue a few times, "Look at Alexander, he's fallen so low that he's not even as good as a dog."

Theodore waved his phone and said, "Count to three, and that dog will be at the door."

Sure enough, as soon as he finished speaking, the doorbell rang.

Lydia waddled over to open the door.

Seeing it was Alexander, she was puzzled, "Why is it Mr. Cross? Didn't my dad say it was a dog?"

Hearing this, everyone burst into laughter.

Alexander bent down to pick up Lydia and asked in a deep voice, "Who said I was a dog? Tell me."

"My dad and uncle."

Lydia pointed at Tyler and Theodore.

Alexander carried her over and kicked both of them in the butt.

"I'm already in a bad mood today, and you guys are still picking on me?"

Tyler grinned mischievously, "Weren't you having a great time on the show? Ferris wheel dates and luxury suites. We were all jealous."

"What good is that? She wouldn't even get in my car. She'd rather ride an electric scooter than get in my car."

Hearing this, Tyler whispered mischievously in his ear, "Then find a way to turn into an electric scooter and let her ride you."

Alexander's eyes lit up. "You have a way?"

"During dinner, make her drink more. Then anything is possible."

Hearing this, a smile immediately appeared on Alexander's face.

During dinner, he deliberately sat next to Sophia.

Alexander held up a bottle of wine and said, "This is Mrs. Guise's new wine. You like it,

don't you? Have a few more glasses tonight."

Sophia's expression turned cold as she blocked her glass, "Sorry, it's that time of the month. I can't drink."
