True Fated Marriage (Grace and Heinz)

Chapter 2223

Chapter 2223

"This must've been Kendrix's idea. With Sylvia's character, she wouldn't have come back at this hour." Heinz knew his daughter as well as Grace did. "That's why I admire Kendrix quite a lot," Grace said with a smile. "He's a policeman, so he has a respectable profession just like Jensen. He'll be able to take good care of Sylvia."

"He is indeed an excellent man," Heinz said matter-of-factly.

"He must be excellent to earn the praise of someone like you," Grace remarked with a smile.

Heinz chuckled. "I can't possibly say things that go against my own conscience, can I? I'm not such a person."

"Why yes, of course!" Grace nodded with a smile. "No one's character is as perfect as yours for sure."

Heinz also smiled as he held Grace in his arms and looked down at her with a gentle gaze.

Grace's faint smile was gentle, and her tone was tender and soft.

From what he remembered, she had not talked to him with such gentleness in a long time.

Heinz missed her gentleness.

It seemed that if Heinz maintained a clear and rational head on him, Grace would not get mad at him. Heinz thought to himself.

He reminded himself that he should not act on impulse in the future.

Sylvia had already grown up, and it was time for another man to worry about her future.

"Heinz," Grace said, still feeling a little doubtful. "If... If Kendrix does date Sylvia, how likely will they end up together?"

Heinz looked at her and replied, "It depends on our daughter. If she stays loyal to him, he won't treat her too badly.

"Who can guarantee the future anyway?

"So, let's give them time to sort it out themselves and determine if they're suitable for each other or not. By the way, we should invite Claudia over as a guest and observe how our son is doing."

"Mhm," Grace murmured and nodded her head. "Sylvia's emotions have been really stable lately. As for Sebastian's situation, it's still up in the air." "Then let's continue and observe," Heinz said. "Even if it's still uncertain, we can only wait and see. We shouldn't act too differently, or else it might make them feel too pressured. Sebastian isn't like Sylvia, and he's not as carefree as she is. He might keep things to himself."

There were some people who would keep their feelings to themselves, and if they did not have any ways of venting their emotions, they would end up with some emotional problems.

Meanwhile, those who were hot-tempered were able to vent their anger, which was why they were less likely to have any emotional problems. Sylvia and Sebastian were polar opposites in terms of their personalities.Belongs to (N)ôvel/Drama.Org.

That was why they had to handle their situations differently.

"Okay. I'll ask Sylvia to invite Claudia over for dinner in front of Sebastian during dinner later," Grace said.

Heinz nodded. "I'll observe our son's reaction and see how he takes it."

Seeing that Heinz was determined to find out more about Sebastian's situation, Grace's expression turned serious.

"Heinz, I think there's something I should remind you," she began.

Heinz smiled and replied, "Why are you suddenly being so serious? My dear, tell me your command." "I'm not joking around with you. I'm serious," Grace answered, lightly tapping his hand.

"I'm also very serious. I've never been more serious than this." Heinz also seemed very sincere.

Grace smiled, knowing that Heinz was being truthful. Over the years, he had never been insincere toward her.

Throughout their many years of marriage, there were times when they had different opinions. They also had arguments due to their different lifestyles. However, it was usually Heinz who would compromise.

If Grace was being honest, she had to admit that Heinz was really nice to her.

He was really considered a perfect husband.

She was grateful.

"My dear wife, please let me know your command. What is it that you would like to remind me about?" Heinz felt a sense of contentment as he saw how Grace looked at him with a smile on her face. He continued to hold her in his embrace, the tender expression on his face showing just how much he cherished her.

"I think both of us should not interfere in our children's romantic relationships regardless of what kind of partner they choose," Grace said solemnly. "We should show enough respect."

Heinz frowned. "What if our son chooses a man instead?"

Grace was momentarily stunned. She glanced at him and said, "Can you mind what you say? Why do you have to say such a thing?"

"I'm just telling the truth. It's not impossible that such a thing might happen." Heinz thought that it was the most extreme situation they would have to face. If she could accept that, then she was truly awesome.

Grace felt a little helpless. She had wanted to remind him about respecting their children's decisions, yet he actually mentioned such a thing as their son being gay.

She remembered that he had said the same thing when she brought up something similar in the past.

Grace really did not know whether to laugh or cry. In the end, she answered, "Even so, it's still our son's choice in the end. We can only give him our advice. Other than that, we can't actually do anything else. After all, it's his life, not ours."

"You really are such an open-minded mother," Heinz said admiringly.

In truth, Heinz knew that he was not that open-minded. If Sebastian really fell in love with another man, he would probably go crazy.

He had only brought it up because he knew his son well enough to know that he was a completely straight man. Therefore, he mentioned the most extreme situation that could occur.

"What about you?" Grace asked. "Don't just try to flatter me. Tell me your thought on it."

"To be honest, I don't have such an open mind like you," Heinz replied. "If Sebastian did fall in love with a woman who's much older than him, I wouldn't be able to accept it. After all, it's still frowned upon at this age, and people would make horrid remarks. I wouldn't want my son to face such criticism." Content

"He probably won't," Grace said reassuringly as if to comfort herself. "He wouldn't fall in love with a girl like Claudia. They don't have anything in common. Even if he has some feelings for her, it's probably only attraction. It probably doesn't amount to love. After all, he isn't of age yet."

"I hope it's really like what you say," Heinz replied, also comforting himself.

Heinz accompanied Grace for a while, but during that time, he was still worrying about Sebastian. He planned to see how Sebastian was doing before heading to the office.

"You should sleep for a while. I'll go and check on Sebastian before going to the office. I'll be back to have dinner with you. Don't forget what we agreed on," said Heinz.

"I know. I'll be fine after lying down for a while. I can't actually sleep. If I keep on sleeping and eating, it'll be so easy to gain weight. I've already put on some weight over the past two days." Grace looked at her stomach, then touched her arms and her lower chin. "I feel like my double chin is showing, and I'm clearly getting fatter."

"You're not fat at all. You're just fine now. You're neither too fat nor too thin." Seeing that Grace cared so much about her body, Heinz immediately hugged her and comforted her. "You're really not fat at all. Look, except for this huge belly, what else is big? Back then I always felt that you were too boney. Now, you're totally perfect."

"How is this totally perfect? It's clear that I'm too fat. Don't say that just to make me feel better." Of course, Grace knew that Heinz was just comforting

her.

"I'm telling the truth. No matter how you change, you'll always be my beloved wife." Heinz kissed her forehead and cuddled her until she could not stop giggling. Only then did he feel at ease to leave.

Over at Sebastian's room.

When Heinz entered, Sebastian was studying. From the looks of it, he was studying hard. Despite his young age, there was a deep frown between

his brows.

After glancing at Sebastian, Heinz felt even more certain about his speculation.

Something must have happened. And it had to have something to do with Claudia or the late-night trip out the previous night. After all, Sebastian only became like that after he got back the previous night.

"What's up, Dad?" Sebastian was surprised to see Heinz staring at him blankly.

"Sebastian, have you been well recently?" Heinz asked, his question simple and direct.

For some reason, Sebastian was shocked by that question. He looked at Heinz in surprise and said, "Dad, why are you asking me this all of a sudden? I'm fine!"

"How are your studies? Have you encountered any difficulties?" Heinz pressed. Ignoring Sebastian's look of surprise, he smiled and said, "If you have any difficulties, you can tell me about it."

"Nope. Why would I have difficulties in my studies?" Sebastian had always been confident in that aspect, so it was impossible for him to face any difficulties. He had always been a hardworking student and a top scorer, and that would never change.

However, Sebastian was still quite surprised that Heinz would suddenly ask him how he was doing recently.

After he replied Heinz, he had a feeling that there was something wrong with his answer, almost as if there were some loopholes in it.

As expected, his gut feeling was correct.
