True Fated Marriage (Grace and Heinz)

Chapter 2206

Chapter 2206

A long time passed before they finally let go of each other. Ruffling Sylvia's hair, Kendrix said in a low voice, "It's time to go. I'll take you downstairs." "Okay." Although she nodded, she remained in his arms. "I don't want to go back," she murmured.

He could feel her attachment to him. She was baring her emotions to him.

He smiled, then sighed and said, "Your parents would be sad if they knew you didn't want to go home."

She pouted. "I won't be able to see you after I go home."

He was stunned. He stroked her head gently and replied, "Well see each other soon enough. We can always video call each other, but you have to promise me something."

"You want me to study," Sylvia answered. She knew what he was going to say. She was a bright kid, and she knew what she had to prioritize.

As a student, she should focus on her education.

She knew that was the least she could do.

Getting the answer he wanted, he was relieved and nodded. "All right. Let's go. Don't sulk, okay?"

Now wanting to appear childish in front of him, Sylvia let go of him reluctantly.

Once Kendrix felt her leave his embrace, he raised his brows and exhaled. Then, he gave a little cough and the lights turned back on.

Sylvia closed her eyes to give her eyes some time to adjust. When she opened them, she saw Kendrix looking at her, his face slightly flushed. Sylvia felt her face burn too, and she felt embarrassed.

His lips were also a little swollen, which was her doing.

It was the same with her lips. They were swollen and starting to hurt a little.

She pursed her lips and unconsciously let out a low cry.

"What's wrong?" he asked immediately.

"I'm fine." She shook her head, blushing even harder.

She was embarrassed to tell him that it hurt a little when she pursed her swollen lips, which was why she could not help crying out in surprise. Looking at her carefully, Kendrix could roughly guess the reason behind her cry.

He smiled. Seeing that, she muttered, "Don't laugh

at me."

However, he continued to chuckle.

Sylvia shot him a hurt look.

"All right. I'll stop laughing."

Sylvia felt that Kendrix's laughter was infectious and melodious.

Her ears reddened, and she complained, "It's all your fault."

He smiled again, then reached out and took her hand. "I'll stop for real this time, okay? Shall we take the stairs?" His voice was a little hoarse.

She nodded. They could spend a little more time together if they took the stairs. It felt good to hold hands with him.

It was apparent that she wholeheartedly approved his suggestion from her vehement nodding and her tightened grip on his hand.

Kendrix smiled, and they walked down the stairs slowly.

Fortunately, they were on the ninth floor, so it would not take too long to reach the ground floor.

Sylvia did not speak. She merely held his hand tightly and glanced at him from time to time.

Neither would want to separate from each other, not even for a minute.

Although they were only walking down the stairs together, Sylvia felt like they were on a date. She did not feel that it was boring at all. Time ticked by slowly.

They did not walk fast.

Sylvia was practically dragging her feet. She wished that the stairs would never end so that they could continue walking hand-in-hand. Kendrix looked at the time and reminded her in a gentle tone, "We have to speed up. If we take much longer, your driver will get anxious." "It doesn't matter. I told him it'd take half an hour," she replied.

"But it's been almost half an hour, right?" he asked.

"It doesn't matter. The driver sent

me up personally, so he won't be et

worried after seeing that I'm here to see Claudia." She smiled and held out her arms. "Hug me," she said.

He was shocked. He looked around and saw that they were almost on the ground floor.

Her arms were still outstretched out, waiting for him to hug her.

He nodded. Grabbing her hand, he pulled her into his arms and hugged her tightly.

They hugged each other for a while.

While still in his arms, she said in a muffled voice, "How nice it would be if I could become a small item that you could carry around. I could be with you every day."

He smiled. "If so, who would be my girlfriend?"

"When you're alone, I'll come out and become your girlfriend. Excellent idea, right?"

"If that's the case, wouldn't you be skipping school?" Kendrix countered.

Sylvia pouted. "Fine. You win."

Raising his eyebrows, he lifted her chin and gazed at her deeply.

"School starts in two days, so you can't do this anymore. You really have to study hard, okay?"

His tone was particularly solemn.

She could tell that he was concerned for her.

If she failed in her studies, he would blame himself for it and think it was his fault. Therefore, she had to keep her grades up no matter what.

Only then would he not feel burdened to be in a relationship with her.

She looked into his eyes and answered earnestly, "I know. I like you so much to know that keeping my grades is the least I can do. Otherwise, you'd feel guilty. K bear that in mind."

"Good girl," he praised, rewarding her with a kiss on the forehead. "Don't make me worry, okay?"

His slightly husky voice was so mesmerizing that it made her heart race.

Sylvia nodded.

"Let's go." Once they reached the ground floor, they went to the parking lot. "Where's the driver?" Kendrix asked.

"I'll give him a call," she answered.

"Tell him that I'll take you home and ask him to wait for you at the door."

"It's fine," Sylvia replied. It was not

that she did not want him to send her back, but he had already done so once. Claudia needed him more than she did so she refused him. "It's quite a long journey. Just head upstairs and go to Claudia

"Are you sure?" Kendrix asked, gazing at her.

Sylvia nodded. "You don't have to see me off."
