True Fated Marriage (Grace and Heinz)

Chapter 2178

Chapter 2178

Kendrix nodded after hearing the question and said, "This one's simple. You'll get it after I show you the calculation."

"Wow, you're the best." Sylvia sang praises to Kendrix. "You have no idea how wonderful it is to have you around. I can ask you whenever I come across any questions I don't understand rather than having to beg Sebastian. He'll make fun of me every so often; it's very annoying."

Kendrix grinned helplessly and went to grab a printer paper before writing down the solution.

Seeing him all focused, Sylvia was filled with happiness.

Kendrix was indeed gentle.

The more she interacted with him, the more she realized he was a decent guy.

Sylvia had always thought he might have his reasons for seeming aloof and unapproachable toward her. But now, she discovered he would let her do just about whatever to her heart's content after becoming his girlfriend.

And her resolution to cherish this relationship grew stronger.

She didn't just sit and wait but moved on to the next question as Kendrix wrote the solution.

Five minutes later, Kendrix positioned the paper in front of the camera and asked her, "Can you see it like this?"

Sylvia took a good look at it before she answered, "Bring it back a little; too close to the camera."

Kendrix moved the paper back a bit. "How about now?"

"A tad bit closer," Sylvia instructed. "Okay, stop. That's it. Give me a sec."

Scrutinizing his work, she cried out with epiphany, "Wow, you really are a top student. Even such a difficult question can't stump you. I can't believe you're still able to solve a high school question despite having graduated so long ago."

The paper blocked Kendrix's face so Sylvia couldn't see his expression, but behind, he couldn't help smiling hearing her praises.

It turned out it felt this good to be admired by her.

"Let me know when you're done," he said.

"Okay, I got it." Sylvia said, "You can put it down."

"Alright."

Kendrix put the paper down to find the girl was answering the question gaily with her head down.

"Is it that thrilling?" he asked.

"Of course." Sylvia opined, "It's boring to study alone. I'm really happy that you've decided to keep me company."

Gazing at her, Kendrix simply put his book down. In any event, he couldn't even get a word into his mind, so he might as well take a breather.

He had already let himself loose earlier; it wouldn't make a difference with another, would it?

He mumbled in his heart.

In the end, emotions prevailed over logic, and he fixed his gaze on his girl rather than the criminal investigation book.

Sylvia didn't seem tired at all, having already solved a good handful of math problems.

She would read out almost every question to Kendrix. "How about I read them for you and try to solve them by myself before letting you check if I'm correct? You can also see if I have a solid foundation in the meantime."

"Go ahead. Show me when you're done." Kendrix didn't refuse.

Just like that, Kendrix checked quite a lot of her work, which were all challenging questions, and he discovered she had a relatively solid foundation, clearly an intelligent girl.

However, he checked the time.

It was right at twelve.

"Alright, time or bed." Kendrix said, "It's already midnight."

After letting himself loose on New Year's, it was time for him to come to his senses.

He must not be self-indulgent any longer now that it was the second day of the year.

"Is it already?" Sylvia also checked the time. Time sure flew; it was already midnight before she knew it.

She looked up at Kendrix only to find him looking at her. She first cracked a bright smile before she stretched as she stood up.

Her body stiffened from sitting too long, hence the stretching.

However, her shirt lifted as she stretched, revealing her fair, slender waist.

At the sudden sight of her navel, Kendrix's gaze tightened, and a wave of lust surged up from his nose as his breathing grew heavy.

He averted his eyes in a trice, looking away from her.

Meanwhile, Sylvia was done stretching and had sat back down, asking Kendrix, "I've done so many questions and gotten most correct. That's pretty impressive of me, right?"

Kendrix looked back at her, only to see she was smiling at him, sparkling mischievousness in her eyes.

He had a hunch she didn't want their call to end.

"So?"

"So, there should be a reward, right?" Sylvia said with a grin.

"What kind of reward do you want?"

"Can we chat for another ten minutes? Just ten." Sylvia looked at him intently, hoping he would agree.© NôvelDrama.Org - All rights reserved.

Kendrix nodded, not having the heart to reject her even in the end.

"But go drink some water first. You hadn't even taken a sip since you started on your math problems."

"I'm not thirsty," replied Sylvia.

"Still, go get a drink regardless."

Kendrix said sternly, "Ten minutes, drink some water and freshen up. You have to go to bed after we talk for ten minutes. I'm hanging up; I'll call you later."

"Really?" She couldn't believe her ears; Kendrix would indulge her whim and be so caring toward her.

How sweet of him.

"Really. Now, go." With that, Kendrix ended the call.

Sylvia checked the time, got up speedily to take a few gulps of water before going to the bathroom to wash her face and brush her teeth.

There were still two minutesdeft when she came out.

She checked her phone and found that it was dying.

And she wondered if Kendrix's phone was doing the same.

His phone was running out of juice indeed. After hanging up, he glanced at the battery status to find only five percent power left, closing to switching itself off automatically.

The power wouldn't be able to support their ten-minute video call.

He got the charger and charged his phone on the nightstand while waiting for ten minutes to pass before calling Sylvia.

He sensed that he had really changed, not like his usual self anymore.

Right now, he behaved like an impulsive young lad who was besotted with a girl, having the urge to throw all caution to the wind.

He had to admit he was already missing the sweet girl as soon as he hung up just now.

Perhaps due to his austerity in the past, he had never paid attention to his love life. But it never occurred to him that he would fall in love with a girl way younger than him.

Maybe she was different?

There was a raging fire in her eyes, which shocked him most of the time.

Every time he looked into her eyes, his breath would be taken away by her burning gaze.

In the end, he took action.

Notwithstanding his passivity, he still did it.
