He didn't think Celeste had left for good. Instead, he thought Celeste had gone out to run an errand and would be back soon. However, where could she have gone at such an early hour?

He panicked when he found that Celeste was gone, his face paled considerably.

A sharp pain assaulted his skull.

Gary looked around aimlessly for a moment before he realized that Celeste's suitcase was gone.

With her suitcase was missing, Gary searched the house in a panic only to discover that it was nowhere to be found.

It was only then that Gary realized that Celeste had truly left the house.

Gary searched every corner of the room and finally saw a letter that Celeste left on the table.

He opened the letter without any hesitation. Celeste left a letter for his mother, she did not leave a word for Gary.

The letter was very short, but Celeste's helplessness, struggle and guilt were clear to see.

She owed the Jones family a lot.

She wrote, "Hello Aunt Grace, if you're reading this, then it means that I've left. I'm sorry, but Gary and I aren't going to work out. He's a good man, but I guess I'm not worthy to be his girlfriend. I don't deserve to spend the rest of my life with him, and I might even be a burden to him.

"My departure has nothing to do with him. It was my choice. I want to find somewhere quiet where no one knows me and live a peaceful life. "I've lived a hard life, but it was a blessing to have met you and your family who have been nothing but lovely to me.

"My only regret is that I've been unable to repay the kindness that you and Uncle Jones have shown me.

"Please allow me to be reckless this one time. I want to see the world on my own, and learn how to live independently.

"Don't worry, I will live happily and make myself a stronger person.

"I'll be off now.

"If we ever meet again, I wish that I will have the chance to repay your kindness.

There's no need to miss me. Goodbye, Aunt Grace.

"Love, Celeste. A girl who always didn't belong."

The letter was so short, and it didn't even mention much about Gary. The only time he was mentioned, Celeste said that he was a great guy and she wasn't worthy of him.

Gary found it ridiculous.

Wasn't this just a slap in the face?

He was the one who screwed up, but Celeste suffered the consequences. Gary felt extremely remorseful.

He held the letter tightly in his hand as he exited the room. Then, he drove out of the house to find Celeste.

He first made a call to Celeste, only to have the robotic operator tell him that the number he'd dialed was out of service. Gary realized then that Celeste must have removed the SIM card from her phone.

It was clear that she trying to sever contact with him.

She wanted Gary to be unable to find her.

If she didn't use her phone or ID card anywhere, then Gary wouldn't be able to track her down.

He was in a panic as he drove very quickly.

He called Jensen and asked him to find Celeste. Jensen could hear the anxiety in Gary's voice.

"Uncle, it's really complicated. Just help me find Celeste, I'll explain later."

Jensen realized that Gary didn't want to talk about it, so he didn't push for answers.

Furthermore, it seemed really urgent so it was better to focus on finding Celeste first.

After he hung up, Jensen had his men retrieve footage from various intersections in search ofCeleste.

Meanwhile, Gary was ripping up and down the streets for signs of Celeste.

Later at 9 a.m, he went to the detention center where Cindy was held to ask if anyone had visited her.

The answer was no.

Celeste did not visit Cindy at all. Didn't they agree on seeing her together?

Nevertheless, Gary refused to give up. He felt that Celeste would show up.

He waited there for two hours, but Celeste didn't show.

Then, Jensen sent him a message.

"Gary, we've found out that Celeste has bought train tickets at six-thirty a.m to Jenevo City."

"She's taking the train?" Gary was confused. Why was she heading to the border?

Why would she go there?

Wasn't she going back to Boston?

Was she going to give everything up just like that?

Gary's heart was in absolute turmoil. He realized that he may have truly hurt Celeste beyond the point of no return.

He held onto the phone and said, "Uncle, I want to go to Jenevo City to look for Celeste."

Jensen replied, "Gary, relax. There's

no info from the train station as to whether Celeste had actually gotten onto the train. It won't be too late to let me confirm first if she's onboard before you head over. Content

Gary was already in a panic as he closed his eyes. "I'll find her even if I have to go to the ends of the Earth to search."

"You two are quarreling?" It was the first time that Jensen had seen his nephew so vulnerable.

Normally, this fellow spoke in an insufferably arrogant manner.

Jensen didn't know what happened to make Gary start speaking so humbly.

"It's more serious than a quarrel," Gary replied.

Jensen was shocked. "What's the matter? Do your parents know? Wasn't Celeste living with you? How could she just leave?"

Gary pursed his lips and said, "I drove her out yesterday."

Jensen was taken aback. "Oh. You're an a*shole, Gary."

Jensen cursed. Gary drove Celeste away, and now he was trying his best to get her back?

"Yeah, I'm an a*shole. The biggest one on the pl." Gary chuckled bitterly.

He rubbed the space between his temples. His eyes were bloodshot, and his head hurt a lot.

He could not afford to panic.

Gary tried his best to stay rational, so he sat in his car and waited for a moment.

After what he said, Jensen couldn't bear to yell at Gary any longer.

"Forget it. I'll try and see if I can get any more information. Don't worry, it's not too late for you."

"Okay." After he hung up, Gary opened up his laptop and managed to gain access to the train station's surveillance system.

He searched every camera feed for Celeste. His eyes hurt like hell, but he managed to find her all the same.

She'd changed her clothing. It wasn't what she usually wore.

She was wearing a very old black coat.

However, Gary could still see Celeste among the crowd of people. She kept her head low on purpose as if to avoid the cameras.

However, Gary could recognize her in an instant.

She had gotten onto the train, luggage in tow.

It was the big suitcase she'd packed the night before.

After he saw this, he made up his mind to go after Celeste.

However, the phone rang at that moment.

He answered it right away.

A voice came through the speaker. "Master Gary, we've locked Janice up, but she kept shouting for us to free her. We paid no mind to her, so she hit her head against the wall to try and kill herself."

Gary was shocked, and he said in a very low voice, "Is she dead?"

"No, but she's bleeding quite heavily. Doesn't look too good," Gary's subordinate said.

"Get a doctor to bandage her wound."

"Master Gary, I'm afraid that won't

be enough. The wound is huge, and she likely needs surgery. I'm afraid that delaying treatment will kill her. If that happens then everyone will be introuble."

Gary narrowed his eyes, but he was strangely calm.

"Master Gary, it'll be a world of trouble if she dies."

Gary snorted. "Do you think Janice will die just like that?"

Her methods were becoming even more vicious. She wanted him to be blamed for her death.

Gary remained steadfast on his decision. "Get a doctor to patch her up. There's no need to go to the hospital. If she dies, I'll be responsible for her

death."
