True Fated Marriage (Grace and Heinz)

Chapter 2057

Chapter 2057

Celeste felt awful.

But what should she do?

She couldn't force herself to compromise.

Depressed, she lowered her head, not knowing what to do.

She recalled the moment Gary left the room. He looked dispirited and lonely as if he had lost his shine.Text © 2024 NôvelDrama.Org.

It must have been hard for him too.

He had not wanted to hurt her, but it had not been easy for her either.

Bitterness filled her heart.

Celeste quickly changed her clothes and adjusted her mood before going out of the room. She wanted to take a breather to calm herself down.

However, the moment the door opened, she happened to see Gary standing in the corridor.

His back was facing her while he was looking out of the window, not moving at all. It was as if he had turned into a statue.

The glow of sunset shone on him, and she could see his profile clearly in the reflection on the window.

He was so handssome.

He looked extra sexy and charming now that he had calmed down.

He was an outstanding person, and she believed any woman who saw him would fall for him.

Perhaps it was because he had heard the door opening that he turned towards her after a pause. Their gazes met.

An awkward silence filled the corridor.

Neither of them spoke because there were no words to describe the messy emotions they were feeling inside.

They stared at each other with worries of their own.

Then, Gary broke the stalemate and walked over to Celeste.

"I didn't want to tell you about this, but now that you've calmed down, I want you to know," he said calmly without the eagerness from before.

Her heart stopped a bit, and she had a bad feeling as she looked up at him, slightly surprised. "What is it?"

He looked at her for a long while before speaking.

"Go ahead," she urged.

He nodded and said, "Alright. Janice will be arriving in Northern City today from the United States."

She was stunned at the revelation.

This was indeed a shocking piece of news.

Her eyes were wide when she heard it. Then she asked, "What are you going to do? What if Aunt Grace finds out when Janice makes a ruckus about this? She's pregnant now. It's not good for her."

Seeing that she was concerned for his mother, he didn't know he should praise her for her kindness or feel sad that her first thought was about his mother.

Why would her first reaction be connected to his mother? He must have failed to make her not care about himself.

Hopeless, Gary stared at her for a while before sighing, "My mother is not as weak as you think. She has been through a lot, and she's smarter than anyone I know. I'm glad you're concerned about her, but what about yourself?"

Celeste was stunned. He seemed like a different person now. It was as if he had decided to put some distance between them.

He was giving her a piece of advice.

He meant that Grace would not be affected by this matter, but she would. And she should look out for herself.

"Still, she is pregnant. I can't be ignorant." She shook her head, still stubbornly clinging to her thoughts of not wanting Grace to find out.

However, he spoke again, "Then let me ask you, what would you do if Janice came to look for me here?"

She was stunned, but she responded quickly. She asked, "What about you? Will you allow her to make a fuss here?"

What a smart girl she was.

Upon being questioned, he laughed bitterly.

He looked at her and said, "Of course, I won't allow it."

"That's it then." Celeste said, "I believe you can handle it."

After hearing these words, Gary laughed and asked, "Are you saying you believe in me?"

She froze as if someone had slapped her in the face.

In fact, she was clear that it was useless to pretend like they had not broken up.

As people grew older, their concerns grew too. The same applied to her.

She couldn't just up and leave in front of Grace.

Pursing her lips, Celeste whispered, "If you think that it's troublesome for me to stay here, I'll leave."

"I've never thought of you as a

hindrance." Gary said, "I never

wanted to let you go. But it s

like iDisn't in my control now that

things had developed like this."

She knew he was saying it was because of her insistence.

She was the one who decided on the breakup.

She was also the one who said she would not leave his house and would continue to share a room with him.

However, she refused him when he had asked for sex. She must be really annoying to him.

Celeste laughed bitterly at herself.

"I know I must have disgusted you. But just bear with me for a bit more. We only need a bit more time."

Gary's body stiffened. He pursed his lips as something flickered in his eyes. He looked like he had something to say, but he remained silent.

Seeing that he said nothing, she felt

even more bitter inside. She thought

he agreed to her statement, so she lowered her head and said, "If you

want me to leave, you could say so. But fet's not make others worried about us."

He frowned. "What are you thinking? Do you think I'm asking you to leave?"

She did not speak.

He sighed as if he had suddenly come to his senses. He was acting like a child who got mad at not getting the toy he wanted.

Gary said, I don't mean to drive you away. I hope we can be a bit more prepared when acting like we are still good. After all, Janice is already here, and we might get caught off guard."

He was worried. Although he had made sufficient preparations, there might still be accidents.

"When will she arrive?" asked Celeste.

"5:30 pm." He didn't try to hide anything and said, "She came by private plane, Xyrion who helped her."

"Yandrea's younger brother?" she asked again.

"That's right." He nodded.

"She sure is something," Celeste praised sincerely.

To come by private plane meant that she was deliberately hiding from being investigated by Gary.

Janice was truly relentless.

Maybe it was destiny that brought Gary to her. After all, Janice had been working so hard, but Celeste was the one who was with him.
