True Fated Marriage (Grace and Heinz)

Chapter 2037

Chapter 2037

Even though Gary didn't say much, he immediately realized how sensitive his mother was upon looking at Grace's sudden frown.NôvelDrama.Org content.

Even though Grace had long retired from being involved in the various politics at the workplace, she still possessed sensitivity towards situations like this.

Therefore, he and Celeste had to be careful. With that said, Gary dragged Celeste into his arms and laughed, "Mom, isn't it nice to have a daughter- in-law like Celeste that stays at home willingly just to be with you? Shouldn't you be happy about it? Why do you keep driving us away?"

"Of course I feel happy about Celeste staying here with me, but you youngsters love to anger me. I'll definitely try to make you guys leave when I have the chance," Grace eyed her son carefully.

Gary wasn't annoyed and chuckled instead.

Upon seeing the mother and son bickering, Celeste too smiled faintly.

Grace's suspicion had instantly dissipated.

She had forgotten about what she wanted to say earlier out of her concern towards Celeste since she was interrupted by her own son.

By the time she realized it, the conversation had already ended.

Dinner was over.

The only members of the family that had attended this meal were Grace, Heinz, Lowell, Gary and Celeste.

Celeste had behaved well and didn't say much. She was well-behaved and reserved for the entire meal.

Similarly, Gary acted like his usual self in front of everyone. He was still very affectionate towards Celeste and kept giving her food. All the while, he made sure to be intimate with Celeste.

As a result, Celeste was a little distracted. It was as if the breakup had never happened and things were as before.

However, Celeste's thoughts wandered and she soon felt as if she was sitting on pins and needles.

After all, she was unable to get used to all this acting. However, every now and then, she would look in Grace's direction. Whenever she caught a glimpse of Grace's belly, Celeste would give herself a stern reminder to not get caught and avoid making Grace worry unnecessarily.

No matter what happened between her and Gary, she couldn't afford to hurt Grace. This was the only thing she could do for the Jones family. Furthermore, Gary wasn't trying to hurt her on purpose. She was clear of that.

After the meal, Heinz took Grace upstairs. He figured that she was tired and forced her to get some rest.

While Gary and Heinz were speaking downstairs, Celeste seized the opportunity to head back to the room. Her emotions immediately fluctuated the moment she was alone in Gary's room.

She'd probably never come to place again after this.

Her days in the Jones family were numbered. She was not confident that she'd ever come here again.

Celeste stood in Gary's room and reached out as she ran her fingers across the furniture gently, her eyes full of longing.

She was reluctant to part with it, but it hurt too much.

She had never felt so conflicted yet painful to part with something.

Even now, Celeste was a ball of complicated

emotions.

After returning to her room, Grace suddenly remembered how she felt that something was wrong between Gary and Celeste.

She initially wanted to lie down but got back up after Heinz left the room.

Then, Grace came out from the room and tiptoed to the corner of the hallway of the second floor. She found that Gary and Heinz were having a casual conversation downstairs.

As the father and son spoke, Lowell left so as to not intrude.

Both the father and son were the only people left in the living room.

Heinz asked while gazing at his son, "How have you been? Have you encountered any problems that you need my help with?"

Upon hearing his father's words, Gary frowned and grew a little cautious. Everything seemed fine until Heinz suddenly brought this question up. Did someone say something out of place?

A cunning glint flashed across

Gary's deep eyes as he decided to test the waters, "Asking that question out of nowhere is a little suspicious. Should there be

with?" "Are you sure there isn't?" Heinz raised his eyebrows. A smile appeared on his face as though he was hinting at something.

Gary's eyebrows furrowed as he stared at his father. Then, he burst into laughter, "No, there's nothing that I can't handle myself."

"Well, that's good to hear," Even Heinz wasn't able to see through his son. He chuckled, revealing an attractive smile as he asked, "How is your relationship with Celeste lately?"

Gary wrinkled his nose and lowered his gaze. He feigned ignorance and replied lazily, "Why do you sound like you're cursing me? Of course my relationship with Celeste is going well. Why are you asking me this out of nowhere?"

Heinz shrugged his shoulders and

just smirked, "It seems like the unusual one here is you. I was just concerned about your life as your father. We haven't seen each other for days, so I just wanted to talk

a old times and have a

casual chat with you. However, you've gotten so defensive all of a sudden. What's wrong? Can't you act normally?"

Upon hearing his father's words, Gary's heart thumped a little and he felt somewhat guilty.

After taking a silent but deep breath, Gary looked up in Heinz's direction

"What you said was spot on," Heinz added, "I should head up soon to accompany your mother. But you've just returned after being out for so long, so I want to care about you too."

"Thank you for your concern, but there's no need to. Just go accompany mom," Gary refused.

"I'll go in a minute. By the way, even though there's nothing that I can do for you, there's something that I need your help with. Can you do me a favor?" Heinz smiled.

Gary frowned again. His eyes widened as he scoffed, "I was wondering why you were suddenly concerned about me. It turns out you have ulterior motives."

"Yes," Heinz cleared his throat and started, "Shouldn't we settle the issue of changing your last name to Jones? Let's get that settled before the year ends."

Heinz was just trying his luck but he never expected Gary to actually agree coolly, "Sure. You can call the shots."

That was easy.

This came as a surprise to Heinz.

He immediately beamed, "Why don't let's have it changed tomorrow? What do you think?" "Alright, shall we go after breakfast tomorrow?" Gary

asked.

"Sure,." Heinz nodded in satisfaction, "That's settled then. Remember, you promised. Well go change your last name tomorrow after breakfast." "I'm fine with that," Gary nodded, seemingly disinterested.

Heinz eyed his son carefully. Was Gary in a tight spot? When did he become so easy to talk to?
