True Fated Marriage (Grace and Heinz)

Chapter 2035

Chapter 2035

Celeste's face had turned completely red. She felt awkward and embarrassed. Her face was burning and blood was running to her ears. Beside her, Gary's keen line of sight had caught her blushing when he turned to look at her. He turned away and a gleamingly calm smile appeared on his face.

As his gaze moved, Gary gradually hid his emotions from his eyes.

He sat there for quite some time, as still as a statue. All he did was watch the barren land outside the window get covered up in a sheet of white snow. Such a bleak winter's day described the emotions in his heart perfectly: cold yet unforgiving.

For a while, the two of them weren't saying a word. Celeste waited for a while but still couldn't understand why Gary had brought her here.

"Let's head back,” Celeste finally said something as she turned to look at Gary.

As it turned out, his gaze was on her as well.

The emotions flitting in his eyes were complicated yet surprisingly bleak.

Celeste was caught off guard by Gary's gaze.

"Let's take a walk," Gary ignored what Celeste said and prepared to get out of the car. Judging by his stance, there was no way she could refuse his forceful request.

Gary opened the car door and got out.

Meanwhile, Celeste frowned as she didn't want to get out.

If she did, she wouldn't be able to control the memories of what happened that very night when they went hiking in the middle of the night and decided to screw around instead of sleeping.

The very thought of those crazy moments they shared made her blush.

Yet at that very moment, Celeste knew that she couldn't think of the past anymore.

The moments they shared would only shake her resolution and cause her to turn back on her decision.

Therefore, Celeste didn't follow after Gary and stayed in the car, refusing to move a muscle.

Since Gary didn't hear the sound of a car door opening, he stopped in his tracks and turned back.

Celeste was sitting in the car, her gaze lowered.

Her emotions were masked and Gary didn't know what she was thinking about, but it was likely that she was contemplating whether she should get out of the car or not.

With that, Gary walked over and helped Celeste open her car door.

Celeste stiffened. Once again, she looked up at Gary.

Gary looked expressionless, but his eyes spoke a thousand words.

"Come on and take a walk with me. Since you've already made a decision, our time together will only reduce from here onwards."

Celeste's heart tightened in pain.

The pain lingered. The intensity differed, but the pain never disappeared.

It was as if someone had set her lungs and her heart ablaze, making it difficult for her to catch her breath.

It made her very uncomfortable.

"I'm afraid there won't be any chances left," Gary said as he saw that Celeste wasn't moving, "At this point, I know that nothing I say can change a thing. However, I want you to believe that I'll really miss every single minute and second spent with you."

Gary spoke with all earnesty and seriousness.

Celeste felt sadder upon hearing those words. She pursed her lips, a hint of reluctance flashing through her eyes.

If this really was their last moment together, she didn't want to let it go so easily either.

Ultimately, Celeste decided to get out of the car and accompany Gary for a walk in the mountains.

There was no one on the top of the mountain, but the mountain path was clean and well-maintained. At the same time, it was spacious but exceptionally lonely, just like the hearts of both Celeste and Gary.

Gary didn't move away as Celeste got out of the car and stood immensely close to the car. The minute Celeste stepped out of the car, she immediately fell into Gary's arms.

Once again, a wave of awkwardness washed over her.

Celeste's nose just so happened to brush against Gary's chest. However, Gary was unfazed. Meanwhile, Celeste had an irresistible urge to slink back into the car to avoid such an awkward situation from happening again.

However, Gary immediately reached out and wrapped his arm around Celeste's petite body, pulling her into his warm embrace.

Suddenly, Celeste felt uncomfortable as she took in the familiar cologne lingering on Gary. It was sweet yet refreshing.

She once thought that she would forever be able to enjoy the smell of Gary's shampoo and the warmth of his embrace. But now, it seemed one couldn't promise forever too easily.

Forever was just too long. Once careless, anything could happen.

It took just one slip for everything built on forever to come crashing down. Initial sweet words were never made to last.

Thus, one couldn't promise forever too easily.

Now, Celeste understood.

This feeling was not at all pleasant.

Upon taking in his scent, Celeste felt slightly upset.

However, she still reached out and pushed him away, muttering, "Let me go."

Sobs were audibly visible in her voice. She was aware that Gary could detect it for sure.

She really didn't want to cry but she had no choice. Her eyes had reddened involuntarily, and her voice was stuck in her throat. She felt terribly bad. How did they get to this stage?

Although Celeste tried to shove Gary away, he had locked her in his arms. She could feel his hot and airy breath on the tip of her ear.

It sent a jolt of electricity up her spine that she forgot to resist in the heat of the moment.

Next, Gary's slightly hoarse voice could be heard pleading and even begging her.Belongs © to NôvelDrama.Org.

"Don't move!"

With that, Celeste froze.

Soon, Gary's voice rang out again, "Celeste, let me hold you for just a second."

It was clear that he was pleading with Celeste. When was this tone ever used by Gary?

No!

This wasn't befitting of him.

Gary had always been an insufferably arrogant man, and his tone had always been arrogant and proud.

Now that he was speaking to her in such a lowly manner, it made Celeste feel terrible.

Her heart ached.

Celeste did not have the heart to resist Gary's embrace. Eventually, she chose not to move and just nestled herself in Gary's embrace, enjoying the brief moment of warmth.

After a while, Gary suddenly asked, "Celeste, is it alright for me to ask you something shamelessly?

Celeste's heart was in her mouth, but Gary suddenly fell silent. She didn't know what Gary wanted to ask her.

All she knew now was that no matter what was said, she would cry for sure.

Her tears were scrambling to fall from her eyes, and her nose was already red.

Just then, Gary held Celeste by the shoulders and gently nudged her away, pushing her slightly away from his embrace.

He then looked down at Celeste.

Celeste's head was hung.

The angle made it impossible for Gary to gaze right into Celeste's eyes. Thus, he reached out and gently lifted her chin in an attempt to lock gazes

with her.

It was said that the eyes were the windows to a person's soul. One was able to see through a person's heart when looking into their eyes. Gary too had seen plenty of feelings just from Celeste's eyes.

As soon as Celeste's chin was lifted up, she was met with Gary's intense gaze. His eyes were burning with a passion that ignited the memories and feelings she tried so hard to forget. She quickly looked down, a crimson blush appearing on her cheeks.

The incident with Janice was a thorn in her side. The minute she tried to think of it, it would hurt.

She could no longer think about anything else or have any reason left whenever the pain of the incident overcame her. It could not be forgotten or

forgiven.

This was a kind of pain and humiliation that only Celeste knew. She could only bury her grudges in the deepest depths of her heart.

Gary and Celeste were in love, but they had gone through so much suffering.

Celeste looked at the man in front of

her. Gary had a deep and

affectionate gaze, and that gaze was

hers alone. When he looked at her,

she felt a strong and deep connection tying their souls together.

She could tell that his feelings for her were not fake.

However, the pain from the incident was still a lock around her heart. The minute she thought of it, she would feel nothing but hurt.

Staring into Celeste's eyes, Gary muttered, "Celeste, cou-could you give me another chance?"

He finally summoned up the courage to ask.

This question of his had been brimming in his mind for the entire day ever since Celeste had mentioned breaking up on the boat.

Gary knew very well that he couldn't let go of Celeste.

He couldn't let Celeste go. At the same time, he was aware of how Celeste found it hard to forget this incident, and how it would hurt her every time it

was brought up.

However, he had no other choice. He had to at least try, and if he didn't, he was afraid that he would regret it.
