True Fated Marriage (Grace and Heinz)

Chapter 2032

Chapter 2032

"Alright," Gary nodded, "Since you are already prepared, there's probably nothing to worry about. I promise that I'll take care of you once we're back home."

"Thank you," said Celeste.

Gary was stunned. He wanted to laugh bitterly but stayed silent. Were they already strangers?

For her to say her thanks over such a small thing felt all too strange and unfamiliar.

The sense of unfamiliarity that lingered between them hurt. Gary couldn't help but laugh at himself as he sensed a feeling of sorrow from within. How could he and Celeste end up like this?

Previously, he still had the guts to pester Celeste to take him back. After all, he had never done anything overboard.

None of the mistakes he made were an infringement of beliefs nor principles.

However, could he really say that now?

Celeste had already made up her mind to leave him, and even so, she didn't want his parents to worry forthem.

She was a kind girl.

She was painfully kind to an extent where Gary really thought he was a jerk and was becoming less human.

Celeste walked upstairs slowly without looking back.

Just like that, Gary watched her slender figure disappear up the stairs. She was standing tall and upright. It didn't matter how big the problem was: she never seemed to bow down to the troubles.

Gary suddenly turned around and looked out the window.

The only thing he could feel now was a prick behind his eyes while a warm sensation gushed forward.

He rubbed his eyes and lowered his head.

Just then, Ernest's voice was heard.

"Hey, didn't you say that you wanted to rest upstairs? Why are you here?"

Gary looked up and saw the figure of his younger brother, Ernest, coming down the stairs in big strides.

"What now? Can't I collect my thoughts downstairs?" Gary retorted.

"No, I'm just worried about you," Ernest felt that something was unusual and asked, "Celeste has already headed back up to the room, so why are you still here?"

Gary ignored Ernest's words and changed the topic, "We'll be returning to the Jones family house tonight. Are you and Leah heading back?" Ernest shook his head and explained, "Leah and I won't be heading back. We'll stay longer if you guys plan on heading back. Maybe well be back before the festive season starts."

"You guys sure know how to enjoy yourselves," Even though Gary was just saying it casually, there was a hint of jealousy in his tone.

Ernest raised his eyebrows and asked, "Lowell is back, right? He can stay by mom's side and entertain her, so why are you guys heading back so soon? Isn't it nice to have a little time to yourself?"

"It'll be great if we could spend our time alone, but that's only when there's no one there to disturb us."

"That doesn't affect anything. Others need some time alone too," Ernest claimed, "Everyone needs some time off after all. Speaking of which, did you and Celeste get into an argument?"

"Why would you think so? Can't you wish for our happiness? Why would something happen between Celeste and I?"

"I initially thought so too, but your reaction seemed a little too excessive. That's why I think there's something going on between the two of you," Ernest seized up his brother with suspicion.

Gary looked over and met Ernest's eyes coldly but straightforwardly.

Such frankness made Ernest burst into laughter.

"Haha."

Needless to say, they were twins that once shared the womb of their mother. Ernest knew Gary very well. The harder Gary tried to put on a tough front, the more Ernest was sure that something was wrong.

"It seems like something really happened. You don't have to put on an act. Whatever you're trying to do now just makes me sure that it's a serious issue," Ernest was solemn. He looked at Gary in all seriousness and said out of concern, "If something has really happened,

don't hesitate to talk to me. I'll try my

best to help."

Gary's only response was to lower his head as he chuckled, "No. Even if there is something wrong, it's just a little friction between lovers. Thanks, but no thanks."Belongs to (N)ôvel/Drama.Org.

"Are you sure that's all?" Ernest shot back. He was sure that Gary wasn't alright.

Gary just smiled and walked to the sofa. He sat down and crossed his legs, looking as lazy as he could be.

"If it isn't, then what could it be?" He muttered faintly after some period of silence.

Ernest also sat down and faced Gary head-on. After shooting Gary a reassuring smile, Ernest said, "This is of course.something you can only ask yourself. I just want to remind you that if there's anything you need, just ask me. If it's something can't help, you should try your best to solve it as soon as possible. Don't let it drag on or the problem will reach a point where no amount of effort can help. It will be too late then."

"Thanks for your reminder," Gary sighed, "But it's fine. Celeste and I are really doing great, so you don't have to worry."

"Alright then," Ernest replied. After that, he stood up and said, "I'll head downstairs and get some snacks for Leah. She's hungry again."

Gary was startled. A second later, he came back to his senses and laughed, "Your relationship with Leah is going quite well."

Upon hearing this, Ernest shot Gary a sharp gaze. Why would Gary say something like this so suddenly?

This didn't sound like something Gary would say.

With that, Ernest decided to test Gary out by asking, "Why do you sound like you're lacking some love from Celeste?"

"Did something really happen between you and Celeste?"

"Of course not," Gary still gave the same reply.

Ernest shrugged, "Well, I'll tell you that Leah and I are doing really well now. Our relationship is better than ever after your blessings, especially during these days."

"How is my blessing related to your good relationship with Leah?" Gary smiled.

"Of course it's all thanks to you. If it wasn't for your suggestion to spend our holidays here, I would probably never get the chance to have such a leisurely life with Leah," Ernest paused before adding, "It sure is nice to have a getaway together."

Gary curled his lips before laughing softly, "That's good to hear."

Later, Ernest went to get some fruits for Leah and came back out with a plate piled with different sorts of fruits. Upon seeing this, Gary frowned and a light flashed before his eyes. A brief moment of hesitation later, he too got up and went to get one.

"Getting it for Celeste?" Ernest asked.

ΛΟ

"What do you think?" Gary rolled his eyes, "Am I the kind of guy who just eats fruit all of a sudden?" "That's true," Ernest snorted in laughter. The two

of them then went upstairs with the fruits.

Soon, they entered their own rooms.

Gary opened the door and immediately saw Celeste in the room. Meanwhile, Celeste froze upon hearing the door being opened.

Gary could only chuckle frustratingly in his heart. The state of their relationship now could make one sob.

He pretended nothing was wrong, walked over and put down the plate of fruits. After that, he gestured and offered, "Eat some fruits." "Thank you, but I'm not hungry," Celeste rejected the sign of goodwill, "You can have it yourself."
