True Fated Marriage (Grace and Heinz)

Chapter 2003

Chapter 2003

Outside, Celeste heard everything Gary said. Although she couldn't hear Yandrea's words, she could infer what he had said based on Gary's words. Janice was pregnant.

And it was Gary's.

She had found out from the call with Janice, but she had tried to be hopeful, thinking it was just a joke from Janice.

But now? From Gary's words, she knew that it was the truth.

Why had she been so naive to think that it wasn't real?

At this moment, there was no color on Celeste's face. It was as if her soul had been taken away.

Leaning against the wall, she struggled to keep herself standing as she did not want to collapse.

Only then did she realize how much it meant to hear it for herself.

She had thought that she was strong enough, but her heart was in pieces.

But could she blame Gary?

She couldn't.

After all, he didn't mean for it to happen.

They had been arguing about breaking up before. She was determined to break up, despite his refusal to the idea. Her persistence had gotten them to where they were now. Thinking about it now made her sad.

This was probably God's punishment for her.

It served her right.Content from NôvelDr(a)ma.Org.

Celeste's head was on the wall as her heart bled. She wanted to cry, but no tears came out of her eyes.

In the room, Gary was mocking himself, still on the call with Yandrea. "You don't know how much I want to take my own life for this. What kind of joke is this?!"

"I understand." Yandrea agreed, "Why don't you do it now?"

"I have always been one who is loyal and hated those who cheated. But somehow unknowingly I turned into one. It's all Janice's fault for trying to scheme on me. I will be sure to show her hell."

Gary grew angrier as he spoke. He gritted his teeth and caused Yandrea to laugh as well.

"How do you plan to do so?"

"Didn't she plan to break Celeste and me apart and take Celeste's place by my side?" Gary was on the verge of exploding when he remembered how Janice even used Lowell to threaten him. "Celeste will break up with me for sure when she finds out.

I can even predict how this will all end."

"What if you guys won't break up? Aren't you a little too pessimistic? I don't think it will turn out that way." Yandrea was still optimistic about this. "You don't know Celeste. She's a stubborn woman." Gary curled his lips. "I don't have the final say in this matter. It's up to her now."

"Then what about your promise of becoming Janice's boyfriend?" Yandrea threw another question.

Of course, this question made Gary even more furious. He yelled, "Who wants to be her boyfriend? If it weren't for Lowell, I wouldn't have said that. But I would never agree to be her boyfriend. Even if I had to, I would never treat her gently. How could she think she could make me fall for her?!" Stunned, Yandrea smiled and said, "So this was what you had in mind. And here I thought you were serious with that deal."

"Impossible." Wearing a frown, Gary rubbed his temple. "I'm more worried about Celeste. Once she breaks up with me, I will get her settled somewhere and start my revenge on Janice."

"Assuming everything goes according to your plan... What if Celeste's not willing to forgive you at all?" Yandrea asked.

"I expected that would be one of the

outcomes. Not the best, but now that Lowell caused Janice to

miscarry we can't do anything

anyway. Celeste must think I have I betrayed her and can't bring herself to forgive me. It's just that don't know how much she knows at this point."

"So you took her on a cruise to commemorate your last few moments together?"

"That's right. I want to leave a final good memory for both of us while hiding from Lowell. I don't want him to see her," Gary explained. "I see. Now I get it."

"Alright, I'm hanging up. I've been rambling with you for too long."

"Well, don't be too stressed about this. I don't think this matter is as bleak as you think." It was the first time that Yandrea had seen this side of Gary. It was as if Gary had lost all

hope for the future.

"Alright. Goodbye." However, Gary couldn't take in any advice now, nor did he want any consolation. He hurriedly hung up after finishing his sentence.

After hanging up, he came out of the room. There was no one in the corridor.

He stood in the corridor and took a deep breath. He curled up his lips in self-mockery and shook his head before he went back to his and Celeste's

room.

When he reached their room, he saw her focusing on some material. It was when she heard his footsteps that she looked up with a grin on her pale face.

"Done with the call?" she asked, still smiling.

He nodded and said without hesitation, "Yes."

Then he entered and sat down beside her, circling his arms around her shoulders.

Feeling her stiffened under his touch, he looked at her.

Celeste tried to force a smile but her face was still drained of color.

"Let's talk," Gary suggested.

"About what?" she whispered.

"About life," he answered.

For a moment, she didn't know what to say as her smile froze. But then she said somewhat powerlessly, "Life is a journey. Everyone makes mistakes that they regret along the way."

He was stupefied as he looked at her. He noticed that her long lashes were drooping. She was avoiding his gaze, and her mind was elsewhere. He did not know what she was thinking about.

He frowned and said, "Regrets, huh? Do you have any?"

Instantly, her face lit up. She nodded and said, "Of course, I have a lot of regrets in my life. What about you? Are you the same too?"

Instead of answering her, he fell deep into thought as he gave an awkward smile. The thing he regretted the most was the one with Janice.

Of course, there were others too.

But he was sharp to realize what she meant by asking that question.

He asked instead, "What do you regret the most?"

"It should be the time when we decided to split up." Celeste's gaze was fixed on the couch in the room, Ignoring Gary's gaze, she said, "That was one of the murkiest periods of my life. It was one of my greatest mistakes."

From this, he was sure that she knew about the ins and outs of the matter.

However, what puzzled him was why had she not reacted strongly to it.

Based on Gary's understanding of Celeste, she would leave him the moment she found out.

But why was she dropping so many hints now?
