Trouble in Paradise

Chapter 0218

Frances and Claudia were kneeling outside the ward while Daniel fumed. He smashed the glass on the water, which then shattered on the ground. Although he was not loud, his voice carried authority. "You ungrateful child! Are you trying to be the death of me?"

"Dad, I know Claudia did something wrong, but it's only because we spoiled her too much when she was younger. She lost her temper. At the end of the day, I'm also responsible for her actions as her brother. "Let me send her abroad. We're siblings, so I have to help her look for a husband whom she can rely on forever..."

At the door, Claudia sobbed. "Dad, I know I was wrong. But, Nick, I don't want to leave the country..."

Frances was also crying and pleading. "Daniel, considering how I've taken care of you and our family so well, can't you forgive Claudia just this once? I promise to discipline her properly. If she has to go abroad, so be it!" The entrance of the VIP ward was in total chaos. Nicholas sighed helplessly, "Dad..."

"Shut up!" Daniel was panting heavily. His chest heaved with anger. "Although our family would sometimes use small tricks in business, we always kept our feet on the ground. Has all your education gone to waste? "Look at what she's done! I'm already being lenient by not sending her to the police station! And you're still pleading for her?

"If you want me to die sooner, just keep talking!"

I did not want to watch this farce anymore. The confrontation between Daniel and Nicholas was their own business. Neither I, nor Frances, nor Claudia could interfere.

When we arrived, I had made a deal with Nicholas. I asked him whether he would agree to divorce me if I helped clear Claudia's name online.

Nicholas stared at me for a long time with bloodshot eyes. He then cupped my face and kissed me. He was clearly in pain.

In his eyes, Claudia would always be a little girl who would only smile and call him "Nick". She would not grow up or age.

She would always wear pretty little dresses while standing at the front door. She would always wave and wait for Nicholas to come home.

Perhaps he had blurred the definition of sister and first love over the long years. Or maybe he could always tell them apart clearly, and I just did not know.

But I could not explain or understand it. After all, I was not a mind reader.

The pain in his eyes was too obvious. It was as if he was accusing me of not believing that there was nothing between him and Claudia. Yet, I was still trying to pressure him at a time like this.

BUMS

He hated me. My lips still hurt from his bites. But when I was surrounded by Nicholas's sorrowful aura, I could not escape this depressing mood either.

lying if said it did not hurt me too. But ifI felt sorry for him, who would feel sorry for me?

Nicholas, how could someone want to have both women at the same time? I touched my lips and turned away dejectedly.

Claudia was sharp-eyed enough to see me leaving. She dashed over and grabbed my hand as she knelt before me.

"Arianna, I was wrong. I don't want to leave my brother. Please, please, please help me beg Dad for forgiveness. He likes you the most."

"You should have been prepared to face all the consequences of your actions when you did them!"

"Is that so Her eyes flickered. She suddenly smiled mischievously. She whispered in a voice that only the

two of us could hear, "If that's the case, you should die now, Arianna!"
