Chapter 0214
I thought about it. I realized there was not really any deep hatred between Nicholas and me. The issue was that there were always other women between us. That was something I absolutely could not tolerate or accept. I could not accept this version of Nicholas. No matter how much I loved him, I had to give up and let him go.
I tried to push past him to leave. Being caught off guard, Nicholas staggered backward. I wanted to let him stay here with his new companions, but Nicholas did not let me.Original from NôvelDrama.Org.
No longer patient, he said, "Ari, I'm already overwhelmed with my father's situation. Can't you endure this a little for my sake? Once my father is gone, no one will interfere in our affairs anymore.
"What does it matter if we don't have children? I don't need to have children. I know you feel wronged, but it was all fake."
I gave a bitter smile. "Nicholas, whatever happened between us can't be summed up by simply calling it 'feel wronged' anymore."
I said softly, "I want this to end quickly too."
With that, I opened the door. Outside, a few glamorous young women were peering in curiously.
One of them complained, "What? How is there already a woman inside?"
The girls rushed in excitedly before lining up by the door. I smiled wryly. They were not even workers here, yet they could set aside their pride so easily.
For a man like Nicholas, he would never lack female company if he wanted. Why should I be so stubborn?
As I tried to leave, the girl who had spoken earlier stopped me. She pulled me over to her side. "Don't go! Did Mr. Hawk reject you? Stay and watch how he dotes on me then! This is the price you pay for your disloyalty!"
Her words stunned me. In a moment of masochism, I even thought her suggestion was not bad. I even considered watching how Nicholas would treat other girls. Would he kiss them as he said he would? Would he caress their bodies too? But I was not that foolish. Breaking free from the girl's grasp, I stepped outside and eavesdropped for the first time in my life.
Nicholas approached the girls. One
of them cooed in a grating voice "Mr. Hawk, is this your first time here? It's my first time too. Why don't keep you company? We can have some fun together."
Nicholas chuckled, "Can you drink?"
The girls simpered, "We can, but we can't drink much. Mr. Hawk, could you take us home afterward?"
Nicholas replied coolly, "Why go home? I have a large villa nearby."
His cold tone sounded fatally attractive to these gold-diggers. They squealed excitedly and tried even harder to please him.
"Do you have any more friends? Call them over. The more, the merrier." The smile on my face froze. I never knew Nicholas had this side to him.
To think I fell in love with this man for how gentlemanly he was. How crazy was I to stand here eavesdropping!
I ran out. Everything around me
suddenly felt unfamiliar. This exclusive venue was hidden. It only offered access to VIP members. Everyone had private cars, so there was not a taxi in sight.
"Arianna?" Someone called out to me from behind. I turned to see Pete surrounded by a group of people, including the celebrity I had seen before.
"We just finished a show and came for dinner. They're all celebrities, so it's not great to be in public. Don't misunderstand." He ran over and scratched his head awkwardly "What are you doing here? Did you come to find me?"
For the first time, I was overjoyed to see Pete. "Could you take me to..."
I stopped abruptly. He did not know about my pregnancy. If I went to the hospital, he would ask questions, and I would have to tell him the truth.
"Could you take me back to the apartment?"
Right after I spoke, he suddenly turned me around. He covered my eyes with his broad hand and said in a low voice, "Wait a moment, there's a dust storm."
I trembled slightly. I listened to him and waited quietly. For me, was Nicholas not just like an unavoidable dust storm? I could already hear girls calling out sweetly, "Mr. Hawk, Mr. Hawk."
