Chapter 165 Ella's Visit
Chapter 165 Ella's Visit
Eric was shocked at the amount of money that had been transferred. He called Ellie back and told her
that the money was too much since the project was more than halfway done.
Samuel reiterated that the surplus was to increase the salaries of the film crew.
Eric understood.
It turned out that everything Samuel had done including the huge sum of money, were all for Ella.
Samuel spent all that money just to please her. Somehow Eric felt pity for their divorce, because they
seemed to still love each other dearly.
Meanwhile, Ella was watching the kids play in Daisy's house. She got a call from Eric.
"Hello, Mr. Eric." Holding the phone, she walked towards the balcony.
Ella was astonished by what the director said next.
He informed her that a new leading star had been selected and was ready to film the play, and the crew
were waiting for her.
'The whole crew is waiting for me?' Ella felt embarrassed.
"Okay, I see. Mr. Eric, I will come to the set tomorrow."
She would feel bad if it was true.
Looking absent-minded, she just hung up. Daisy asked, "Ella, what happened?"
The most popular news these days concerned her. 'How could it be Amber? She doesn't seem to be
that kind of person!'
Ella thought. She planned to visit Amber the following day.
"And I have to restart filming, please take care of Jane for me." She was too embarrassed to look at
Daisy.
Lovingly, Daisy gazed at Ella, "Jane is such a good girl. I have already taken her as my future
daughter-in-law. Hahaha."
Jane was only born a few days earlier than Sven.
And he grew up with Jane. What a perfect match!
"Well, only if your Sven wants to."
Sitting on the sofa quietly, Sven seemed to dislike Jane, who was playing with toys.
Upon hearing the two adults conversation, he refused their suggestion, "Mom, I don't want Jane to be
my girlfriend!"
"Hmph, Sven, no one wants to marry a weirdo like you." Refusing to admit he was inferior, Jane threw
a toy ball at Sven.
Shaking their heads, Daisy and Ella looked at their kids. Finally, Daisy resignedly said, "Forget it. They
have the right to decide their own destiny."
The two kids fought everyday like they were enemies.
When Sven's was growing up, Daisy had taught him many times to be concessional since Jane was his
younger sister.
Sven always refused to make concessions, saying, "She's so naughty. If I don't do something about it,
I'll got bullied!"
The two moms were speechless when it came to their children.
Jane had behaved like a lady when she met Daniel, who was 3 years older. Ella couldn't stop feeling
like Jane was Lola's daughter.
...
The next day, Ella went to set and met the new leading star - Shae, another popular actress from
Harry's company.
Ella had met her once when Shae was filming a movie in Hollywood.
Ella could feel the way the crew were treating her in comparison to before had changed since she
stepped into the studio.
Except Joseph, every other member of the crew, including the new leading star, were all courteous
towards her.
Feeling confused, she thought maybe they were just being sympathetic because she just got
kidnapped.
Soon, she felt comfortable working with Shae, who had been a big shot in the business for many years.
Since the filming process had been delayed, the whole crew had been eating and sleeping near the
studio.
However, Ella found that the meals supplied by the studio became better, especially hers.
Her meal included six courses and a bowl of soup.
Though the amount was small, they were all exquisitely made.
She asked Eden to investigate the reasons. It turned out that the investor had given another huge sum
of money.
Ella didn't try to investigate further since she knew exactly why.
Three days later, Ella had finished filming her remaining scenes and left ahead of time.
At C Country's Women's Prison.
Ella's request for meeting Amber was rejected because it was past visiting hours.
She pursed her lips thinking she would return without seeing Amber. Then she reluctantly called
Samuel. Content property of NôvelDra/ma.Org.
"Ex, I need a favor."
From her voice, she seemed to have recovered. Indeed she benefited a lot from the busy work
schedule.
"What favour?"
Samuel was having a meeting with a client, but excused himself and walked towards the French
windows when she called.
"I'm at the Women's Prison..."
Samuel understood instantly as she said what the favour was.
"Hmmm... Only if I can pick you up this evening." He didn't agree with her request first, instead, he
posed his prerequisite.
Ella gritted her teeth and refused, "That's not possible."
"Don't you want to see her?" How could Ella not tell that it clearly was a threat.
After cursing Samuel for a thousand times in her mind, Ella grinned, "Fine, Mr. Shao."
"Wait a minute."
The man hung up after he said those words.
Before long, a woman wearing a police uniform came, "Hey, you are Ms. Ella right?"
"Yes." She politely smiled at her.
"The Warden has asked me to escort you in. Come on." The two went inside.
It was the first time Ella had stepped into a women's prison. Before that, she had only been detained at
the police station for one day because of Catherine's frame-up.
Rows of prisoners were working out in a playground not far away. It was just as she had seen on TV.
She realised how realistic some shows could be.
Amber was in her cell where there was only a bed and a desk. The cell was small but neat.
Amber didn't look well.
She seemed to have lost a lot of weight and she could barely get up from the bed.
Her body was almost covered by bruises and knife cuts were all over her face, which made her look
extremely terrifying.
Ella couldn't help but sympathise. She couldn't imagine the pain this girl had been through. She began
to vacillate between loathe and compassion for her.
Upon hearing the movements, Amber opened her tired eyes.
She was shocked to see Ella. An instant later, her face became stolid again.
"I'd like to speak with her in private." Ella turned around and politely said to the two policewomen
behind her.
They looked at each other and one of them shook her head, "No private meeting is allowed for this
felon."
They surely were aware of the reason.
While Ella tried to say something, a faint voice said, "You should leave!"
