Chapter 859 Shield Him From His Wrongdoings

Caroline pondered, ‘I’ll make sure Azure’s reputation is ruined when I act! The crucial task now is to unveil Azure and Daniella’s misdeeds to the public while safeguarding Paige’s privacy.‘

Suddenly, Pete came to her mind, and she promptly called him.

After a short while, Pete picked up. “Hello, Ms. Shenton.”

Anxiously, Caroline asked, “Were you at Jordan Residence last night?”

Pete replied, “Yes, I was there all night, and I’m still here. I’ve been eating and sleeping in the car for the past two days.”

Caroline pressed further, “Did you notice any suspicious cars last night?”

“Suspicious cars? I think I saw one driving to the backyard last night. It left after less than 10 minutes. I thought it was someone else, but after checking the vehicle license plate, I found that the car belongs to the Jordans.”

Caroline frowned. “How do you know it’s the Jordans‘ car?”

Pete explained, “I’ve gathered information on all the vehicles owned by the Jordans during this period.”

“Understood. You may go home first and stop watching them,” Caroline instructed.

Pete was taken aback. “What do you mean, Ms. Shenton?”

“Daniella has been taken, probably by the car you saw. So, you should go home first,” Caroline clarified.

Anxiously, Pete asked, “Are you firing me, Ms. Shenton?”

Caroline thought, ‘Daniella is gone. What’s the point of keeping him?‘

Pete pleaded, “I’m sure there’s something else I can help you with, Ms. Shenton. I don’t mind tiring. difficult work. Please don’t fire me!”

Caroline paused briefly. ‘What else do I need his help with?‘

Caroline contemplated Scott for a moment.

Glancing at Evan, who was engrossed in his phone, she said, “Help me keep an eye on a surgeon at Angelbay Hospital named Scott Wilson.”

Evan looked up abruptly, staring at her.

Pete asked, “Understood, Ms. Shenton. Is there anything else?”

“That’s all for now. Don’t let him notice anything. Monitor every person he interacts with outside the hospital,” Caroline instructed.

Pete agreed, “Alright!” ConTEent bel0ngs to Nôv(e)lD/rama(.)Org .

After ending the call, Evan remarked, “Do you now believe Scott is more complicated than you initially thought?”

Caroline placed the phone on the coffee table. “I don’t believe anything until I have evidence. I can only conclude when I have evidence.”

Evan sneered. “If Scott is really that person, what will you do?”

Caroline stayed silent. “I’ll be very disappointed, but I won’t shield him from his wrongdoings just because of our years of friendship.”

Evan stared at Caroline. “I hope you remember what you said today.”

Caroline changed the subject, saying, “Would you like to get some sleep? It’s not good to stay up all night.”

Evan stood up. “Okay. I’ll take a short nap upstairs, then head to work.”

Caroline walked him upstairs and said in front of the room, “I’d like to commission someone to write an article.”

Evan stopped walking. “What article?”

Caroline explained, “An article exposing Daniella and Azure while still protecting Paige’s privacy.”

“Don’t do that! I’ve already notified the police.” Evan walked into the room.

Caroline was stunned and followed closely. “When did you do that?”

“When you were calling the journalist.” Evan grabbed his bathrobe.

Anxiously, Caroline said, “Paige’s condition will be exposed if you get the police involved.”

Evan turned. “Do you think there’s a better way than this? Or do you think commissioning someone to write an article is enough to ruin Azure’s reputation?”
